Stepping into a world unfamiliar and made barren by the scotching sun. From seemingly nowhere, a voice echoes off the far-reaching rock canyons. Even in a place that was not as bizarre as this, one would have a great deal of trouble pinpointing where Quinfu was yelling from. "Without a firm foundation a building can not stand. The physical is the real and substantial. To achieve Immortality, a soul be be balanced between the spiritual and the physical. Heaven and earth. But before they can be balanced, they need to be understood. You have been sorted here because of your aptitude towards the physical. You must come to terms with your own physical purity. Purge the impurities."
Even as the wind howls, you can still make out the disembodied voice. "Nidan... the intimate connection of all the world's chakra... well it's not really "chakra"... but I'm sure you'll discover that in time. This principle is hinted at by the art of the Toad Sages... "senjutsu". Your chakra... my chakra... everyone and everything's chakra... past and present...is essentially the same the chakra as "the world's". You'll soon understand... chakra cannot be created or destroyed, it merely changes from one form to another. Here in this special little playground, you can see the physical nature of your chakra as you manifest it. I will give you... well let's call it 1 year to master this... rely on each other for that is the nature of Nidan... and Nidan is Immortality."
RP Note: This location has it's time moving at a much slower rate. 6 months passes inside for 1 hour that would pass in the outside world. That being said, your posts will probably take long spans of time. (Kinda "birds-eye-view") Of course, interaction between characters will be at a normal pace. The training to "master" Vitality (Yang or "Yoton" style) is 2,500 Words. You only have 1 week IRL to do it!!! That means you must do it by May 5th, 2011!

TATSUYA MIYAKI Now I don't believe men are born to be killers, I don't believe the world can't be saved Location: ? Mood: Amazed Ulterior Motives: N/A Thoughts: "What just happened?"
He blinked, and everything was different; the group he was with was gone, and the entire surrounding area was nothing more than a massive crag. Was he alone? The thought shocked him down to the core, though once he turned around his fear was lightly lifted as he discovered that Ren and Denrei were also there. He wasn't happy to see them exactly, but he had been with them long enough to know that they were strong allies. As he looked at them he realized that there was a voice speaking, and not just any voice, Quinfu's. So they would be here for a long time? Fine by him, it meant he had some time to calm down.
"W-What should we do first?"
The boy spoke after the voice was finished, wait, he would be spending a year training with Ren and Denrei? Oh he prayed that the constant exposure to each other would lead to all three of their deaths. Maybe things wouldn't go that sour, maybe everything would turn out alright, maybe they would succeed. Probably not but they weren't just going to lay down and let everything burn around them. Tatsuya wouldn't allow that to happen, even though he wasn't a member of the Southern Division he admired their leader, and took Saru's words to heart, they were the best, and now was just a chance for them to prove it. In a sense. With that the boy made his way over to his team and awaited for the plans to begin flowing out.

He listened to Quingfu's speech without a word. And still without a word, the gears in his mind grinded to a halt and stuck on the word "Immortal." Wait, did they mean him? He was seriously in the running for all this. Huh... go figure. he thought to himself. Surprised as he was about where life was taking him now, he showed no sign of being phased by it because he wasn't. So this was his new task- ok then. Ren would treat it like every other mission, assignment, job he had ever been handed. He would set it as his one and only focus. He would see it through. He would succeed. It had gotten him this far, hadn't it? With his only motivation being not to do nothing; not to be a lazy a**; not to be useless he set his sights on succeeding in every task he was given. Nothing all that "deep" about it, but it had won him the chunin exams, it had gotten him through his missions, it had gotten him to right where he was standing. Maybe he had no idea what it would really be like as an immortal, but why should he stop now? It wasn't like he had anything to go back to anymore... He looked to the two who were in the "room" with him. Denrei and Tatsuya. Go figure. So he'd be going through an entire year training with them... alone... with no body else. He supposed it could be worse. A hand reached for his pocket to grab some pockey, but found it was blocked by his armor. Oh, right. He let the earthen armor crumple off his body and leave him with another layer of dirt coating him. Not even noticing the grime, he pulled out a stick of strawberry pockey and munched while he wondered just what the hell he should do now. Or- what they should do now. Physical purity. Not exactly a goal he'd ever tried aiming at before.

Near silence from his teammates, one he wasn't to amazed with the other on the other hand blew him away. Ren wasn't much for talking, hell he wasn't much for anything, but Denrei more often than not would take the reigns and force them into whatever idea she believed would be the right one. She must have been out of her element...
"I-I think I'm going to go try and find a place that we can sleep... I-If we sleep here... I'm going to go find some shelter."
That's if there was any, but this was by no means a time to be discouraged over something so petty, according to Quingfu they would be here for a year, but the whole reason for them being here was to master something called Nidan. The basic description was more than cryptic and would take time to decode for himself before he even started the training. Though, looking for somewhere to lay down once he needed rest would be of top priority as of now. So he set off, choosing a direction that looked as if its crag would be most merciful in his search for a settlement..

He gave a reflexive nod as he wandered off a few yards, just trying to get some place where he wouldn't be bothering them nor be bothered by them without getting too far off. In all this barren world that never seemed to end, they were his only two reference points for direction. Fan. ********. Tastic. He didn't think where they set up a camp would make much of a difference but he also didn't think he wanted to waste time thinking about trivial thoughts. Quingfu said he was giving them a year but Ren had never believed he had the luxury to procrastinate. He had to get himself at the very least thinking about it. Now. Great. Any bright ideas? Ren asked himself, asbsent-mindedly pacing; kicking at the dirt. 'At's what I thought.

Did he turn at that rock that looked like a massive spire... or was it the one that looked like a big old ball? In all honestly he turned at the rock that looked like a chair, which was some ten miles away in the opposite direction, needless to say, the boy was completely and utterly lost. Not only that but his sense of time was beginning to go completely out of the imaginary window.
"H-has it been four days or fourteen days?"
The boy spoke softly to the lizard by his side, which had been managing to keep Tatsuya from completely being dehydrated with his small variety of water jutsu. However, Aoiro had finally tuckered out to the point that he was just going to lounge around, which was roughly seven days from this point. Tatsuya slowly reached his hand up to scratch away one of the many itches on his flaky cranium but the incredibly messed up and tangled hair prevented the hand from fully getting rid of the itch. In a fit of complete frustration and anger he pulled both hands into the sides of his hair and began shaking his head violently, flushing the already tangled hair into near disrepair. Yep, his mind was on the brink of destruction.

もし何も私がそれを止めるためにすることができること... If there's nothing I can do to stop it... ╔═蓮 新潟════════════════════════╗ Mood: Stiiiill don't ha- huh… that's odd. Doing: Training Status: A tool Location: No ********' idea… damn mapquest.╚════════════════════════蓮 新潟═╝Physical purity. It was just like physical training right? "Without a firm foundation a building can not stand." That was what Quingfu had said. Almost the exact same thing Denrei had said when he was learning earth wall. Ren turned the analogy on a different angle. His body was the foundation and... whatever else was the building. Ok, so maybe he didn't have a full grasp on what that "whatever else" was, but he was pretty sure he had the point. He had the rest of the "year to figure out whatever else he needed. And now he also had the rest of the year to work with what he did get. He sighed as he first decided to take care of one issue. The sun. He made his way back to where he and Tatsuya had parted but couldn't see him. Chances were he'd come back eventually, so Ren decided to simply employ his little solution. He flipped the handseals and used earth wall on the closest rock pillar and spat the chakra-enhanced mud onto the side of it. The wall came out horrizontally creating a roof of sorts to sheild him from the sun's rays. Not wanting to waste time sitting on his lazy a**, he got down and did "X" amount of push ups. He wasn't really keeping track of or caring how many he did. But if he really thought about it, "purity" was just another way of saying "perfection." Physical perfection made more sense to the slumdog shinobi. Maybe that included a few other things, but right now it meant getting his body into the best damn shape as was possible. As he let his body fall into that rhythm, Ren worked on squeezing out whatever other ideas he could as to how he could master this "physical purity" thing. All the while he kept telling himself he had to master this. In one year, he had to master his body. He was sure that this wouldn't be anything akin to an easy year. It wasn't like he was about to let himself have an easy year. The only way he was going to master this was by pushing himself as far as his body could possibly go and then some. He had to master this. He could and ******** dammit he would. He had to. Graduation day- he'd told himself he would not fail. Never. He wasn't worth much and he had no ambition- no ulterior motive that drove him to the top. He never looked to the top with desire, when he looked up it had always been in expectance of his next orders. Even now, he didn't have any real desire for immortality- it wasn't like he was afraid of death. He knew it would come for him one day or another. He just didn't want to decrease his worth any further by failing. Not now.
He leapt up to his feet when he felt like he was about to collapse. He must have been going at it for a long while. There was no way to be certain just how much time was passing, but the fact that his arms felt like they were about to fall off told him it had to be around half past his freckle. Oh my, how time just flies by! But the exhaustion didn't phase him. He wasn't going to get very far with mastering this if he let himself stop when his body had merely reached it's limit. Ren raised his arms in a fighting stance and practiced his taijutsu. If only he had some training montage theme music. He worked relentlessly on his form, on perfecting his physical abilities. Still, he felt like he was only getting so far. And for what? To run his body down until it could go absolutely no further? He suddenly wondered why the hell he was bothering with this success thing. He was here in this impossible place, working his way towards an impossibly incredible goal- just a handful of years ago, the thought that he'd ever get this kind of opportunity would never have even crossed his mind. He would never have even believe that he'd have gotten as far as the Udai Council. Had the ideas been presented to him he would have scoffed and dismissed it, never to bring it up again. Oh big ********' deal. he said to himself. So he was here, so he was aiming at an impossible goal, so it happened all the time. Maybe not quite like this but walk up to any given academy student and ask the brat what their dreams and ambitions were- it would be some high as the sky mark that they secretly believed they had no hope in hell of reaching but stretched out their hand anyway. Some fell short some grabbed it with their own hands and made it their b***h. If Ren's reach fell short now, he'd just be another one of those who'd failed. He didn't believe in taking steps backwards or stopping dead in your tracks. The only way a guy like him would ever get through life was by walking forward towards whatever goal you found in front of you. Just having a goal with a semi plausibility of being able to reach it other than prostitution, drug dealing, theft or becoming a slowly starving gutter rat was more than most of the other kids Ren knew got. The goal in front of Ren right now was called physical ******** purity. Not so much a fire as a dull anger at the thought of himself being stopped in his walk through life sparked something strange in Ren. He was pretty sure this was what most people would call "determination." He didn't understand it and it felt completely alien to him but it was driving his slowly tiring body onward and that was what mattered. His sword was yanked from it's sheath and Ren swung at nothing with deadly accuracy. Everything he knew, taijutsu and kenjutsu was being employed in his fight for physical purity- or perfection- or whatever the hell you wanted to call it! Sleep. Wake up. Train. Sleep. Wake up. Train. Ren fell into this cycle with the same nonchalance that he gave everything. After years of sleeping on a "matress" that made dirt feel like a cloud, he didn't mind just sleeping on the ground. In fact, he was perfectly fine with it. He still wasn't sure how long he'd been going at this for, but it had been a good chunk of time. Whether he was feeling a difference in himself or not, he didn't consider it. He just kept telling himself it wasn't enough as he fell asleep. So as he woke up, his mind was already dead set on pushing himself farther. Whether Tatsuya had found his makeshift shelter or not, Ren took no notice. There was just him and his training.

HIYO MIYAKI There goes my hero... "What the hell are you doing?"
A stern voice blasted into Tatsuya's ear in perhaps the most familiar voice in the boy's short life. The owner of the voice glared directly at the much smaller boy's face with the most disgusted expression plastered upon his clean face. He stood much taller than the younger boy and exerted a thick aura of confidence and general pride.
"If I knew you were going to turn out ape s**t ******** crazy I would have killed you myself."
Brotherly love? Not here. ... he's ordinary

TATSUYA MIYAKI Now I don't believe men are born to be killers, I don't believe the world can't be saved Location: LA-LA LAND Mood: "ape s**t ******** crazy" Ulterior Motives: N/A Thoughts: "Brother?"
Complete shock, complete and utter shock. Was he really there? He knew the voice, and he could never forget the face, the expression was all wrong though. Was his brother scolding him for what he had become?
"B-Brother?"
Tatsuya's face scrunched up in a sort of joyous sadness as he quickly attempted to latch onto the image of his idol, much like a leach would latch onto it's prey. But the embrace would never come, only a swift backhanded smack from the taller boy would meet the Udai member's love and compassion. "WHAT THE ******** HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU? I LEAVE FOR ONE GOD DAMN YEAR AND YOU ******** EVERYTHING UP?! YOU GO OFF AND JOIN THAT RETARDED ORGANIZATION, YOU WENT AND FAILED MY MISSION FOR ME, THANKS BY THE WAY, AND YOU ******** STOLE MY GOD DAMN GIRLFRIEND! WHAT THE HELL YOU LITTLE b*****d?"The look of despair and anguish on Tatsuya's face was nine different kinds of priceless, he was a hot, sweaty mess and literally lacked the hydration to shed tears. He metaphorically and almost literally squirmed on the ground in his misery sobbing silently as the larger male continued to rant and rave about how much of a failure the smaller male was.
"B-B-Broth-""Don't you ******** "brother" me! You little piss-stain! First I hear you try to pick up where I left off and live MY ******** life? Hell no! When the ******** did I tell you to do any of that s**t? NEVER!"As he screamed he repeatedly began kicking his downed counterpart in his gut. Literally kicking the boy while he was down and seemingly defenseless. "DID YOU HEAR THAT? I didn't want my little c**t of a brother to try and fit in my ******** shoes! And what the hell was that with Ichi? He was my best ******** friend and you treated him like he was the pile of s**t that you obviously are! You can't even be me right! Just ******** die you little maggot."The only sound that filled the air around the two boys was the panting coming from the larger male and the thuds of the repeating downed kicks that Tatsuya was receiving from his 'brother.' Then as if a dormant volcano receiving a new lease on life a surge of anger and emotions erupted from the smaller boy as he caught the leg of his attacker.
"SHHHHHHH-UT THE ******** UP! I don't care what you think you... you... asshat!"
In a quick motion the boy rolled from his pitty puddle and back onto his feet, he still looked like he'd been lost from human interaction for years but his entire bout of emotion was completely different. He glared deeply at the figure before him. It was Hiyo alright, and he sure was still a complete a*****e that needed to be put in his place, and without his father to do so, Tatsuya would have to do it himself. With his right hand he quickly tore the dagger from his waist and pointed it threateningly at the chest of it's last victim."Pfft! You wouldn't touch me with that ******** thing, you don't have the balls to do anything with it.""I do when it's you that's getting stabbed by it."
Then in one swift motion the boy unleashed a chunk of his chakra into the sword which sent it's tip extending almost instantaneously into the larger boy's throat and out the back of his skull, dead again from the same weapon. Immediately after the deed was done Tatsuya pulled the dagger back in, reverting it back to it's proper size.
"Oh, and one more thing. A b*****d like you doesn't deserve Shiso."
And with that the boy replaced his dagger at his side and spat at the older male's "corpse" but to the outside world it would appear that the little boy got into a heated argument with a rather tall cactus, ending with him cursing it and taking the top five inches of the plan'ts main stalk completely off then spitting on the remains.

もし何も私がそれを止めるためにすることができること... If there's nothing I can do to stop it... ╔═蓮 新潟════════════════════════╗ Mood: Determined... well that's new Doing: Training Status: A tool Location: No ********' idea… damn mapquest.╚════════════════════════蓮 新潟═╝Ⱥwake again. Back on his feet. Back to relentless training that Ren refused to let end until either he mastered his body or dropped from the exhaustion. Seeing as how he hadn't yet mastered the "physical purity" thing, he would just have to wait until he passed out again. If he was still conscious, it must mean that his body still had the ability to keep on going, so it would. He would keep going and going and going. Because he could. Because he had to. Because he would not let the life his parents gave him go to waste. Maybe they hadn't really been able to do much for him, and he had to become a ninja to pay off their debts but A: he was partially responsible for them and B: it was only because of the shitty experience he called his life that he was here. Every event in a person's life, no matter how trivial or insignificant it may seem, led them to exactly the spot where they stood. If one thing in his life had gone differently, maybe he would be somewhere completely different. The other side of their world. Still in Mist. Still in the slums. Or even Dead. This wasn't to say he "appreciated" having a half a childhood and a shitty one at that, he didn't care enough to either smile about it or let himself be dragged down by it. Life was a chain reaction, and he just had to flow with it. Struggling against life didn't do anything. You'd still be living, you'd just be unnecessarily miserable in it. Jump kick and a slash with his sword. He wasn't using Quick Draw but his arm still moved pretty rapidly once you stuck Hyarinondo in his hand. The moment he woke he started with practicing his taijutsu by kicking the hell out of the air. When he could no longer stand, he worked on increasing his flexibility while he replenished his energy. Once he'd "rested" enough to start back up again he'd go through as many sit ups, push ups and pull ups using the roof he'd made as his body could handle. It seemed to go on for endless hours before he finally fell panting, but still he would force himself back on his feet. He worked on perfecting the finer details of the form of his sword fighting skills that he may have overlooked. Footwork, the efficiency of his strikes- any skill he felt could be perfected, he worked on. He even gave his clothes a shake down to get rid of some of the dirt that coated them. It had only occurred to him while he was flat on his back, eyes being burned out of his head by the blinding light of the sun. Ren simply didn't notice the dirt on him anymore, not that he ever really did. Every place he went seemed cleaner than his house and the grime that hugged him like the childhood blanket he never had, had become a part of him. Yeah. Right. As if he actually gave thought that deep for some smears of mud and dust. If it were possible for him to take a bath, maybe he would have. The last one he'd ever had was when he was.... seven. In the hospital. His house had no shower and not many people in the slums ever saw reason to bathe since whatever filth they collected would just find it's way back on their bodies like a magnet. Some tried cleaning themselves in the little river, but even they were a little iffy about how sanitary that water was! He probably had some sort of scent on him but he just couldn't tell anymore. But even with shaking out his clothes and using his old pants as a towel to wipe away the worst of what covered his body being the best he could do as far as cleanliness was involved, it was still a noticeable improvement for the boy. General taijutsu again. It was slower and had a heavy, dragging look but there was still some power in his body as he attacked invisible target number eight hundred thirty-one. He kept at it a while longer, but as he came down from a jump kick, his legs refused to hold him up any longer. Hitting the ground with a rough thud, Ren was out like a light. Again. Groaning as he woke, Ren noticed that once again Tatsuya was nowhere in sight. Just like every other time he woke up. He couldn't say "morning" or "day" because he was never sure how long he'd been training before he collapsed or what time of day it was at all. Time didn't seem to hold any relevance in Ren's mind aside from the fact that he had a deadline of one year. How much time had passed? He knew it was a lot. Could he say exactly how much? No. Oh well. It just meant he'd have to pick up the pace if he wanted to reach physical purity before time was up. Testing each limb as he lay on the crude, unforgiving earth, he made sure none of them were going to cramp on him. Cause if he did, that could be a bit of a b***h. All seemed well and good. He leapt up to is feet and ran his routine again… and again… and one more time… You want an encore of all that, you got it! He began measuring his "days" with how long his training ran. "Morning" was whenever he was able to raise his throbbing head and "night" was when he blacked out from exhaustion. How long he slept, he couldn’t measure but it never felt very long. He always made sure he was well rested before starting though. He couldn't get the most out of his training if he was drowsy right off the bat.

In all honesty, he was fine letting the boy be but Quingfu had mentioned something about "relying on each other" and "the nature of Nidan" so he figured he might as well give it a half-assed try. He climbed up on his roof and leapt up the rock pillar it jutted out from. It required some climbing but none that put any strain on him. Pulling himself up on to the top, he looked out over their big empty world and called his name. "Ooi! Tatsuyaaa! Tatsuyaaaaa!" Ren couldn't see any of the details on the ground below, much less one boy but he hoped that where ever he was, he could hear him. If he wanted to find Ren again, he probably wasn't too hard to spot if Tatsuya hadn't gone too too far. Doing: Training Status: A tired as s**t tool Location: No ********' idea… damn mapquest.╚════════════════════════蓮 新潟═╝Well a lot of good that did. Ren gave a shrug and made his descent. No one could say he didn't try. He just didn't try very hard. He eagerly slipped back under the stone roof he'd made to escape the sun's blazing heat.
And the cycle just continued on from there. Occasionally Ren would allow him a day or two of rest when he'd injured himself during training the previous "day." He used the abundant free time to finish reading the books and manga he still had with him. When he'd done that, he reread them. He made "meals" out of the bits of food that were crammed down at the bottom of his bag, but he ate sparingly for two reasons. One: what he had in there wasn't much and most of it was pocky and two: if he ate too much of the little he had to put in his stomach, he probably would just end up puking it up. But other than these few and far between times, any who passed by him would see Ren training himself mercilessly for hours upon hours on end. Any who tried to talk to him would probably go unnoticed, what with his mind so strictly focused that he often lost track of the world. (Not that there were too many people around to watch him.) Sometimes he forgot where he was. There was him. His body. And perfecting every physical aspect of it. As the weeks and months passed, Ren's body grew stronger. His features grew harder. His eyes were forever dead set in determination. Determination to never fail. Determination never to be useless. With his body growing stronger, he hoped that meant his worth was increasing. But whether it did or not, he didn't stop to think. He didn't stop to ask. He just strove towards his goal and if any added worth resulted in it, that was all well and good with him. He no longer aimed at the air, but at the stone pillar. Even starting out, he didn't care how bloody his knuckles got or how much the stung each time they were split open. The flesh on them just grew harder, strengthening along with his body. He didn't know exactly what "perfection" was- of anything really. But if he had to judge himself, he'd say he was at least closer to it than he had been when he'd first entered the scorching hot, rocky, barren land. But closer wasn't good enough. He himself on and would continue to do so until someone told him that time was up. If he was forgotten and left out here, he would still continue. Some many months ago he had been given his task, his goal to strive towards. Until he reached it- the only other stop would be death. Mist Village teachings lesson 1: If there is not success, there is death. If there is failure, you'd better hope you're dead. Apathy left plenty of room to take in these lessons. So Ren had nonchalantly carved them into his mind, and there they'd stick forever. Two hits and a kick followed by a hard slash with Hyarinondo. Gradually the rock had eroded away with each strike, leaving shallow craters in the side underneath Ren's roof as well as under the sun, though those were much less noticeable. Only now and then did he torture himself by training out in the open sun, leaving him with an unhealthy looking cross between a tan and a sunburn. But that had faded away since the last time he'd done so. He was back to pale, lanky, but adequately muscular Ren. As he fell flat on his back again, a single, passing thought crossed his mind. "Damn… 'ow much longa' is 'is gonna go on?"

TATSUYA MIYAKI Now I don't believe men are born to be killers, I don't believe the world can't be saved Location: Between the Pink Elephant and the Purple Dragon Mood: Enlightened Ulterior Motives: N/A Thoughts: "OH HAI THAR!"
His mental stability was reaching its bitter end, and Tatsuya was still no closer to understanding what the mystical voice had said at the beginning of this trial. But the best he could do at this point was survive, all he had was his companion, Aoiro, and the weapons at his side, and with a month into the trial the boy seemed to be doing well. Granted his new smug attitude after his little confrontation with his brother had to do with the fact that he was dead set on proving he could survive on his own, but the whole lack of water was starting to take an adverse effect on the boy. In a short sense Tatsuya was slowly becoming feral; his mind was reverting back to the primitive stages of thinking, fighting with his bare hands, rarely did he ever pull out one of his swords to kill the random creatures he encountered.
Something good was coming from it though; Tatsuya’s small body slowly became toned under the constant training of survival. In the rough elements were many unbelievable battles with creatures Tatsuya had never seen, save for the smaller versions that made up his world. In all honesty the boy would have died weeks ago had he not had his little run-in with Hiyo. After the traumatic incident the boy was finally able to sleep, which meant that he was able to rest up after his battles with the various creatures, as well as the physical training he took under.
This day though, this day was going to be perhaps the most beneficial day thus far. He woke up to find Aoiro standing on his pattered face with another rather large brown lizard practically growling at the much smaller one. Lucky for Tatsuya, Aoiro had been keeping the large lizard away from the boy, and lucky for Aoiro, Tatsuya was awake. There wasn’t much planning dictating inside the boy’s mind, no he hadn’t been planning as much as he had been fighting the animals bare handed, getting much more benefit from the encounters. In a quick moment the boy stripped away his upper uniform, creating more skin to grip onto the beast.
“Listen here you big lug! Get away from my buddy!”
Tatsuya pulled his small toned arms into his body into something that resembled a bodybuilding pose, one in which it made his arm and chest muscles more prominent. As the lizard attempted to bring his massive foot down on the pair Tatsuya extended his arms to catch its scaly appendage. The boy’s small hands collided with the lizard’s skin, forcing it to stop in its place. While Tatsuya glared at the lizard he allowed his companion Aoiro to escape from under the attack, and once the lizard was clear he allowed the foot to bury him completely in the sand around him, though as the lizard pulled it’s leg up Tatsuya grabbed onto the foot and began crawling around on the lizard’s scales to give him the leverage to pull himself up.
Once he was on the lizard’s foot Tatsuya quickly drew one of his many swords and simply tossed it into the beast’s foot, completely piercing it through. In reaction to the damage the lizard let out a massive groan of pain and reared it’s leg up, to which Tatsuya jumped over to the lizard’s front foot and repeated the process, rendering the animal’s entire front set of feet useless and flailing in the air while Tatsuya was thrown up by the sudden jerk. As he descended towards the pained animal’s head Tatsuya drew a third sword and used the combined force of his newly formed muscles and gravity to ram the point of the ninjato deep into the lizard’s right eyeball, sending a large fountain of blood spewing from the fresh wound and onto Tatsuya’s bare chest, sending the crimson liquid splattering all around the two combatants. One winner and one loser, one predator and one prey, one survivor and one not so much of a survivor.
The massive beast was slain, and now Tatsuya and Aoiro would be surviving another day, perhaps two depending on how long the meat stayed, which was highly unlikely. Tatsuya would have to prepare as much as he could eat in the day and leave the rest to rot. So he began, retrieving his swords the boy began to skin the animal of its hide, perhaps he would be able to make something from it, though the only think he figured would result from it would be a rather smelly and uncomfortable blanket, still if he was going to survive he was going to need to use everything that he got from the barren world he found himself in. Once he had finished removing as much hide as he figured he would be able to use he laid it out for Aoiro to begin cleaning using his water jutsu, being sure to remove as much of the blood from the skin as lizardly possible. From there Tatsuya began using his small dagger to cut along the major tendons of the joints in the fallen lizard’s leg. Maybe he wouldn’t be able to eat all of the flesh he was getting from it but he sure as heck would try. As the boy sat in his and Aoiro’s small dank cave he and the lizard feasted upon their crudely cooked lizard meat. It was salty for some reason, but he wasn’t going to complain. Still, he did the same thing he did every night he had the privilege to a good meal; he pondered on the few words he was given at the beginning of this journey, for some reason they remained etched into his memory, refusing to vacate, as if refusing to let the boy give up on what he was so determined to do so long ago.
“ Chakra cannot be created or destroyed, it merely changes from one form to another…”
The words echoed in his head when it suddenly clicked just as Tatsuya was about to take another bite from the lizard meat. In that instant he quickly flung his meal to the floor and stood staring blankly at the meat, everything had chakra, and it was possible for it to pass from one being to another through different methods. When Tatsuya killed an animal and ate he not only took their flesh but he took their chakra as well, turning it into his own. He thought back, back to how he would generate chakra. If what Quingfu said was right then he never created it from within himself, he and everyone else that could use chakra got it from the world around them. So they wanted him to learn something he already knew? Something he did without knowing? No, they wanted him, Ren, and Denrei to master it, to be able to do it on their own without limits, well, Tatsuya was only a month into this which meant he still had eleven more.
So it began, every day the boy woke up in the same way, and spent the day’s entirety doing one thing, sitting atop the rock within his cave, focusing deeply upon what he determined was the right direction. He sat and focused his body, focused his chakra into the exits of his skin then dispersing it outward forcing his body to continually pull chakra from the much larger pool that was the world’s. He felt it, he grew accustomed to how it felt as the chakra replenished within himself only to have it be released soon after. He stayed in place, stopping only to sleep, at least for the first couple months of his training. After a while the boy just stopped sleeping, he didn’t need to or at least his body told him he didn’t, he just sat there, drawing in chakra then releasing it.
As months passed so did the boy’s youth, as he focused and stopped moving the boy’s body grew longer almost in unison with his hair, however, his body stayed in the exact state it was when he started. His bones did not frail, nor did his muscles deteriorate. He was seemingly perfectly preserved in his state of meditation, though, the longer he stayed the more his mind opened, his mind grew hungry for the sanity it had lost during his wandering in the first month, and soon it was given back. Tatsuya continued on into his restful months, allowing them to pass like days until he slowly opened his eyes and peered upon the world in which he had been living. The first thing he saw was his friend Aoiro, sitting and waiting for him, the faithful creature had been at his side, only leaving to hut for himself on smaller creatures, which had extended to animals the size he was when the year had started; the lizard had easily grown by at least three more feet, most of it in its tail, while his main body grew wider. The animal was by no means as large as the lizard Tatsuya had fought ten months previous but he was much larger. Come to think of it, the ground looked farther away, and his small dank rock opening was looking less spacious, had he grown as well? Possibly, he was about the right age for a growth spurt, especially since Hiyo had gone through one when he was bout this age, but he grew by nearly a foot, Tatsuya hadn’t even grown half of that.
It took a moment for the boy to gain his bearings before he continued outside and into the sunlight where he found the catalyst that saved him from aimlessly wondering around in this wasteland. It was what he could explain as the lizard’s bones sprawled about on the crag; the image was something Tatsuya couldn’t stop from grinning at, he owed so much to the creature’s sacrifice, granted he was the reason it was sacrificed but that didn’t matter right now. The boy slowly walked up to the large skull and slowly placed his forehead to it.
“Thank you for being a guide, thank you for showing me the way, and thank you for your sacrifice.”
Tatsuya stood there for a moment, silently letting the entire scene play out in his head of his slaying of the creature for his own survival; he didn’t even know what Aoiro was being defensive about, had they actually been the ones that had trespassed upon that lizard’s home? Or were Aoiro and it being territorial in general? He would have to consult Quingfu later, he would know, he obviously knew everything that happened here. With that the boy slowly began his journey back to where he had started, in his meditation he felt as if it was in his best interest to start walking in one direction. The one he was going in now, hopefully he would see Denrei and Ren, for once he would be happy to see them.

The area around her had changed. One moment, she was in the tower itself. The next moment, she felt herself thrust into a wasteland, an area devoid of mostly anything except rocks and Sand. There were some other people there, though she wasn't sure of who they were, or what was quite going on. But, to Kiko, that didn't matter at the moment. She needed to train, to fix things within herself, to become the strongest she could. After all, there were people outside depending on her. She had promised Akeru, after all. And Kiko had promised to protect Ichi, and the people she cared about-this was all for them; it wouldn't go to waste.Tsukiko Jounin Theme
