Belle lay on her back gazing at the fluffy clouds chugging their way across the blue sky, her spindly legs waving comically in the air above her. She enjoyed watching the different shapes emerge, a tree, a dragon, a rabbit. The last one made her glance off to the left where her last meal lay, completely drained of blood. She found the creature grievously injured and unable to move and had dispatched it quickly and as painlessly as she could manage, rapping it on the head clumsily with a stick. Her nose still glistened wetly but it didn't bother her. She was alone, there was no one around to be frightened off by her appearance. Bell got to her feet and peered around, no monsters in sight. That was good, she had escaped one earlier this morning. Well she hadn't actually seen it, but that was beside the point. She had hid for a little while in a hollow log before she had decided it was safe to emerge. Now, what to do. She was happy to be outside again but she was bored and a little worried that the monsters would find her again if she wasn't careful.

'Foals shouldn't be wandering far out by themselves and I worry about you!' Those words were always repeated, but all the same, never heeded as Abbadon traveled away from his mother and two siblings. The word 'worry' made him snort in disbelief. Why would a beautiful mare like his mother worry about a monster like himself? True, he wasn't blood thirsty like a Kalona or Skinwalker, but all the same... he was different. It was because of this, the colt felt he didn't belong around the family group and often roamed away from them and for long periods of time. What he never understood was why he always returned. Perhaps there was that inner need to belong? Who knows? He thought with a snort as he pressed forward. Being deep in thought, he had almost missed the four legs sticking up from the grass up ahead of him. When the colt did notice them, he stopped, his eyes narrowing at what they could be... or at least, who they belonged to before he pressed any further.
