 Xiaoshi took a deep breath and walked back onto solid ground. Living out in the middle of a desert was okay some of the time but to get anywhere you had to go over the large sand dunes. She looked around for Esus and frowned wondering where her perverted bird brain of a friend was. She supposed she could call him her mate but they hadn’t really brought that issue up yet. However if he asked what would she answer with. Why would he ask when ever he showed affection she often tried to attack him for it.
She blamed her "Parents". They had been very much in love and when they had accidentally had her decided that well parenthood wasnt what they thought it was and dumped her off in a frozen waist land. Okay he was really late now, she had said the right time hadnt she? With a sigh she raised her paw and rubbed the bridge of her nose. It would be Esus alright if he had forgotten the whole meeting and was off arguing with his sister again. Ah well she guessed she could gather some herbs for the time being she was certain unia could probably use them.
Of course with a sigh she realized she was also near lunarie lands. “Why oh why do I have a problem with getting lost” she stated. She was never this bad maybe Esus was right and she had been spending too much time in the desert. Ah well that’s why she was out here in the forest instead of back at her oasis. Her last batch of children had finally grown up and she had finished taking care of them so she had plenty of free time on her hands.

 Esus was quite patiently flying over the entirety of the western desert border. He was, in fact, slightly late for the meeting with Xiaoshi...but she wasn't where she said she was going to be either. Esus had an amusing hunch that his sharp tongued Angel had gotten herself lost again. It was the heat, he decided as he winged over the area that nearly bumbed up against the Lunarie border.
Ah! There she was. Esus banked and circled over her, noting that she looked lost in her own thoughts at the moment. It didn't look like what she was thinking was making her particularly happy either.
Esus landed with a small bump to alert her to his presence and trotted over. "You tried your best, Angel, but I found you anyway." Esus said, trying to tease her out of her mood.

Xiaoshi heard the slight movement of wings right before the bump and looked over at Esus. Ah well look he had arrived. She went to say something when he teased her a bit. Oh well that might be the reason why he was late, sort of hard to be on time when she hadn’t exactly gone to the right meeting spot. It wasn’t her fault though, navigating deserts where tricky especially during a small little sand storm.
“Oh noes you caught me” she took on a wounded sway before staggering back a few steps and mock falling down onto the ground out in a dead like posture. Hey she could be silly at times as well.

Esus chuckled lightly. Looked like his Angel was going to be silly today. "Ahahaha! I am victorious!" He said, going along with her game. He puffed out his chest and flared his wings to make himself look extra big. He sauntered over to his fallen Angel, "Do I get my booty now?" he asked, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek before she could answer.
"Cause I'll take another of those." Esus grinned down at Xiaoshi and waggled his eyebrows at her in a silly manner. He waved his tail happily, wondering if she was going to kill him in a second.

“You just believe that you silly mouse” she stated shaking her head. She supposed he could move up in the world. Of course he did look rather ridiculous sitting there and puffing himself out. As she went to answer him he took a kiss before daring to ask for another. She glared at him for a few seconds before sighing and sitting up.
“This is for acting silly and not getting permission” she stated smacking him in the face with her tail. Hesitantly seconds later she reached up and kissed him lightly on the nose, “that’s for … well because I felt like it she stated quickly dashing into the expanse of forest in front of her.

"Mouse?!" He said indignantly, making his voice come out in a squeak, "I'm no mouse. Angel! How could you...." Esus trailed off in his mock tirade, eyes widening in surprise, when Xiaoshi first smacked him across the nose, then actually gave him another kiss. And then she ran off.
Esus blinked at the place the female had disappeared before scowling. "Wait a minute! You can't just do something like that and disappear!" He grumbled after her, dashing after the teasing vixen. "Angel!" He said in a near sing-song, "don't make me catch you."

“Yep mouse… I like mice. They are cute and fluffy and squeaky and you are fluffy and squeaky so that makes you a mouse I believe” she teased darting her head from out behind a tree. She was still silently giggling over his expression. She liked watching mischief. It was better when she hadn’t caused it but at the same time the expression was pretty priceless.
“I think I just did. After all you kiss me and then jump back out of range. I thought I should see what all the fuss was about. My name isn’t Angel so I guess you aren’t talking to me.” She teased again heading into the thicker forest. It still wasn’t in lunarie lands so she would be fine.

Esus spread his wings and flew to right in front of Xiaoshi, blocking her progress. "Cute, huh?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. "How nice of you to tell me, though you do it in such a way." He grinned down at the female.
"And I am definitely talking to you, Xi-ao-shi." He said, drawing her name out. "And the only reason I jump out of range is because you always seem to want to bite me after. If that's not the case, I'll be sure to stay put next time." Esus pointed out, turning his grin into an out and out evil smirk.

“Hmmm I think I recall saying Fluffy and squeaky. There was no cute involved.” Xiaoshi said frowning. He was such a cheater. Oh she would have unia make some potion that would give her wings and she would kick his butt for all his cheating. So what she was a girl they where allowed to bite back the boys when said phim boys stole kisses they weren’t supposed to get.
“Then you are going to want to put the ao with the Xi and then add in the shi.” She said deadpan. She nibbled on her bottom lip wondering why she hadn’t just murdered him in his sleep yet. Well other than the sad expression Hibari would have when she told him what happened to his son. He had another one though, right? She leaned forward and went a bit still and silent just staring at him as thought there would be some mystery she could figure out.

"Uh-uh..." Esus said, flicking an ear. "You said cute the first time, then cut it out the second time. It was your subconscience. And I'm not squeaky, just fluffy and cute." He pointed out, smiling down at Xiaoshi.
"But, Angel is the only nickname you allowed me. I have to make use of it, my little poet." he pointed out. He watched her lean closer to him and stare and he couldn't help himself. He leaned close to her and stole another kiss.
"You, my dear Xiaoshi-Angel, are absolutely adorable no matter what strange thoughts you have." He said, smiling down at her again.

“That’s because I was talking about mice, they are cute and fluffy and squeaky, which I said.” She stated although she was still looking at him and debating something. His comment about nick names floated through and she briefly remembered when they had first met when he had gone through the nicknames. It brought a smile to her lips but it disappeared quickly.
She wandered back to the time when she had called him annoying like the sun to one of her tribe mates as he seemed to like hanging around the tribe recently. Suddenly the adorable crossed her thought and she looked up with an expression like she was going to cry. Of course this was the bad crying.
It was the last thing her parents had said before they left her, “Don’t worry you’ll be fine your adorable after all, we just cant be parents” and then the whole fiasco with the jerk who had trampled on her heart.

Esus dropped all pretense at teasing at the look on her face. "What? What's wrong? What did I say?" He asked, knowing that it was obviously something he'd said that had triggered something. He thought back at what he'd said, but he couldn't figure out which word it was.
The Phim dragged his wings tight to his body and sank to his belly so that he wouldn't loom over her. He reached out and nuzzled her neck gently. "Come on, Xiaoshi, tell me what I said and I wont say it again." Esus frowned. She didn't like nicknames and seemingly innocent words made her feel bad. Esus had a feeling that he was going to have to beat someone up before too long.

“It’s… its nothing really just bad memories I guess. The world adorable never comes with anything good” Xiaoshi stated refusing to look at him. She felt kind of bad ruining Esus good mood but she had mentioned nicknames didn’t go over well. Ugh she wondered why she was still got so worked up about this all.
‘I wasn’t exactly abandoned while still in the bcr, like my friend Frey was. I grew up with them for a bit before they decided that parenting just wasn’t for them. They liked to say I was adorable just like you did” Xiaoshi explained. She could have also pointed out the boyfriend thing again but she figured Esus already wanted to track the normal down to kick his but, as much as she would like it there could have been a chance for it to go bad.

Esus let loose an uncharacteristic growl that sounded nearly feral. What kind of parents would shower their kid with compliments then abandon them? Not to mention that other fox she had mentioned before. He had a feeling something had happened with him as well that she didn't want to mention. Perhaps he should add tracking down her parents to his list of things to do...but first he was going to set this female straight about something.
The phim stood up and and looked Xiaoshi dead in the eye to make sure she knew he was serious. "Listen Xiaoshi and listen well. I am going to call you some nice names. Adorable, cute, sweet, whatever I happen to think you're acting like at that time. And you are going to be okay with that. Not right away, maybe, but you are going to get used to it because I. Am. Not. Leaving. You're stuck with me, Xiaoshi, for a good long time."

Xiaoshi shook her head and cleared the sad face. She hadn’t cried in years and it wasn’t like she was going to make a habit of it at the moment. Crying wasn’t necessarily weak but at the same time it left you feeling just as crappy as before you started. She saw no absolute need for it. She looked up when Esus growled. Well it was an expected result but it was still rather startling when the normally calm phim did such a thing. You didn’t really expect it from modiphims but thinking back at it they were carnivores as well right?
She blinked as he was giving her a lecture or a promise? Oh she wasn’t going to be ok with Adorable or cute but maybe in the future she would tolerate them more… instead of breaking down with sad faces she would just smack him with a paw. “Geez you are just as annoying as the sun” She stated bonking on the nose. To show that she did appreciate what he had just said she leaned forward and gave his check a little affectionate lick before diving into the near by river.
