"I was good, right Papa?"

"Yes, Copy-copy, you were very good," Aludra replied to his wriggling son's question, giving him a gentle kiss on the tip of his nose before gently setting him down. Immediately, the boy latched onto his pantleg, ever the clingy little sweetheart.

"That means we're gon'na go t' Build-a-Bear, right?!" the little patchy-skinned boy said excitedly, bouncing on his toes. Aludra chuckled softly, slipping a cigarette out of the pack in his pocket and lighting it. Babies in the house and all, he was trying his darndest to quit, but they were good for stress and, besides, at least he only smoked when he was outside, right? After a deep inhale, he sighed softly and smiled at his son.

"Yeah, Copy, that means we're going to Build-a-Bear now," he replied, ruffling his son's brown hair. The little one giggled happily as the two of them lingered on the sidewalk just outside the church. Those gold eyes stared up at Aludra for a moment before he pouted softly, one hand reaching upward.

"Can I has one, Papa...? P'eeease?"

"...no."

Cody sighed happily at the soft breeze that occasionally flowed around him, ruffling his hair and wings. Definitely a great day for a walk, that was for sure. Wasn't too hot or cold and as his feet carried him farther and farther, the amount of people became less and less. Yet, the spawn always knew exactly where he was from his earlier escapades and didn't worry as much about getting lost as he did getting back home late from venturing too far out. Edes would tan his hide if that happened, and he definitely didn't want the boy mad.

It wasn't until the church came into view that he realized where he was and who exactly he seemed to be heading for. Quiet as a shadow, Cody moved in close only to pause a few steps from the fairly familiar spawn. "We meet again I see. What is it about this place that draws us here anyways?" he asked with a soft chuckle, only just noticing the small child near Aludra's side. Huh... The kid had too many features from too many donors to be from the facility originally so either the greed spawn had gotten busy or he was babysitting for another.

As usual, Cody's appearance was something that Aludra didn't notice until the other was right next to him. Jumping just a bit when a seemingly disembodied voice spoke to him. After all, though more people at the church had gotten used to him and his appearance, it wasn't as though they spoke with him on a regular basis ( though little Copeka had become quite the conversation-starter ). Speaking of whom, the toddler gasped at the appearance of the much taller pink-haired man, ducking behind his father's single in-tact anklewing, tiny wings fluttering anxiously.

Aludra, however, was much more easily sociable to the other, taking a drag off his cigarette and letting it out with a soft chuckle as he gestured toward the church. "Well I can't speak for you, but I'm here every Sunday morning. Less being drawn here, more showing up out of habit," he said with a gentle shrug, mind immediately reminding him of Copeka and introducing him. Squatting down, he gently moved his son forward, not wanting to hold him while he was smoking. Immediately, the little purple child latched onto his pantleg, burying his face out of sight from the other, causing his father to chuckle once again.

"Though he's being shy at the moment, this little sweetheart is my son, Copeka. 'Peka, this is Papa's friend Cody," he introduced the both of them, petting Copy's brown hair. It was obvious by the smile on his face that Aludra had finally found something to be proud of, and rightfully so. Slowly, Copeka peeked out with one red-rimmed eye, raising a hand to wiggle his fingers gently. "'Lo, Cody..."

Cody chuckled softly as Aludra’s kid ducked behind his leg, hiding shyly there. At least, that was what he assumed by the toddler’s reaction at his appearance and he never pictured Aludra being the type to babysit willingly. Or at least look that proud at someone else's child. “I see. Then it’s I who happens to be the odd one here,” he replied. Well, then it wasn’t random that they had ran into each other once again in front of the church, but more odd that he had wandered this way in the first place. As Copeka was nudged forward and introduced, he offered a small wave in return.

“Hey there Copeka,” Cody replied, waving back as well. The traits he had gained from his father were pretty easy to spot, but figuring out the mother was a different problem all on its own. He could narrow it down to genetics, but with the Facility pushing out kids every day, all of which growing at completely different paces, it didn’t help much. Then again, Lira did have a baby shower recently and they were always close... It didn’t take a genius to figure that one out. “So he’s your son? Wow... I’m guessing life’s gone well for you, then? It’s been a while,” he commented, forcing back the memories that attempted to rise to the surface. No need to start reflecting on the past now.
