It was well known the feelings Ishtar held for Marrie, almost all of their time had been spent together over the past months, searching for something as unique as her, and he felt… no he knew they were close. He had a feeling about this star, a feeling it was as lovely as his beautiful Marrie, a feeling that was unprecedented by time space or raw emotion. “My love, we are almost there.” Ishtar whispered into the hair of his lovely friend, and companion. “I don’t want to start without you.” His ruby eyes scanned the horizon squinting in the sunrise, a beautiful day indeed. He nervously fingered the thing that was making his spirits sore, the thing resting in his pocket. A small box, inside a ring without the center stone, the stone was what he had come here for. Today was the day Ishtar decided he wanted to be more than childhood friends, more than boyfriend and girlfriend he wanted to be a man and he wanted Marrie to be his wife.

It was to be a most fortuitous day, Marrie had seen magic in the stars the night before. The sound of Ishtar's voice warmed her ear. "I don't want you to leave me either, Love." She walked up behind him as he was looking at the sunrise and wrapped her arms about his waist and then nuzzled her way between his him and his chest till his arm was around her. "It really is a beautiful morning, I think it will be a perfect day. Shall we start?" She took a couple steps forward and turned to talk Ishtar's hand. The wind blew a sudden gust that lifted her hair and made it float about her face, her ribbons and skirt fluttering and then falling. "It's time to find our star."

You are my star, the star that kept me from falling into complete darkness. The words came unbidden into his mind, as they always did when he was around this girl… no, woman. Before his very eyes Marrie had become a woman, and he loved her now as much as he ever did as a child, though now it was for less… pure reasons. He couldn’t figure out exactly how she had managed to hold onto her innocence, the sparkle of childlike glee in her eyes, but he would protect it with his life. A soft smile tugged at the corner of his mouth, much like his fathers and nodded his head. “You lead the way.” He took her hand with his right and slid his left around her waist to make sure she didn’t trip over the incline. They were heading into a denser forest then even the one where Ishtar had grown up, and for some reason he thought that this might just be where Valiant met Joshua. He saw a soft sparkle in the dense trees in the starlight, and somehow he knew the star was calling them. “I never want to leave your side Marrie. Not for a moment.”

Merrie smiled as his hand gently rested on her waist. He had always been her protector and made her feel safe. She turned toward him and gave him a quick kiss on his soft smile. "I love you." Then just as quickly she turned forward and skipped ahead into the into the forest, playfully bidding him to keep up.
Every day she had spent with Ishtar on this journey was better then the last. Full of adventure and as for romance, well she had been opening up to it more. She slept at his side. She liked waking to his face, although he almost always seemed to wake before her. She was happy and hoped he was also, even if he could have made this trip faster with out her, she tried not to be a nuisance and tried to keep that elusive smile on his face as much as possible.

Ishtar watched her run ahead, his smile becoming larger. She was heading in the right direction, this much was good. However they had close to an hours’ worth of journeying to do. He watched her skip jump and barge through the trees, hardly making a sound himself but easily keeping up, all with mirth in his eyes the entire time. And like that the hour went by quickly; they were almost upon the clearing with the center collapsed inward. “Marrie, I can wait no longer.” He reached forward and took her hand, his clammy and somewhat shaking. Even though Ishtar was part of the Anbu, even though he held the lives of his people in his hands every single day, this was the most terrifying moment of his life. The little voice in his head screamed at him that this was foolish, there was no way that Marrie could say yes… and yet he hoped. She had been saying I love you lately… “Marrie…” he cleared his throat, only daring to glance up to her eyes for a nanosecond before looking away. Instead of talking he knelt on one knee, his eyes resting on the hand in his own. “I would like to ask for your hand, for you to be mine until time ends. I want to ask if you would honor me as my wife. I swear to you, from the moment we first met my heart belonged to only you, and that shall never change as long as I live.I love you Marrie, and I always will” Ishtar looked up to meet her beautiful golden eyes with his red, a soft smile on his lips. “I would be honored to be your husband, and in my mind we are all but married right at this moment, but the decision is ultimately yours. I have the ring; I just need the center piece, a bit of that star over there…” He had forgotten everything he meant to say, all of the well calculated words and gestures, and merely poured his heart out to her. The first time he had ever done that with anyone before.

She wrapped her other hand around his trembling hand trying to calm him and knelled down if front of him. Her wide gold eyes shimmered happily. "Ishtar" she kissed him. "My heart has always been yours as yours has been mine." She moved the long hair that had blown in his face. "I told my family I'd marry you one day I knew it was the truth. Our love was written in the stars. I have just been waiting for you to ask." She held out her hand for him to put the ring on. "I will always love you, My answer wouldn't be anything but yes." Her warm smile never left her face. "Lets go find that star, my husband, and finish this quest."

Ishtar’s face lit with happiness. “My Marrie, my wife.” He kissed the hand softly, grabbing the ring box with his other hand he fumbled for a moment, not daring to let go of his anchor to the world. He finally slid the ring on her finger, smiling when it fit easily. “Now for the center” As they walked Ishtar held her hand tightly and glanced up at her through his hair. “Do you want a small wedding or a big one?”
Ishtar led her through the clearing and to the crater where a star lay in the ground, about the size of a large bolder lay in a steaming heap. "I'ts beautiful." he walked somewhat closer looking at the fragments off to the sides of the rock. "Pick your star." ((Do you want to skip ahead in time after they find the star or just do a small wedding with valiant or something?))

"I don't need a fancy wedding, I'm happy with just you and family" she followed him carefully into the crater. "wow so this is what a star looks like!" She ran up to the bolder and hugged it. "it is amazing!" she walked around it and looked at all the shiny bits, one seemed call to her, shining brighter then the rest. "I think this piece is perfect." ((time skip to Just after wedding - I think it will be easier this way seeing as I gave away her mom in a rehoming))
Marrie sat in a small room, her mother had put her hair up, and she wore a white dress and tiara, She looked more like a real princess then a fairy today.

((okie dokie)) Ishtar stood alone in his room in east ink. His normal scowl was traded for one that reflected on calm contemplation. The rest of his life stood before him right across the clearing and in her own room, probably feeling much the same as he did. Valiant had found a beautiful embroidered black and red tunic for him to wear to the wedding, and his hair had been brushed until it shone, and braided into a thick rope behind him. Everything had happened so quickly that he felt like he was still standing at the end of the aisle next to Youko, a ridiculous smile plastered on his face.
It was time for them to meet again, not as friends, not as companions but as husband and wife. Ishtar left his room, back straight head held high and floating on cloud nine.

Everything smelled different and unfamiliar in East Ikebokuro everything expect for the scent of Ishtar and Val and his sisters. It was Marrie's first time in his territory as well as the first time to meet a lot of his family, it was a bit confusing and everything happened so fast is was just sinking in. She looked in the mirror and smiled, she was Ishtar's bride. Taking a pin out of her hair she let it cascade down her back. Ishtar would be by to get her in a moment to take her to their wedding suite. She blushed.

Ishtar glanced around as he walked to Marrie’s door. He felt thousands of eyes on him from the trees, one would have thought that the cat had started to bark. The feeling nagged at him but he chose to ignore it. Gently he knocked on the door that separated them. “Marrie…” He called softly, wondering for the first time if this would be too much for her. If being taken to a new place, dragged with him for so long might take its tole and make her unhappy. He shifted his weight, only looking from the door when the scent of Fayla and Saeriel flitted through the trees to his left. He got a glimpse of silver and then it was gone. “Marrie?” he called again, cracking the door open just a tad bit more.

"Ishy?" Marrie stood her blush deepened as the door cracked open. "yes, I'm here" she walked to the door. "i'm ready." she was nervous, her hands were shaking. She opened the door, when she saw him she almost cried. She covered her mouth with her fingers, he looked more like a prince today then he ever had. She was so proud to be his bride. To be protected by him. "I love you."

When Ishtar saw Marrie’s face his resolve almost melted as well. She was shaking… that scared him. “Marrie, you know I love you…” He kept studying her, she was happy but still worried…. Worried about… oh. That part of the wedding had never really clicked to Ishtar, he never really thought about it. That would be why all the eyes were on them still, why he could hear some laughter in the trees. “Oh Marrie.” He slid inside and shut the door, eyes down cast at his soft leather boots. “I never really thought about this part to be honest… it doesn’t have to be tonight if you don’t want it to.” He hated how insecure he sounded, and the way he shifted weight from foot to foot. “As a healer I understand that it is nerve racking, and as your husband I care that the first time may hurt you… so this decision is with you. I am fine to sleep next to you with nothing more.”

Marrie wrapped her arms around Ishtar's neck "no, I'm ready tonight." he was always putting her first, taking care of her. "just be gentle with me." She knew he would before she even asked. "momma told me what to do.". She giggled "she was surprised you never tried anything, I think she has an even higher opinion of you the my brother now." Marrie kissed Ishtar, "I admit I'm a bit nervous, but I want to be your bride tonight." She nuzzled into his neck.

Ishtar’s heart skipped a beat as he looked down at his bride. “I have never tried anything with anyone my Marrie, so this will be new for both of us.” He scooped her up into his arms and carried her bridal fashioned into the clearing and to the woods on the other side.
Their bridal suite was a large oak tree, probably older than the town itself standing in the middle of East Ink. Towering over a silver pond. When Valaint and Liraeal were pregnant they stayed here… and he could see why. The dim sunlight made the pond seem as though it were liquid silver, and the leaves of the trees turned gemstone green. It was calming here, calming and beautiful. “This is our stop.” Ishtar kissed her forehead and set her down on a large root that towered right over the water. “This is to be our new home, Youko approved of it. It keeps you away from the dangers of the forest without keeping me too far away. I thought you would like the view.” Night fell then, the stars being reflected on the dark lake, and the moon a thin sliver glowing in the dark waters. "This is my present to you."
