A curious question

Just something that I've been pondering:

Let's say a same sex couple adopts a child. Let's say they're both women. Would the kid them both "mom" or one be called "ma" or "mom 2" or what?

What would you call your same sex parents if you had two dads or two moms?

I have a friends like this. Except one is the birth mother of one girl, and the other woman is the birth mother of the other girl. They call their birth mom "Mom" and the partner by her first name. c:

Oh~! I read a baby book with something similar to this...(I was shopping for a friend of mine and stumbled across it.)

The book was called "Mommy, Momma, and Me". That's what I'd call my parents if they were both female. There was also one called "Daddy, Dada, and Me" <3

Here's a brain twister for you:

In a lot of states in the US, if someone changes gender (trans) and then said person can marry someone who is the same gender they are. The state cannot stop them legally.

Reason:

Many states do not reconize transgender people, so under the eyes of the state, the trans person is still considered their birth gender.

I was asking a kid I know who has lesbian mothers. He calls them both "mom" and admitted it could get confusing.

I'd probably use Mom, mommy or dad and daddy.

My ex-boyfriend has two moms. One is "mom", the other he called by her first name. A couple I know (two guys) who have a kid are "dad" and "papa".

On a more serious note, I think it's more like grandparents.

The parent just picks what they want to be called.
