(( This is a direct continuation of Together ))"Mmm," Damian was on his back in bed, with his girlfriend lying next to him. Rolling over and onto his side he snagged Devi around the waist, pulling her close to him. "That was awesome." He grinned, sitting up a bit so he could look down at her. Shifting his weight to an elbow he reached over, trailing his fingers through her hair. "Really awesome" Laughing he shifted until he was hovering over her, smiling widely. "Think you might have another round in you?" Leaning down he began kissing his way down her body. He was halfway down when he suddenly stopped, catching sight of something that was not quite right.
Sitting up, he lightly ran his fingers over the crescent moon brand, it was horrible. The skin was raised, and red and felt wrong. "What...the <********> He was obviously confused as he looked up at Devi, fingers still on the brand. "What the hell is this, Devi?" He didn't know much about the BMC beyond the rumours he had heard about them torturing Negas. He had no idea that they branded their followers, like some insane cult. He didn't even know his girlfriend was a part of it.

Devi felt empty. She thought this moment would feel different, much happier. She wasn't unhappy, she was very happy. She was in love with Damian, and she was able to show him how much she loved him. But she felt vulnerable and uncertain. She had tried to forget her doubts, but the thought kept racing through her mind: why hadn't Damian said he loved her back?
Nonetheless, she couldn't help but smile as Damian kissed her body. A second round? She wasn't sure about that but --- her bliss was stopped. Her eyes widened as he moved his fingers over the scar of her branding mark. The mark that identified her as a member of the Blood Moon Court. s**t - had she not told Damian? They rarely talked about their Senshi duties with each other and there has always been a lot of secrecy about the going ons of the Court. But did she forget to tell him that she was even involved? No, she couldn't have. Could she?
"It's a mark," she said, swallowing hard. This wasn't going to go over so well. She felt her stomach turn into knots. "I'm part of the Blood Moon Court. I could have sworn this came up in conversation before." She realized he was worried. She wasn't sure what he had heard about the group, but probably nothing good. They didn't exactly have the best reputation these days. "It's not a big deal, it doesn't change anything. I don't know what you're thinking, but its not an insane evil group like people say. They're my family."

"Your...family?" Damian thought about the rumours he heard, that the BMC were crazy psycho torturers. And while he didn't like the Negaverse, he didn't think anyone deserved to be tortured. And even if those rumours were exaggerated, everything he had ever heard about the Blood Moon Court had mentioned their extremism. "So, your family is a crazy cabal that, from what I've heard, enjoys torturing people? And branding people, obviously." He pulled his fingers away from the brand, climbing off of her. The brand was the real kicker. His girlfriend, his girlfriend was branded by someone else. While he couldn't manage to say he loved her, he didn't want someone else branding her and claiming possession.
"It must have just slipped your mind, between all the torture and branding." He shook his head, fingers raking through his hair. "How could you let someone brand you, Devi? And not tell me about it?!"

Devi bit her bottom lip. The torture thing. Apparently he had heard about that. "Yeah. There was some torture. Do you know why? Cause it was pretty damn personal," Devi stared at her boyfriend. Could he not put two and two together? "We kidnapped General Tanzanite and some other Negaverse captains. Do you remember what Tanzanite did to me? What she did to my parents? The Blood Moon Court responded. And then Tanzanite killed one of our own - Sailor Rota. What I did back was no worse, hell, it was much better than what she had done to me. I didn't kill anyone." She almost did. She wanted to. But she didn't admit that.
"Look, I'm not saying that everything that went down at that torture camp was right," she started. "But don't guilt me for what the ******** I did and what decisions I made. I was branded and I am proud to be a goddamn member. Under their wing I've become a better person. I'm sorry that I didn't tell you about it. I should have. I love you. I love you just as much as the Court, maybe even more." Ares would probably not be pleased if she were to ever hear that.
"Don't make it sound like I don't trust or love you, I think tonight has proved otherwise. The question is: do you love me?"

Damian did remember what Tanzanite did to his girlfriend. It was horrible, certainly, but to stoop down to that level for pay back? To be capable of such a thing at all? Damian wasn't sure he'd be able to torture someone. He knew he could defend himself, and if someone he cared about was in danger he could protect them. But to torture someone, with the only goal to deal out pain? He didn't think he could do that. It made him a little sick to think about it. He had seen movies where people got tortured, it never looked pretty. Was Devi a part of that? He didn't want to think about Devi torturing someone, cutting off their fingers or whatever the hell they did.
Shaking his head he got off the bed, standing naked in the middle of the room. "A better person?! Devi, you tortured people, yeah they're the Negaverse, and they did some really ******** up s**t. But doing what you did just proves you're like them." She loved him. He wasn't sure how to feel about that. He just couldn't get over the torturing part, it kept running through his head and he couldn't shake it.
He had begun pacing, but he stopped at her question. Turning he stared at her. "I don't know if I can love someone who thinks torturing people is a ok. What if we get into a fight? Are you going to tie me down and brand me? Jesus Christ, Dev. We're senshi, we save people! We're the goddamn good guys."
And then something clicked in his head. The giant fight that Carter had nearly gotten killed in, that was all because of the Blood Moon Court kidnapping Negas. All because Devi's family thought it would be a good idea to get revenge. The fight would have never of happened if the Negas were never kidnapped. His fingers curled into a fist and he stared at her. "Your psycho cabal nearly got Carter killed, did you know that? Did you even think about how your actions would affect everyone else? Or were you just so damn hellbent on beating on some Negas that you didn't stop to consider?"

It stung. He didn't know if he could love her? Did her ever love her before? Would he ever be able to love her? After all they have been through, he can't say he loves her back? "I know we're the ******** good guys, don't give me that s**t," she spat back, rising out of bed. She picked up her bra off the ground and put it back on, covering the rest of herself with the sheet. To think that the night had gone from something special to something so awful so quickly.
"Goddamn it Damian, I saw what happened to Carter. I saw you and him in the hospital as you checked him in. You know I had the same injury that night? But you know what the difference is between what happened to me and what happened to Carter?" She paused. "I didn't have you."
"It was a ******** battle, we lost a lot of people that night," she continued on after another pause. "I don't feel good about everything that went down in those weeks, and I feel even worse about what happened that night. So stop painting me and the Court out to be some group of bloodthirsty whack jobs."

Damian watched as she got out of bed, but looked away remembering the brand. He didn't want to see that again. "Oh you do? because kidnapping and s**t isn't real good guy behaviour, just fyi." He didn't even think to cover up, it's not like it mattered really. She had already seen him naked, continuing to be naked wouldn't change anything. Not to mention he was too angry to think about things like clothes.
Her words about her not having him stung a bit, but he just shook his head. "You didn't nearly bleed to death in my Jeep, Devi, do you wanna see the bloodstains? There still there. He's my best friend, I couldn't just let him die so I could stand with you while you got some stitches." He crossed his arms over his chest, maybe he was exaggerating a little, but Carter did bleed all over his car.
The redhead couldn't help but laugh at her words. "Devi, they are bloodthirsty whack jobs that torture people." He paused a moment, looking away, before he brought his gaze back to her, silver eyes serious. "It's me or them Dev, I don't wanna be with someone who's alright with the kind of things that they do."

Devi's jaw dropped. What? Her body trembled. Was he really giving her an ultimatum? "Don't do this to me Damian. I love you, but I hate that you are putting me in this situation. You can't do this to me, that's not fair. That's not right." She started crying. Her throat felt dry and she felt ready to throw up at any second. She was livid. She was devastated. She didn't know how to respond. Her mind was racing, feeling shaken with fear. "How would you feel if I did the same to you? Huh? What if I made you decide: me or Carter? Me or the Pleiades?"

Oh, ********. She was crying. He hated when girls cried, it always made him feel like a giant a** hole. He didn't let it break him though, his stance on the things the Blood Moon Court did was strong. Her words made him look away. It wasn't fair, not really, forcing her to chose, but life wasn't always fair.
He looked back at her when another ultimatum was brought up. Her or Carter? or the Pleiades? He was quiet for a long moment, staring at his girlfriend wrapped in a sheet, tears streaming down her face. His eyes were a little sad when he responded. He knew he was about to break her heart. "If you made me decide, I'd chose Carter, I'd chose the Pleiades." The Pleiades were his family, or at least more of a family than his own was, except for maybe his dad.

Heartbreak. It was something Devi had heard about, seen in the movies, but never actually experienced until this very moment. It was painful, emotionally wrenching. She wanted to fall to the floor, curl up in a ball and cry herself to death itself. She felt more vulnerable than ever. Her heart was ripped straight out of her chest, thrown to the ground and stomped on. She knew that it was over.
"I said how would it make you feel," she gasped for air, choking on her tears as she cried. She looked up at the ceiling, unable to bare looking at him. She was breathing heavily, and did her best to slow herself down. She needed to relax. "Not to pick."
She looked at him for a moment and turned away. She was through with it. She picked up her underwear and hurriedly got dressed. "But thank you. That really cleared it up for me. To be honest, I don't know what I would have picked. But you seem pretty damned sure. The difference here must be that I love - no, I loved you. I can't love you. You broke my heart. You a*****e."
She pulled up her jeans and tossed on her unbuttoned blouse as she stormed out of the bedroom, tears flowing down her face. She then turned back at him from the living room, shouting. "You ******** son of a b***h mother ******** c**k sucking c**t!" She was livid and didn't know how to react. "You ******** me. You ******** ******** me over. I let you do...that, and this is what you ******** turn around do?"
Devi eyed the remaining beers from the six-pack she had brought over and left on his counter. She grabbed a full bottle of beer and chucked it at the wall beside his door as she shouted, "******** you!" She grabbed another two ********." She tossed another bottle against the other half of the wall.
"You." And another bottle, this one aimed for Damian himself.

Damian didn't say anything at first, he just watched as she broke down. He hated break ups, and it was obvious that this was quickly becoming one. A part of him wanted to comfort her, but there wasn't anything he could say. He'd made it clear where his loyalties lied.
He was still quiet while she dressed, letting her yell at him. It's not like he could say sorry, it wouldn't help a thing. The thought of clothing finally occurred to him and he bent down, picking up his boxers. Stepping into them he pulled them up, sighing quietly as she called him an a*****e. He supposed he was, he did just chose his best friend and teammates over her, five minutes after screwing her.
The redhead followed after her, finally speaking. "Devi..." He wasn't sure what he was going to say, but whatever it might have been would have been drowned out by her shouting. He flinched, standing in the door to his bedroom. And then she was throwing accusations around. "I ******** you, because you literally threw yourself at me. And you know, maybe if you told me I was going to find a ******** brand on your body we could have skipped the ********, and went straight to the breakup!" He was yelling now too.
Damian jumped as the bottle hit the wall. "WHAT THE ********> Devi was going crazy. <******** hell, Devi, put the bottle down!" He jumped again as the next bottle hit the wall. When the third was thrown his eyes widened and he ducked at the last second, the bottle flying over his head to smash into the closet behind him. "Alright, it's time for you to get the ******** out." He could put up with a lot of things, but angry chicks throwing bottles at him was not one them.

"Oh, ohohoho," she jumbled in disbelief. "This is all my ******** fault? You're right Damian. I am so sorry for ******** you. What the ******** was I thinking? I'm sorry that I ******** loved you, you son of a b***h." She tossed another bottle towards his feet. He was kicking her out? No ******** way. She deserved more than that. She grabbed another bottle by the neck and slammed the base of it against the counter, shattering it, leaving a half-broken bottle in her hands like a weapon. She brandished it towards him.
"Don't come near me," she hissed. "I don't want to see you, I don't want to hear from you, I don't want to hear that you are living. Ever again. Do you hear me, you a*****e? From this moment on, I don't give a s**t what happens to you. Hell, I wish you the worst. You are a ******** d**k, Damian. A real grade-A, bottom of the crap barrel, deadbeat shithead. Go ******** yourself." She tossed the remainder of the glass at him before storming out of the apartment, slamming his apartment door shut behind her.
Instantly, she fell to the floor in hysterics, tears flowing endlessly. She felt there was no looking up from this point forward. She lost the man she loved forever, and was left with nothing to show for it but pain. She could hardly breathe through her tears, her heart was pounding like it was going to burst and kill her. Hell, she'd welcome death over the way she felt as she cried, curled up in a ball on the pavement outside his apartment.
How could have this night gone so wrong?

Damian jumped backwards, beer splashing on his bare feet. And then she was getting really crazy. His eyes widened, staring at the broken bottle. What the ******** hell?! Was she going to try and shank him? He always thought Devi was a little eccentric, but not straight up crazy. "Put the bottle down before you hurt yourself!" Or me He had a feeling that mentioning his own safety wouldn't help things right now.
Her tirade had him lifting his hands in a motion of surrender. Fine he wouldn't come closer, he wouldn't contact. It hurt a little, that she wanted so little to do with him. But he had picked his best friend over her, so that probably had something to do with it. "Fine, Devi, I'll leave you along forever or whatever the ******** you want. Just put the ******** bottle down!" When she did just what he said to he jumped back again. What the hell was with here and throwing s**t at him?
When the door slammed he sighed, looking at the mess that was left behind. It was going to be a long night.
