Charades? PRP Charlotte and Idonea

[Insane Butterfly]

Charlotte waddled to the stream for a quick drink, but before she could get a drink she caught sight of her reflection in the water, her stomach bulging with babies, and squawked at how fat she looked. She hadn't seen her reflection at this angle and didn't realize how big she really was. Her eyes were wide, staring until the dryness in her mouth recalled her to the real reason she was at the stream. She tried not looking at her reflection by closing her eyes, but it was burned into her mind now. She looked up as she thought and wondered if the stream was exaggerating. Surely her belly wasn't possibly that big. *she looked at her stomach and frowned, it didn't look that big from this angle...

She wandered further from her herd searching for her friend Amelia. It's been a while since she'd seen her and she wanted to see how her good friend was fairing today. Sure, she understood that Amelia had things she was preoccupied by but it never stopped then in the past from sneaking off to see one another. The bell on her collar jingled and chimed with every heavy step the mare made. She was large and not just in the way that drafts were large. She was even slightly bigger than other drafts but her coat was smooth soft and fluffy. She'd gotten the softness of her coat from her father and mother but mostly she seemed to favor her mother in all her looks. The feathers in her mane fluttered about in the air as she walked towards the stream, the thought of a drink welcome.

Charlotte was rather busy fretting over weather the stream had made her look fatter than she really was, so she didn't quite notice the other mare until she was there. Charlotte blinked and looked at the large mare curiously. She was sure she hadn't seen such a large horse before and looked down to her legs which were covered in pretty, feathered long fur. Smiling in greeting, noting she was staring at her, a blush crept along her cheeks. "You have beautiful fur, Miss." And then realizing she didn't introduce herself she smiled again. "My name is Charlotte."

She noted the made was taking in note of her features and smiled some only to frown when the other mare spoke. This was the issue she so often had when meeting others without Amelia around to sort of... translate for her. Still, she'd try her best to communicate all the same. Nodding a couple times she wiggled her ears happily. She thought to introduce herself but didn't want to risk yelling. She pondered for a moment as she looked at the other mare. Of course the other mare would have to be let known of her deafness some how. Flicking here ears in a pattern, she then shook her head frowning slightly to let the other mare know she couldn't hear.

Charlotte blinked at the mare, trying to understand what she was meaning. Why didn't she talk? She noticed her flicking her ears oddly and figured perhaps she couldn't talk, and thats why, but it didn't make complete since. Her eyes widened. "Can you not hear?"

Watching the other's mouth intently, she nodded vigorously at he other mare's words. Still she gave a polite, friendly smile. it wasn't always all that bad not being able to hear. Sure occasionally it was a bit frustrating when others spoke to fast to read their words.. or they shied away when you tried to feel the vibrations of their voice.. But beyond that.. lacking her hearing wasn't entirely... bad.

"Oh.." Her eyes widened slightly and she formed the word slowly. Apparently this mare was good at reading lips. She smiled and introduced herself, again forming the words carefully. "My name is Charlotte, its lovely to meet you." She smiled happily at the much larger mare, and wondered briefly if she had always been unable to hear. But of course it was a rude question and settled for wincing when one of the foals squirmed and kicked out at her insides. Sometimes she was sure they were roughhousing.

She smiled as the mare introduced herself. Carefully, she managed out a small whisper of one word. "Idonea." It was her name nothing more. Talking too much right off she feared might cause her voice to waver and become too loud. Her eyes then drew to the bulging sides of the mare's belly. In her excitement, she hadn't realized the other mare was heavy with foal. Pointing with her nose at the mare's belly, she cocked her head to the side in question before shuffling her feet a few times to cause her bell to jingle happily. It was a happy thought that new life would be making it's way into the world.

Charlotte barely caught the word she spoke but presumed it must be her name. "Idonea? That's a beautiful name!" She noticed the mares interest in her stomach and smiled serenely. "Yes, I'm pregnant. They should be here any day now!" She grinned happily at the thought, though there wasn't much to be unhappy about when she had everything she could have possibly asked for.

She smiled brightly. Children were wonders of their own or at least she thought. She was glad to see that the mare before her was at least happy with the news. "They come in time.." She smiled as she whispered. She was young and didn't have any plans of foals for the time but it was always nice to see the expectant mothers in the spring.

"Indeed they do." Charlotte smiled sweetly to the other mare, then perked her ears up. "Its a lovely day, is it not?" She swished her tail back and forth through the grass, enjoying the cool breeze that ruffled her fur and she shifted from side to side softly swaying to keep her babies from being restless, they seemed to like it most when she was moving.

She nodded in agreement. The day was really nice.. and the breeze just seemed to make it all the better. Her fluffy coat rustled about as she closed her eyes, enjoying the added coolness that washed over her. Shaggy fur some times got a bit warm in the daylight hours... Winter.. that was the best time for one as fluffy and shaggy as she was. At least in the winter she was comfortable.
