Name: Reginald Ezekiel Chamberton III
Nickname: Reggie, Zeke
Age: 20
Birthday: May 30
Sign: Gemini
Gemstone: Agate
Blood Type: AB
Fav. Food: Crabcakes
Hated Food: Mac’n’cheese—but only if it doesn’t have bacon in it and crispies on top.
School: Destiny City University, part time
Hobbies: A little money on the side His parents forced him into an internship that takes a lot of his time up with doing nothing in an office. He’s taken to using that time for other pursuits that look officely. To that end, he’s begun to cultivate a quiet little research and paper-writing business for the beleaguered and afflicted students of the local high-schools and colleges. He even does some express and handwritten work, so long as his customer shows up with a handwriting sample and some cash.
Really bad science fiction Godzilla, Mothra, V, The Day The World Stood Still-- you name a piece of classic B-Science fiction and he's there, or been there, and happy to discuss the finer points once he warms up to you a little bit.
What's hot, what's not? When he has free time during work hours and he’s tired of watching old science fiction, Zeke will go through the internet, looking at fashion trends and working out what’s likely to be hot next. He knows designer names like the back of his hand, and is pretty well educated on the major fashion trends. Not enough to be a designer or anything, but enough to converse on the subject.
Virtues: Nod and smile. Endurance, though not of the physical kind, but of the mental. Zeke is used to people being obnoxious and ranting on and on – Lawyers have a reputation for longwindedness, after all. He’s used to remaining agreeable and non-committal while people of all sorts and ages yell at or around him, and while this skill took him quite a while to learn, he uses it often enough now that he’s grateful he did.
Checkmate. Zeke’s grown up playing chess, and to play chess well, you have to be able to think several moves ahead. Of course, it doesn’t hurt to use this approach in real life, and so Zeke has adopted it for his dealings with all kinds of people. He won’t move into a situation without judging the moves that his opponents (and allies) may make in return. This gives him a reputation for mature and well-thought-out decisions with adults, but can sometimes lead to peers deciding that he’s a thinker rather than a man of action.
Egoism is the very essence of a noble soul. He ascribes to a kind of ethical egoism. The central principle in Zeke’s life is himself and his own interests, of course. Just because he’s building his own sandcastle doesn’t mean he’ll go out of his way to knock yours over, though he may not go out of his way to help you build it, either (especially if it’s going to block his view).
Blood is thicker than water. Make no mistake, Zeke dislikes his parents and their hypocritical attitudes toward people, but they’re family. Despite his dislike of their position, he’ll defend them to outsiders no matter what. The same is true of anyone his considers a close friend, though those are few and far between.
Flaws: Do you prefer "fashion victim" or "ensembly challenged"? The three Cs are Cadillac, Chanel, and Coach. If it doesn’t have a label, it’s not in his closet, on his body, or near his person. While what he owns may not be bling, it’s definitely label or else he doesn’t want it. This is another point of snobbery for him; he knows what you’re wearing, and if it’s not label, you’ve just lost a few more points in the social hierarchy. This doesn’t just apply to clothes, however, but also to things from laptops to watches to earrings to bedcovers and paintings.
Mr. Opportunity, exit stage left. Unfortunately, because he likes to be able to see the moves ahead, when he can’t, he’s likely to freeze and not make a decision at all instead of trying to make what might be the wrong one. This applies to just about any kind of decision, from choosing what kind of coffee or ordering at a restaurant, to who to greet first at a party held by his parents.
The avenging angles are coming! Math. He hates it. If working with numbers goes beyond basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, like near fractions and or decimals or angles, his brain shuts down. If Zeke hadn’t spent time and sweating labor over his charts and tables for his paper writing business, he wouldn’t have any idea of what was what and would probably be cheated.
The power behind the throne should stay behind the throne. Zeke does not like to be the center of attention, for a lot of reasons. His parents are trying to use him as a chess piece, and he knows that that sort of thing never ends well for the piece. Between the stress of keeping up his compliant stance with his parents and regular life, Zeke hates it when he ends up in the spotlight. It’s so bad by now that after he’s forced into the spotlight, he’ll have a panic attack. His panic attacks are disabling, and get worse when he's the center of a lot of attention.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: narrowish, reddish brown—any of the colors seen on the
palette are good! Eyebrows are thinnish, arched—think sardonic, sarcastic.
Hair: Hex code b0c4de shading to f0f8ff, preferably from the roots toward tips but definitely flexible, in a style similar to that seen
here.
Face: Heart-shaped face, no freckles, middling-fair skin. Ears are normal, normally placed.
Clothes: Think proto-yuppie executive; slacks, jackets, the slightly-more-casual turtleneck underneath rather than a button down, in charcoals and dove grays. The middle image seen
here is a good example of the right direction.
