I think it was two years ago, I did an FETO tournament during the guildaversary. I'd gladly host another one, but only if there is enough interest. So my question for you guys is: If I hosted another FETO tournament, would you join it? I'd do an unpromoted division and maybe a promoted division, if there are enough contestants with promoted units. For those who have NO clue what I'm talking about, FETO is an online turn based game that works like Fire Emblem. You can create your own characters and build their stats. You can even upload your own mugs and sprites for them. Those that have played I'm sure can give positive feedback. FETO is a game that is part of the popular FE resource site Fire Emblem Planet (FEP). If you have an account there, then you can play the game. If you do not, you cannot even look at the FETO page. If you were to create an account and make your characters, you would probably be concerned about being at a disadvantage because of levels and weapon level. Well, the way the battles would be played is at level 20 or 20/20 mode, which is a battle mode that basically maxes your characters out statwise for that particular battle. Weapon levels would be decided upon by the combatants of a match. So, there's really no advantage aside from experience. It's still fun even if you think you'll probably lose. Anyway, for people who have no clue what I'm talking about and would like some questions answered, please ask them.

FETO is ******** awesome. Best PvP FE-based experience you could ever hope for, tons of classes that makes sense (and that you always wished existed), a really balanced metagame, etc...
I totally recommend and endorse this idea. And if anyone has any questions about FETO, feel free to target them at me (although for thoroughness, FEPlanet itself has an amazing intro thread to FETO with tips and tricks and the like).
Also, because units are generally planned with promoted stats in mind their unpromoted stats aren't necessarily as efficient as you'd like them to be or hope for them to be. This being the case (and because I haven't played FETO in a really long time), if someone wants to level grind to get back into the game, or get into it for the first time, I'm totally up for it, and am willing to split wins/losses 50/50 (repeated games being necessary for making gold/getting items.

I don't understand...is this an online Fire Emblem match or something? I went to the link and didn't find any blaring signs that pointed to that kind of thing.

I'd have to see if I even remember my account info. XD
Chances are, I might not remember it, but I wouldn't mind starting over. I need to create more dual-tanks anyway. 8D

I'm actually more interested in knowing whether or not this is an actual Fire Emblem online experience...like, as if you were playing a GBA version of the game over the internet (as I can't help but envision it that way since i've only played 4 of the handheld and not console games).

Basically. Although obvious a lot more REAL strategy goes into it since you're fighting a person rather than a computer (which isn't to say the games don't require any, but if you're playing against a half decent FETO player, you'll have to put a lot more thought into your moves than you'd ever have to in-game).
Promotions are a lot more intricate, skills are very reduced in what they're capable of for the sake of balancing the metagame, there are more weapons and staves (LOVE how FETO treats staves) and status effects that exist, but the maps are the same, gameplay is basically the same, heck, even a lot of the sprites are the same.
Think of it as a MUCH more involved, complex, enjoyable Link Arena mixed with chess and traditional FE gaming. I'd really suggest making an account and trying it out yourself to get a better understanding of it.

Yeah, there's no story but it's really like you raise your own characters and right FE6/7/8 style battles with other people to level them up. It's really fun~~ Oh and I'd love for this to occur... But I don't know if I'd be able to commit to playing in a tournament.

I tried to register on Internet Explorer, and I got a 500 internal service error. I filled out everything except the two bottom right boxes (since I do not have a Wii friend code). I hit refresh, but the old form I just tried to submit loaded up and said the display name I tried to use was already taken (even though earlier it was green and clearly showed that it was in fact available).
I tried again on FireFox, but the display name was still taken (and of course I haven't got my Email from the site for validation info regarding the display name that is now taken, which might mean that the Email I used when signing in with that display name is also now invalid on the site server).
I'm unsure of whether to log-in with another Email and display name or not at the moment. What should I do?

I've got some connections with the higher-ups at FEP. I relayed the issue, Demonhornz, and it should be fixed soon.

Got a similar problem here when making a new account. A 500 internal server error, then an additional 404 not found error within it.
