A year had come and gone since Adaya had bore her children to the stallion she had never met before. A year had come and gone since she had fallen for said stallion as they attempted to raise their children together. A year had come and gone since her heart had been ripped from her chest. A year had come and gone since she had left everything behind. Everything except her home. Each day she had trudged through the same woods and fields; constantly reminded of the life and family she had once had. She wanted to leave it all behind now. There was no use being reminded of the past; no use in feeling those emotions which she had tried so hard to push from her mind and heart.
A soft spring wind ruffled the mane for the icy mare, causing her braids and beads to jingle and sway with the rhythm of her heavy footsteps. Each step for her was a step towards a new life. Her journey thus far had been useless - she had found no place for which she could call home. Nothing suitable, nothing that met her requirements. Nothing that held the beauty she sought and relished with every fiber of her being. It was time to move on further, this time to the mountains - perhaps their treacherous and heartless faces could offer the life she so longed for.
She pondered this as she made her way to the stony base of the mountain range. She didn't believe she would, but it was a place to go. Cynical outlook in mind, heart frozen, and mood sour the blue dappled mare pressed on.
