The Negaverse Captain was out on a hunt for energy. She was looking to shake some things up, maybe hit a new place, as her usually stomping grounds were running a bit dry and boring. It was to be expected. If people had bad experiences somewhere, they weren't likely to come back. Even if they couldn't quite remember what had happened. Plus, the targets that would return, the drunks at the bars, would have to rest a little while before they stumbled back in.

So she was on the look out for a new spot, and quickly found a nice restaurant to set up a trap in the alley next door.

Usually, people didn't come down into alleyways, so she set out a little bit of a lure to see if anyone might take the bait. A flashing light, hidden behind a dumpster, and a rat caught in a cage. Unhurt, of course, as she imagined Zanazziite would be very cross with her if she hurt an animal in her traps. It was, however, very frustrated and squeaking loudly. The rat had nothing to do with the light, but she imagined the mixture of both would be curious enough to draw some attention.

And she would be waiting with her favorite rig, despite how archaic it was. A rope looped over a higher railing on the building, a noose-like knot on the ground on the way toward the light, in the shadows. They wouldn't even reach the rat and light before she pulled them up and let them dangle by their feet.

It was almost like her calling card, people hanging upside down.

Maybe next time she would do something new as well as find a new hunting ground, but she also contented herself by gathering energy and having fun with it. So why not do what pleased her the most, and gave her the most giggles? People were hilarious when they were suddenly caught like Bugs Bunny.

After her words with Fluorite, the senshi had decided it best to go against how she felt... and walk outside of the building in civilian form.

Leaving the resteraunt, whom gave her a piece of the home made bread to munch on, she soon found herself turning and heading down the street. The bread was still halfway in her mouth as she was going to rip a piece off... as something in the corner of her eye caught hr attention. Light? Was that... a light flashing in the dark alley? Why would someone be flashing a light there, and if not a someone then why is a light flashing in there? The only light she could remember flashing that way was a cell phone.

Had someone lost their cellphone? Her mind wandered back to what Ever had mentioned.... something about stealing things. How its ok to take things no one wanted. Maybe someone did not..want the object?

....Did cell phones squeak? The noises she heard... memory moving sluggish today she figured it was some sort of creature.

"hello?" She called out walking down the alley towards the light incase someone was down there. Like a game of cat and mouse.... only Painite was the cat, Sabine moved until she stood practically in the loop of the trap.

Painite heard a voice and grinned. Why was it people always called out hello when they were walking down creepy alleys? She saw it all the time when she was laying in wait with her traps, and even more often on the television and in movies. It was like human beings had to say hello to the danger they knew they were walking into, like that was some how going to disarm it and make everything okay. Or maybe they were just being polite, instinctively, as even if their conscious mind did not tell them they were walking toward a set up their subconscious still wanted to greet the baddie who would inevitably waiting.

Or something like that.

She was all but holding her breath as the girl came closer, not recognizing her but not noticing. She never recognized her victims, unless she was specifically stalking them. Since that wasn't the case here, it didn't matter. With a rush of adrenaline she moved, pulling the rope the moment the girl's foot was in the loop. She tugged as hard as she could, pulling Sabine off her feet and up into the air in a flash.

Once the rope was tied off, Painite leaped down to visit her prey.

"What's that old adage, about curiosity?" She asked playfully, making her voice as sinister sounding as she could. It was difficult, sometimes, when she was in a perky mood and her British accent was particularly happy sounding.

"EEEEEEK!" She said, a term she was using all to often recently, as she was hoisted off the ground. Her two ankles now tied together, the tip of her head was now hovering a foot or two off the ground. Oh man that would hurt when she left go. Fortunately, Sabine had been wearing her khaki bottoms today and was not in her skirt.... or Painite might be using another adage about 'london and france'.

"...Kills the cat?" She replied instantaneously, not too sure where the words came from but knowing it felt right. "But.. in this case are you not the cat and i the mouse?" Even upside down she was confused, as the blood started to rush to her head and make her dizzy.

"...What are you doing anyway.., is this a game?" Naive as ever, she seriously thought this woman would not hurt her.

Painite opened her mouth to reply with something witty on reflex, but stopped for a moment to consider. That was a very good point. She was the cat, because she was hunting, and cats didn't hunt other cats, did they? How could she be playing cat and mouse with her victim and tell that same victim they were a cat because of the curiosity that killed them?

She looked puzzled, then shook her head and grinned confidently.

"Consider me the dog to your cat," she said, thinking that was the excellent choice. "The hunter, and you the prey, falling into my little trap because of your curiosity!" Perfect. If not a bit over explained, but that was irrelevant. She moved on, circling around the girl so she couldn't keep a good eye on her captor.

"A game for me, maybe, but not so much for you. You, I'm afraid, are simply a storage device. An ATM, from which I'm going to withdraw the energy that I need."

Wait, now she was an ATM? What was she, cat shaped? Painite didn't think about that in too much depth. She was supposed to be evil, and she spoke as smoothly as possible, using her British accent to her advantage now. It did come in handy when she wanted to sound diabolical, at the very least.

"You have a really pretty accent!" Sabine said, still not super mad or scared, but curious. Lyra was sometimes like that... something she should have been scared at, she kept the smile on.

"...Some dogs are afraid of cats though. The neighbors cat sure picks on the local stray dogs..." She mused really to no one, eyes following the negaverser around as she felt herself growing even more light headed from all the blood settling in her head. The world was starting to spin.

"Waa-iittt." The term came out a bit muffled, the dizziness apparent. "Energy? Your collecting energy? Are you my comrade? Fluorite said their job was collecting energy... "

If the woman was indeed some non nega.... the name shouldn't really give anything away.

Painite tried not to be caught off guard by the comment on her accent. Sometimes victims could be very weird in their panic and terror, after all. They didn't think clearly when they were hanging upside down, either.

But then, they never said something like that.

"Fluorite?!"

The girl knew a Nega by name? Referred to her as a comrade? Had she accidentally caught a fellow Nega in her trap by accident, or was this some really stupid senshi playing a trick on the trickster? No, that wouldn't make sense. Why would a senshi give away their civilian form? It would put them and anyone, everyone they knew in danger. And even if they had absolutely no one, it would still make their lives impossible. Too much to risk to trap a random Nega.

So this had to be one of hers!

"Oh dear," she said, moving over to the rope and easing her down, trying not to drop her on her head as she untied the rope and lowered Sabine to the floor.

She moved back over to Sabine carefully, despite her thoughts on the subject, just in case this was a trap of some kind. "You know Fluorite?"
PostPosted: Tue May 03, 2011 2:19 pm

Even with the gentle touch of the other girl, Sabine still landed with a rather undignified THUD on her rump. "Ooowwww...." Using her knee as a base, she pushed and lifted herself to her feet. Her whole 4'10" height that is. The 'ow' was more of a reaction.. though she did hurt a little.

"Met her the other day, she bought me a drink." It was tasty, too. She liked the red can soda.

Sabine looked around next, making sure the two of them were alone. The other girl was talking of energy collecting... and she looked nega. She did not have the tall tale white and skirt combo, Sabine had a feeling she could trust her. If not? Whoops. Holding out a hand in greeting, she smiled. "Names Sabine... or."

The girl left herself shift over into senshi gear, her hand still extended out in greeting. A outfit of black and blue replaced the civilian gear. Lyra's hair had pulled itself up into pigtails, extending its length down to touch the ground. A collar with chain links around her neck clinked as she shifted to remove the tingly feeling of the transformation. She looked like senshi, and yet she also looked like a nega. Her aura was also a mix of the two.

"I also go by Ammolite."

Painite, standing at a terrifying five foot two, when rounded up, was not often taller than anyone. But she was, in fact, taller than this girl and that delighted her to no end. She smiled immediately when Sabine got to her feet, though why was known only to Painite. At least, she didn't say it out loud. She just puffed out her chest and put her hands on her hips, standing tall and pointedly looking down.

Despite that it wasn't that big a difference.

"Fluorite is such a sweetie," Painite said, when told that she had taken Sabine out for a drink. She was surprised when what she thought was a Nega turned out to be a corrupted senshi. She had not met one of those before. A corrupted cat, yes, and he was awesome, but not a senshi.

The energy she felt on the girl was different. Strange, and very powerful. Painite's eyes widened in surprise, and she deflated just a bit before offering her hand an shaking Lyra's eagerly.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Ammolite! I'm Painite! Gently Ponsonby, when powered down, so we're square. I shouldn't know you if you don't know me!" She chuckled sheepishly, "I'm sorry about the whole... trapping you and trying to steal your energy...thing."
PostPosted: Tue May 03, 2011 6:01 pm

"Nice to meet you Painite!" She had that same smile as before, it fading only a little bit after the introductions. "Its ok! At least we know your trap works? I am sorry for ruining your trap." She laughed, taking her hand back she ran her fingers through her hair a moment.

"Flourite was really nice to me, she walked around and explained some things with me too. Sometimes i think you need a manual to go along with this." She scrunched her face up in mock frustration. Or was it faking...?

Sighing she looked turned away, doing a bit of a childish twirl. "I like being in this form a lot more than in civilian, but i was told i give off a rather strong Aura... so unless i want to be targetted i need to be careful. Or something...

"Speaking of such, are you a uhm... uhm.. agh what did brother call it.. Oh! A captain?" A head tilt, wondering if she was right. "Your aura feels... stronger than Fluorites, but not as strong as brothers."

"Oh, you didn't ruin it! It's one of my easiest ones to set up. Just a trusty ol' rope and a good place for leverage. Fun stuff! I was going to use you for a bit of relief, you know!"

She chuckled.

She listened with interest, tilting her head to the side.

A corrupted senshi! She was fascinated, and a thousand questions leaped into her mind and she wasn't sure which one to ask first. She grinned.

"Being a Negaverse agent? Yeah, it gets pretty tough sometimes. Hell, I get confused sometimes. So you're new huh? That's cool! Don't worry, there are tons of us around that'll help you out. Like Fluorite, obviously, and... me!" She laughed, listening with an eager look on her face. Like a kid expecting a Christmas present. She nodded. "Yeah, you do. You've gotta be one of the strongest... uh... well. You're definitely one of the strongest auras I've felt, besides the bosses!"

She beamed with pride when Lyra brought up her being a Captain, nodding her head and puffing her chest out once again.

"I am! Your brother? Who is he? You're a senshi, right? Or you were? Can you remember any of that? I heard once you forget everything when you come over to our side, but that was in some vague lesson. Do you remember things like... like tying your shoes or riding a bike? They say you never forget."

And she was off, the flood gates open.
PostPosted: Tue May 03, 2011 8:08 pm

She couldnt help but blink, strongest? She was one of the strongest auras? Nah couldn't be true, she was just a senshi! Ranking below even lieutenants, clearly that should play into what her aura was right?

She did not have time to really contemplate that for long, as the questions were soon fired off at her she tried to reply to them all at once. " Zinkenite. Just please only tell others of the dark kingdom... we cant let it get out, some people knew us as siblings in civilian back before apparently..."

She compiled the last of the questions into one large explanation. "Yes i am senshi... but now that i have been 'enlightened' i am on the dark kingdoms side now. My memory only expands to...about two weeks ago. Or around that time anyways. Anything before that, i dont remember anything. Physical memories are there, but they come and go. Like when i did reach down and try and tie my shoes, somehow i knew how to automatically do it. If i look long enough at something i usually can remmeber what it is. If its food and the word is mentioned, or the item is brought to me, i can remember it and if i like it or not. Unless... i guess i never heard of it before, even in the past." A laugh. "Then i would decide here and now what to do."

"I...wont deny that it is hard. Its really hard sometimes waking up in the morning and wondering what i willlearn today, or remember. People? Forget it. I did not even remember my own brother when i first woke... or someone i apparently hated in the past." She said fleetingly, remembering scheelite mentioning they hated one another.

"...So like, how do they bring officers in to the negaverse? How do you upgrade? Does it hurt? I cant remember if it hurt me or not... How long have you been with the dark kingdom? Can you control youma? Fluorite mentioned captains were assigned youmas..."

She responded to the questions with questions of her very own. Question wars.

Painite remembered meeting Zinkenite! He had been a Captain then, though. Did he get a promotion? It would make sense: that had been at the very start of her career in the Negaverse. She had been as green as Lyra seemed to be now, maybe more so. It seemed like an eternity ago now, though.

"Don't you worry! I tend not to speak about Nega things when in non-Nega situations," she winked at that, a promise and crossed heart. It was a very good rule of thumb, she imagined, and she never wanted to risk giving anything away about her duties or her friends.

She wished she had her notebook on her. She almost powered down just to get it: she always had it on her when she was in her civilian clothes, but she didn't. Instead, she tried to take as many mental notes as she possibly could, in the hopes that she would be able to recall everything later and ponder all that she was learning about these corrupted, or rather enlightened, senshi.

"That's incredible! I can't imagine it, and that's got me tingling. I can't fathom what it's like to not remember anything until you see it! So it's all locked away, you just need to have some spark, some thing to bring it back to you? That's amazing! Does it feel strange at all? Are you... like, always aware you can't remember things, like I'm always aware that I can? Or! Uh! I'm sorry, I know it must be hard."

She rubbed the back of her neck thoughtfully for a moment, then offered another bright smile. Now it was her turn to be questioned.

"The higher ups do the recruiting. You should ask your brother about that! We get promoted when we're awesome, and we get stronger. Like, my weapon," she summoned it to her hand, from its little pocket in subspace, "this used to be a hobby horse, with a plush little horses head. Now it's this awesome javelin. It's like an extension of me. I dunno about how other Negas treat their weapons, but mine is really important to me. I don't have youma yet though. I mean. I'm sure I'll get one!"

Sure, she hadn't knowm about the youma thing until that moment, but Lyra certainly didn't need to know that, did she? As far as the corrupted senshi knew, Painite was a wealth of information.

"If you fought with a nega you knew in the past, would you remember them? Or is it all people in general? I guess you said you couldn't even remember your brother. Huh! So what about your civilian life? Do you remember those people? Do they remember you? Is it really strange trying to interact with people, or have you avoided it? What about movies?" A strange, sudden change of thought, "if you saw a movie with an actor you used to like, would you remember them? Or are they in the same boat as people you actually knew? We should watch a movie!"
PostPosted: Fri May 13, 2011 6:38 pm

"....Well its awkward to say in the least? And a bit frustrating." The senshi blushed, looking down at her feet momentarily before back up and head tilting. "I am always aware there is a void in my mind, something that always needs filling. I've heard the saying knowledge is power... but what if you don't remember anything you know? The only thing for certain, even if i see them apparently, i know i dont remember..... is people. I have had... a few others approach me." Biting her lip, she turned away. "Someone named... Mu Cephei? And a few others... approach and say they knew me. They all knew my... well, as they say 'true' name." She had introduced herself as Ammolite to Painite. "I dont like my 'true' name." She hissed out, showing a random flash of temper before putting it back under control to continue the conversation.

"I....literally dont remember anyone. Movies... nada. No one. When i woke up, all i knew was my 'true' name and my sphere. Thats all. I havent really watched any movies yet." Her face scrunched together. "....Actually i only just remembered what a movie was because you mentioned it." A short laugh. Approaching a little closer, she had a move to touch the javelin. Not really waiting to see if it was ok... she reached out. "...Where did this come from? It popped out of no where!"

It made sense, she supposed. Life wasn't so convenient as to allow them to corrupt a senshi and take all their secrets from them. It left her feeling a bit cheated, considering, if senshi were as liberal about their secret identities with one another as she was with her fellows, they would be able to track down a lot of enemies and make some wonderfully devious plots to lure them to their doom.

Ah well, she supposed she would just have to continue to do things the hard way. It was the fun way, despite her inner whining. It made the victory in the end that much more worth it.

"I see! Well, you don't have to go by you true name to me! I'll call you Ammolite! Or Ammo. And you can call me Pain. Ammo and Pain? We sound like a Western." She grinned, eyes bright and eager, as ever. She was very eager to teach her all about movies again, though.

She looked down at the weapon, smirking.

"We keep our weapons in sub space, and we can call them to our hands when we need them. Or when we're showing off," she did that a lot. She smiled fondly as she looked at her Javelin. "This is the Spirit of Mister Saddles. When I was a lieutenant my weapon was a hobby horse, and his name was Mr. Saddles. See? The javelin has some of his hair." She pointed to the circle of hair near the top of the pointed stick.

"It's pretty nifty! I've had senshi try and take it or throw it away, but we can just call it back. Always sends them for a loop."
