~=~ The Council of the Gods ~=~ High in the sky above the Empire State Building was Olympus, cut off from the eyes of mortals by the Mist and from Demigods by the winds and the will of Zeus himself. Inside the main council chamber sat the Gods, a few were fearful, others peaceful, and some were bored and lonely. These brooding Gods and Goddesses sat on their thrones with the added thrones for the 'Lesser' gods.

 EROS; LORD OF LOVEEros stood alone in the council room, looking over a map of the Underworld. He was observing Bryony and her team and he had a large smile on his face. "Yes. By the gods! She is brilliant!" he said. "At this rate, the gods will accept her! They must!"

Silently observing her 'son', Aphrodite frowned and out loud, she 'tsk'ed.
"You really do think that she stands any chance. You poor poor boy."
The goddess of Love moved closer and looked at the Underworld with a sigh. That girl was more trouble than she was worth, much like her father.

EROS; LORD OF LOVEHe sighed. "You and every other god on this mountain will see things my way, mother" he responded. He still hasn't told her about his engagement with Bryony, but he was thinking now would be a right time.

Hestia peered at the map. The demigods were making considerable progress. They had already spoken to Persephone and were proceeding to perform the first task. "I believe she will be accepted," Hestia said. She always stood for the young ones and now she thought that the heroes were needed more than ever. She never did have anything against Bryony becoming immortal. She even knew about the sneaking away Eros was doing, just to see the daughter of Dionysus.
"Don't be so discouraging, Aphrodite," she said, looking at the Goddess. ~ Goddess of the Home and Hearth ~

She put a caring hand on her son's shoulder.
"Remember how much you 'loved' Psyche? How much you pleaded me to accept her, to help make her immortal, to let Zeus marry you two? Now look at you...chasing after a demigod girl."
Aphrodite had nothing against love, it's what she did. But not when it came to her son getting attached to an obnoxious and arrogant girl...it became her main focus to 'save him from himself.

EROS; LORD OF LOVEHe shrugged off her hand. "Bryony is different. I know that she is more trustworthy of the gods than Physce, and you will soon learn that" he rebuked angrily. He turned to Hestia. "Thank you for the support. If only everyone else could think like that"

Aphrodite sighed, and moved away from Eros.
"I'm just trying to help my poor boy out. Yet he shrugs off my motherly affection. Well, at least this girl is attractive. Perhaps it's time she and I have a talk?"
She watched the small group in the Underworld absently.

Aphrodite simply stared at the image of Bryony with a smile on her face.
"We'll see. I'm not going to make this easy for her."
She definitely had plans for a meeting between that girl and herself, even against Zeus' orders about leaving Olympus and having contact with the demigods. She'd have that meeting.

EROS; LORD OF LOVE"Gah! There's no explaining to you! It's always "Aphrodite's right!", why can't you just accept me! Why can't you accept Bryony!" he asked and crossed his arms. "She's going to be your daughter-in-law anyway" he said in a firm tone.

Her look shifted as he dropped a bomb.
"You know I always love you and I'll always look out for my Eros. If you're determined to marry that...Bryony. Then she'll have to earn it by passing my tests. Unless you want me to simply poke a lead arrow into her?"
A leaden arrow appeared in her hand ready to drop it into the underworld image of Bryony. Yet this arrow was different, it was heavier and thicker. It would surely eradicate any love the girl had within her.

"Aphrodite," Hestia said in a calming voice. "Do not be beyond reason. Let love take it's own course. Is that not what you always say?" She placed a hand on Aphrodite's arm, reassuringly.
