I'm not quite sure how popular fanfiction is here, so just don't groan at me. ;P
But this goes for both FanFiction and Writing in general. I need help writing. I can't think of plots. I was thinking of maybe making the worst shop on Gaia and offering fanfiction of certain parings for a small price, but then I realized that it would probably very well be the worst shop on Gaia and nobody would visit. So where can I go to ask people for prompts? D; For any kind of story, I'm very open. But I have no idea. I don't have people skills and I don't know how one would properly ask somebody.
So will you help me, ladies? I've been wanting to write very badly, but all of my writer friends are taking breaks from the internet [to write, ironically].
I'd very much appreciate it. ; ~ ;

Well, I guess it depends on what genre you like and a lot of other things. I personally am making a uber crackfic. ninja What are your strengths in writing- meaning, are you good with romance or action? What's the fandom(s) and can you stay in character? For plot ideas, I generally use "What would happen if ______ did ____ ...?"

True. I suppose I want to touch on all genres at least once, but so far the two fanfics I have written are romance. Wait, I just remembered another one I wrote that was... well... weird. It was comedy, I guess?
I've been kind of wanting to challenge myself. I've been kind of craving a good OC story, but I haven't found on yet, so I was thinking of making two. One that's a serious story, and another that has a shameless self-insert to make fun of all the really obvious/bad OC stories there are.
And there are a lot of fandoms I'm willing to write for. xD

The latter sounds like a crackfic. Those are always fun. ninja If you want to try horror, zombie apocalypses are a easy and popular. Even a lot of not-so-well-done ones are usually successful~ Uber crackfics, the ones with self-insert Mary Sues, nonsensical plots and general WTFery, are the easiest and often worth the lulz... but unless you state that it's a joke, be prepared to get trolled. Or show it only to those who get the joke, like I do. Challenge-wise, at least for me, would be like an action fic, but it might be different for you. It just depends on what you're comfortable with.

Why don't you look around you? Or walk around you neighborhood. Open your windows and observe everything.
I think you'd find inspiration to write something from what the world has to offer. biggrin
You could also imagine your character (any random character would do) and ask yourself, just like the question Shady-chan uses for her plot ideas, "What would happen if ____ did ____...?" or any other question.
Good luck on your writing~ 4laugh

Hmm, I've been wanting to open a fanfiction shop myself but figured my fandoms are too obscure/random for it..
Have you written fanfiction before? =] I would suggest practicing for...quite awhile before selling your art, even for a low price.
Try one shots and drabbles. They help churn those creative juices and spark creativity. Crap them out. Just write whatever comes to your head. Once you've got something good going, expand on the plot and there you've got a good base for a full-blown fanfic.
There are several sights avaliable for prompts, even some solely for fanfiction. Search "plot bunnies/prompts" and there will be a ton of results.
