Nora was still confused by the idea of a "playground" She was completely convinced that a playground was ground on which you played. Which, philosophically speaking, could be any kind of ground on which one played. She had tried to make a calculation concerning this thought pattern, but she couldn't get past the idea of "free thought", so she stopped and went back to her PvsP equation. The ever unsolvable. She swore it would drive her mad eventually. Her caregiver sat on a bench while Nora sat next to her, doing her calculations. The caregiver glanced at Nora.
"You could go on the swings, you know. Or perhaps, go and play in the sandbox with the other girl there." The caregiver turned the page of her book on biological diversity; it was actually about beetles, as Nora had come to find out after leafing through a few pages.
"What will playing solve?" Nora said as she looked up from her book of equations. Her little pencil clutched tightly in her hand. The caregiver sighed and took the pencil and notebook away. She pushed Nora's hair out of her eyes and sighed again.
"For every new friend you have, i will reward you with a book of your choice. Now, please go and play with that other girl. She appears to be building a sand fort." The caregiver looked out over the playground, her sunglasses masking the fact that she was so very worried for the normalcy of Nora. Nora's feet dangled over the edge of the bench.
"That is a sufficient deal." Nora smiled slightly, in an awkward way, and then hoped down from the bench. She fixed her blue shirt and walked over to the sandbox. Her caregiver smiled and pulled her book back out as Nora went over to the edge of the sandbox and was greeted.

As far as Nadia was concerned today was shaping up to be a bit of a flop. She had wanted to stay home and watch more dancing instruction videos on the tv. Her mother however seemed to think she didn't spend enough time outside, as well as needed to make more friends like all her siblings had done at her age. She didn't really see the point since most kids her age were boring and useless. It was easier to just let her mother send her off with her older brother Edmund to the park then to argue with her. Sun could be a very stubborn woman, and Nadia was already well aware of it.

They had arrived at the park and while Edmund unloaded his gardening supplies Nadia had peered around the playground. She saw a few human children climbing all over the jungle gym like a bunch of ants on a piece of candy and promptly decided that the empty sandbox was much more preferable.

After a few sand forts built and knocked down, Nadia had discovered that the sandbox was as uninteresting to her as the little mob of human children. She was just seriously considering joining her brother in planting flowers when she noticed a girl her age approaching the sandbox. Nadia could tell right off that the girl was a meta like herself, which made her a bit more willing to talk to her. A carefully placed smile arranged itself on Nadia's face as she looked at the new girl.

"Hello there. I'm Nadia, who are you?" Nadia's words came out well formed and controlled, almost lacking the childish quality that would be normal for her age.

Nora stared for a moments time. She cleared her throat, "I'm Nora." She responded in a dead pan voice. She moved not a muscle, nor batted an eye, simply stared endlessly. Nora couldn't tell what this interaction was, she wasn't sure why the girl seemed so much older but wasn't, it was bizarre. As if she had been on the planet far longer then Nora and yet hadn't been. Nora was puzzled and made a mental note to conduct some calculations in her notebook later. She was unsure as to how one would do that, but supposed that she could find an algorithm to go with the problem. She pushed her little glasses up the bridge of her nose and continued to stare through the new girl. "Is there something I may assist you with?" Nora sighed slightly and placed her little hands in her lap, hoping that this sort of interaction was what her maternal parental figure wanted to see from her.
