Have you ever had a dream come true? Like a precognitive dream? Do you think some dreams are messages from an outside source rather than just your own subconscious working things out?

I'm complete rubbish when it comes to remembering dreams. When I do remember them, though, they tend to be of the completely ludicrous variety, rather than the precognitive sort. sweatdrop
That said, I suspect I must. On occasion, I have the most resounding feelings of déjà vu - to the point of being precognitive themselves. It's never exhibited itself as anything more useful than being able to know what someone's going to say before they say it (it always kicks off with me 'remembering' something I've 'said before'), but maybe someday it'll come in handy. whee
While the notion of an "outside source" isn't one I'd personally adhere to, I certainly believe there are ways to know things without learning them. In fact, dreams are one of the best places to do so. Dreams are raw creative energy; they are thought, with only the gentlest hints of logic and structure. We're designed to believe that, because of that, dreams are simply imaginary; and it's true that without the support of logical thought, there's a very small likelihood of any dream being 'true'. But, by the same chaotic nature that tends them toward fantasy, there is always the chance that even a dream is perfectly accurate. 3nodding
I suppose the key to all of this is being clever enough to recognise when your dreams could be correct, and when they're simply the product of uninhibited creative genesis. Well, that and remembering them... sweatdrop

I once dreamed there were giant toy-looking (but dangerous) spiders crawling all over this hallway wall that leads to my parents' house main exit, preventing me from exiting. The next day, I was trying to get out the back kitchen door, but I couldn't because I saw a roach in the threshold. Seemed precognitive to me.

I had the same dream for five years each year...I dreamed of myself struggling to get up, but someone helped me, and I was able to soar.
In my own thoughts, I think that dreams are a way of conveying something into your head, its just a matter of whether you remember it or not.

I think that possibly in our sleep we are able to use the parts of our brains that are usually blocked off, or not used. That little touch of esp that a lot of people have is probably one of those parts. Maybe our subconscious blocks it off for a reason, maybe it's something we can't handle well. And maybe when we're asleep our guard is down and it sneaks in and throws a few things our way occasionally. I dunno really, and don't think anyone does, but it's an interesting area of speculation. Dreams that we remember clearly and that stay with us are generally believed to be more likely to be "true" dreams. This is not to say they will be exact and literal, but there may be facts in the mix. It's always important to give some thought to such dreams. I have never believed what they say about deja vu simply being a brain glitch. I've actually had deja vu experiences that I was pretty sure were first experienced in a dream. I only know what Tessa is going to say sometimes, and I must put that to just knowing her so well. However, as a teen, I always knew when the phone rang and it was for me. And I didn't get all that many calls, so it was odd. The ring just sounded different when it was for me... Also sometimes a song will suddenly pop in my head, and a few minutes later I'll hear it, on the radio, or from a passing car. And I'm extremely good at calling coin tosses! All pretty useless psi abilities. rolleyes

Once, many many years ago, I dreamed that a friend - not a close friend, just someone I knew casually - told me she was pregnant. A few days later I heard thru a third party that she was indeed pregnant.
I've had recurrent dreams about a house. I think it's in Los Angeles. One time a couple years ago we drove past a house that looked just like the one in my dream. Haven't had the dream since, lol.

RafiCat I'm extremely good at calling coin tosses! For what it's worth, I'm virtually unbeatable at Rock-Paper-Scissors. sweatdrop Then again, that one's more about reading people (which I'm good at) than it is about precognition (which I'm not). whee
Also: That house. You should've knocked... 3nodding

Seriously, I can't remember ever being wrong on a coin toss. Sometimes I call nothing, because nothing comes to me, and then it turns out the person drops the coin. And...knock? I did consider it, but I was with other people who made it clear they thought I was deranged. That wouldn't stop me, I'm used to that, lol, but I wasn't driving. Maybe, if I ever happen to see the house again. I don't recall where it was. xd

Well, my fear of roaches. I give them more power than they actually have. I always feel like they're going to leap onto me if I get too close.

I have awfully weird dreams quite often. Whatever thoughts I dwell on during the days can lead to dreams.. Like, even simple things, like me IMing someone and not getting anything back, things I post and didn't get replies, status messages, etc, I dream about those getting replies. Also, common things in my dreams include tornadoes, people I miss, and animals, ussually dogs. I also get provocative dreams very often, which is weird since the worst that I am sexually is my mind is in the gutter when people say something(Yeah, immature, I know).
I've had a dream come true.. it was extremely weird. It was in the 5th grade, and the teachers told us we were going to tye dye shirts. I've never done it nor seen how it was done. A week or so before we did it, I had a dream that we were in the core room of the building, and my friend Hassanah asked me how we did it, and I showed her. Well, when we did it, the EXACT thing happened.. Also, last June I had a dream with my current boyfriend MAx in it, and it was a series of.. happenings. The last part was Max's brother stole his bike, so he tackled his brother, and I don't remember it exactly, but we both fell, and on the ground Max just hugged me for a while. I've liked Max for months and months before that, and I told him the dream.. and we're dating. c:
Oh, the Max dream ended with a tornado.. I have no idea why I dream of them so often. I'm terrified of them.

OMG! I could not wake up for dreaming of being turned into a vampire. I kept hoping I was dreaming that I was oversleeping, but instead I was dreaming of being swept away into this seemingly imaginary world we could never return from. One friend was turned, and instead of killing me she decided to turn me to, then we left that world where we had to defeat these zombie-like citizens of a strange world, then we escaped to another world but one person wanted to stay so I watched her in third-person (like, I'd left, but my view stayed with her) as she fought them, meanwhile quelling the urge to suck blood and stuff. I really wanted to finish this dream. I no longer like the idea of being a vampire. FORCED to drink blood to survive and not kill people... although I would probably have to because they would hate me for sucking their blood.
