Part Time Guardian
Chapter 1

“Toya !! Come Back!!” as this girl was running after me. I said.
“NO!! I’m not excepting your invitation!!” as I jump over the wall that was in between me and this girl. I landed gracefully on the ground on the other side. Then a rush of kids came towards me and knocked me over. And I said. “Whoooaaa.” then they started to hug me and welcome me home. Finally they all finished their welcomes and hugs. Then my aunt came out. She said.
“Toya can you welcome our new arrival.” I replied.
“Yes aunt Susie .” I got up and went to the front door and opened it. And a girl about my age came in. she said.
“I’m Mizuki Morashido. Nice to meet you.” I said.
“My name is Toya Dakimeto. Welcome to the shelter.” She said.
“ Are you one of the children with no home? Like me?” I swallowed hard.
“No. My aunt owns the shelter and I live here with her.” I felt as if I knew what the next question would be. Why do you live with your aunt and not your mom and dad. That question always hurts me the most. I feel like I can just jump off a cliff. I would just wish no one would ask me that question. Then I heard my aunt walk up. And she said.
“Hi! Your our new arrival. So what’s your name?” she said.
“ Mizuki. Or suki for short.” the aunt said.
“Toya can you take her luggage to the girls dorm and then get the mail.” I nodded and picked up her things and ran up the flight of stairs and down again. Then I went to the front door and opened it. I braced my self as a mountain of mail came toppling over me. I got up and stared to pick up the fan mail. Then aunt came up and said.
“Toya. I know you don’t like being mauled by girls and sent gooey love notes. But could you actually enjoy being popular for one second.” I said.
“It’s just not like me to take offers like that and keep to them.” Then I got up from my squatting position. And she said
“Oh Toya. Then can you do me this favor. There is a kid that has no friend and won’t talk. And I’m putting you in charge of him. So from here on out you are his partial Guardian.” she smiled and I looked as pale as white paint. This was something I would want to do but I wasn’t up to it. Especially this. Like being his parent. I don’t need this until I’m 23. And I’m only 16. My aunt and must be crazy.
