The dance had been fun, a pleasant diversion and a great chance to wear something to scandalous for class. Even her minipets had a good time and thankfully didn't stir up trouble. She and Barth even had a turn on the dance floor and apparently sloth demons could be quite the dancers. Who knew right? Still the evening had slowly drawn to a close and now it was time to head back to the dorms. The fall breeze nipped at Sin's skin and turned the purple shade a bit paler. She didn't feel cold though, she felt warm inside still from having such a pleasant evening. She had to admit she was afraid it would be a disaster, but Barth had been charming, certainly more so then some boils she had gone out with.
The pairs at the dance had been interesting as well, an observation that she would have to spend more time on later. Demons paired with undead at a social function, her mind was still trying to wrap around it. Of course she was also still trying to get over her own prejudices as well. She had discovered that the fine social lines that had been drawn out for her from birth didn't apply as strictly here at school.
Still there were some social niceties that Sin refused to relinquish, such as allowing a boil to walk you back to your room...and the kiss goodnight.

Walking a date back to her room may not be in a Sloth demon's particular ring of etiquette, but they lived in the same dorm, so it wasn't like the trip was....agonizingly far.
Barth, too, felt like the evening had been a success. He'd accomplished most of what he'd wanted to accomplish. Not making up with Lilith, certainly. But he was a firm believer in...long-term agendas.
Sin certainly lived up to her species. She'd accommodated him and kept pace perfectly, an expert in complimenting her partner and looking good doing it. In charm, beauty, and poise, she was a force to be reckoned with. He could see why she fit so easily into the upper rungs of the social ladder.
As they neared her room, however, the analysis fell away to regular nervousness. "Well," he said, "here we are." He added sincerely, "...I had a frightful time, Sin."

Charming, that was the word for Barth, he was incredibly charming without effort. Perhaps it was his laid back attitude that put others at ease, or perhaps it was the little things he seemed to do so well that caught those with low expectations off guard. His dancing for example had been a pleasant thrill after the way she had to wrestle to get him dressed and to the dance at all.
Then his voice hit her, edgy, she normally would have enjoyed making a boil squirm, but she liked Barth. Not in the sense that she wanted him as a boil-friend but as a fellow demon. He had made her evening pleasant and she saw no reason not to make his equally as enjoyable.
She slowly reached to take Barths hand and moved in a bit closer with only the slight sway of her hips. She slowly smiled and tilted her head trying to put him at ease again. "I did too...you're an incredible dancer you know. I'm surprised and lucky that every ghoul in school didn't try to monopolize you for this."

Barth smiled. "To be frank, I would be extremely surprised if anyone had been able to take their eyes off you long enough to notice my muddling about."
The closed distance, unfortunately, only made him more nervous. He was not exactly sure how much goodbying succubi required, for formal occasions. ...Maybe only a little goodbying? He was not opposed to it, strictly, it was the overzealous goodbying that worried him.

"I'm sure everyone's mind was on their own particular affairs tonight. I'm just glad we both managed to enjoy ourselves." She had to struggle not to grin or even laugh at the way he seemed to get even more nervous. Did he think she was going to maul him? Hardly, then again her species did have sort of a reputation, but she was hardly a ravager of males. Besides she had her own special someone, even if he was far away, even if she didn't know his name.
"I would invite you in...but it's gotten so late and I know you need your sleep." She grinned at him, he would probably rather be snoozing at this second. She slowly leaned in though, because she did want to give him a soft kiss, a thank you kiss. He had made her night special, and much nicer then she had thought it would be. Even if she didn't feel that particular way for Barth, there were many styles of kissing and Sin liked them all.

Barth finally relaxed as she let him off the hook for continuing the date...err, further.
Of course. He should have expected Sin to handle the evening's end as gracefully as the rest of it. He gently returned Sin's grip on his hand, and leaned down to meet her.
Barth's kissing was just as slow as his dancing, and he smiled into that too, relieved, for once, to be so easily read and understood. A little goodbying, he didn't mind at all.

As with his dancing Barth's skill when it came to the art of kissing was a bit of a pleasant surprise. Sin relaxed as she felt him match the tone, good they both knew what they wanted and what they didn't. Her fingers slowly moved up to gently run through his hair and knead gently at his scalp close to his impressive horns. She was confident he wouldn't mind the subtle massage, then again it might put him to sleep. She smiled into the kiss tilting her head a little more to savor it.
This night had been wonderful, despite her panic at the way things had gone off at the auction. Not to mention her horror at Barth's sluggishness when it came to getting ready for the dance. Still the demon managed to impress, she had a feeling he would sail through life that way, impressive but always a little too late to take the spotlight. Not her type, maybe if she had been a little more relaxed, a bit less ambitious, then Barth would be the boil for her to set her sights on. As it was she knew he'd make a good friend, and his involvement in the club made her consider him an interesting prospective ally.
