Merriment, nice people, music, good weather, and most importantly, food! Yeah, Ciúin could get used to this Easter Picnic thing, even if he looked too old to hang out with his mother. "Now, 'un, you don't need to grab every kind of food you see." Moira chuckled as she waited behind the large boy in line for food. He was piling all sorts of goodies on to his plate, not even sure what some of them were. It's not like it mattered, though, he'd yet found a food that he didn't like. Faced with such bounty, a big, crocodile smile was plastered on his face. He was careful not to take too much so others wouldn't have a chance to eat, but when you have a church-wide potluck, where every family brings SOMETHING, there was plenty of food to go around, even with a Gluttony spawn there.

Eventually he ran out of room on his plates, some being carried by his tail, and deemed it a good idea to sit to enjoy his feast. His chubby tail uncurled, dropping the plates that had been piled on top of it on to the table below. Moira sat across from him, her one tiny plate not nearly filled as any one of his. Anyone else that wanted to sit next to the two at this table would have to wait until Ciúin had cleared some of his plates... if they wanted a spot to put theirs.

The picnic itself was on the grounds of the church (Catholic, Moira's faith), but it was opened to the public for a small donation, of money or food. They had this every year after the Easter Morning Mass and it only ever grew in number of participants. The food area encompassed the largest portion of grounds. Included here, however, was a stage for various [religious] bands to play in the middle of the tables. Away from this area, across a small divide was a tiny little carnival filled with games for the kids.

If Ciúin had his way, he'd probably just stay here the whole time, though...

Ciúin waved Seth over, placing empty plates on top of one another so his naga friend could have a place to sit. He inhaled another plateful before grinning an oddly clean smile at him. Moira, picking up on the fact that the two knew each other, smiled warmly at Seth. She scooted an empty chair over for Seth to sit on, if he wanted.

The Gluttony spawn cleared yet another plate in a flash and, dabbing his mouth with a napkin, cleared his throat. "Excuse me, mother, this is Seth. He is a friend of mine." Ciúin could tell that something was eating at his friend, but didn't want to pry in case Seth didn't want to talk about it. He also didn't want to mention anything about Bleez or Ilyrosa, because, to be honest, Ciúin wasn't a fan of either. "I am glad to see you, Seth." He smiled broadly, showing off his sharp, shark-like teeth. Despite the ferociousness of his teeth, his smile gave off a warmth that matched Moira's normal smile.

"So," Moira, being the nosy parent that she was, had to know. She turned her red-haired head to Seth, "How did you meet Ciúin?" Ciúin's smile faltered a little. How was he going to get around mentioning the evil sisters now?

Clearing his throat again, Ciúin interjected, causing Moira to look back at him. "We met when we were younger. We were in the park, by the..." he hesitated, "...by the record store."

"Oh, well, that's nice," Moira replied, sensing there was more to it, but that she shouldn't pry any further. She was almost thankful for Seth's question and Ciúin's unknowing glance her way as he finished off yet another plate. "Yes, they 'ave this particular event every Easter after Mass. They have other events throughout the year, though."

"You should try this," Ciúin added, offering a plate full of a salad with fresh veggies and some dried cranberries to give it a bit of a sweet bite. The salad had been simply but tastefully drizzled with a light, somewhat bitter dressing. All in all, it all seemed to mix well together. "My mom made it."

Moira giggled like a little girl at Seth's compliment. "Ohoho, you're too kind, Seth!" She couldn't tell if she was being serious or not, but he definitely sounded like he was being truthful.

"Yes, it is really good," Ciúin agreed, looking at his mom, "It tastes really great, mother, but you are a great cook." He turned to Seth again. "You should come over sometime and try some of the other food she cooks, it is all great!"

The fiery haired woman chuckled again; such nice kids. Ciúin was such the opposite of Bleez. Her smile shrank, but she was better at hiding her troubled mind than either Ciúin or Seth were; she had many more years of practice. "So, after you finish eating, would you two like to check out the games? My treat!"

Ciúin looked to Seth, his mouth full of... some other food as he cleared another plate. He swallowed, cleared his throat and pardoned himself. "Excuse me. What do you think, Seth? Good idea?"

"Oh, why of course!" Moira answered before Ciúin could. "It's been quite quiet with just Ciúin and I in the house." She chuckled, a slight crack in her voice as she laughed.

Ciúin sensed that this was not going to be a good topic to pursue, so he was thankful for Seth's next question. "I think they have carnival-type games. Ring toss, those shooting games, I think they even have a strength test... thing." Ciúin waved his hand in the air, not sure how else to explain the last game. After a few more moments of eating, he finished all of his plates off and piled the paper plates on top of each other, waiting for the others to finish.
