Her boys were old enough now that she could go back to her wandering adventurous ways more on a regular basis. Today's adventure - well she wasn't sure what it would be yet, however Synestra was certainly looking forward to it. She headed west, a direction she had not traveled in some time. What new things would she see today? What new faces would she meet? And more importantly how awesome would this adventure be? Surely after being relatively cooped up the last few months taking care of her sons any adventure would seem like the most fantastic thing in the world. Really though, each day had so much new potential that even small discoveries could be cherished.
After stopped for a drink and something to eat during the early afternoon Synestra continued her journey westward. Fields of lush spring grass met her eyes and she trotted happily through them, the blades of the grass tickling her legs and belly as she went through the deeper untouched patches. Up ahead was a small rock bluff that would provide her with the perfect vantage point to see the lay of the land. Adjusting her course Synestra trotted over to the landmark and then slowly picked her way to the top. It wasn't overly high but she knew one misstep could send her tumbling down and possibly cause serious injuries to her legs.
At the top of the bluff Synestra turned her gaze to the lands before her. From this slightly higher up vantage point she could see so much further than from on the ground. A gentle breeze came through the area and Synestra closed her eyes, taking in a deep breath. Ah yes, this was an excellent place to start her adventure. Opening her eyes once more she looked about, searching for anything that might catch her eye and lead to the best adventure yet.

Zep was going to hear about this later. His best friend, his mate, or his newest friend Ayidan. They were going to have a good laugh at him. He had been flying at a nice slow pace, and enjoying the wind. He hadn't realized that he had climbed the winds so high. And now that his wings were tiring fast the poor guy was in a bit of a sticky situation. His Jubilee had told him to go have fun for a few days, she was off for girl time. So he had taken to wandering around, meeting new friends, and just trying to keep to himself as much as possible. It had worked pretty well thus far, but this? This was a bad thing right here! However, he spotted his (hopeful) saving grace. A bluff! Zephyr aimed for the bluff and made the best landing he could hope for as his wings threatened to dump his body ungracefully on the ground. How he wished for lighter bones! Despite his efforts, Zep's landing was not pretty. He hit hard, stumbled, and fell on his rear end with enough force to cause some bruising. But thankfully, nothing was broken in the least. He didn't see anyone around, and didn't have a chance to be scared because he was concentrating on his behind more than anything else at the moment.

Everything seemed to be perfect in this area, plenty of space to run, lush grass to eat, a river to drink from and probably more things to do than she had time to do. Of course the last thing she expected was to have a giant winged stallion fall out of the sky and crash land onto the bluff she was standing on. Synestra watched with a gaped expression as he came crashing down, clearly trying to make his rough landing a bit less rough, though it appeared to have failed. When he came to a stop she gave her head a firm shake to get over the shock of watching all that and stepped forwards towards him.
"Oh my gosh are you alright? That looked like a bit of a rough landing." Her ears perked forward as she watched the stallion. Well he didn't looked injured per say, at least she didn't see any blood nor was he calling out in pain so that was the first good sign of the day. If he was hurt however, she would would be certain to do whatever she could to help, even though her knowledge of healing was extremely limited. "You should probably take it easy. Don't move too much, just in case your hurt." Well, she might just have to put her adventures on hold for the day if he was in fact injured.
However, if he wasn't, well she could be looking at a new adventure partner. Now she really hoped he wasn't injured just to make everything easier for them both. "What's your name? I'm Synestra, though you can call me Syn."

Zep was beyond frazzled. The big guy just lay there, blinking several times to process what had just happened. It wasn't often that the alicorn landed on the ground like this. However, someone was standing next to him, asking him questions and giving him orders like someone who was in charge. Who was he to argue with her?
"I'm okay. Nothing feels broken, I'm just... very startled. I... My name is Zephyr, but you can call me Zep."
He shook his head, mane tossing a little bit. He felt really silly considering the reason he had fallen in such a way. Slowly and surely, the hybrid moved his limbs a little, feeling for pain in anyway. He was bruised, but nothing was broken in the least. He didn't move though, all too willing to follow the advice of such a sure toned voice.
"I was lost in thought a bit too long, and forgot I needed to land..."
He had the presence of mind to blush, and look almost like a surly child at admiting his foly. He had been too stunned to worry about whom he was talking to and now that he had an eyeball on Syn, he felt like he couldn't be afraid of her. She was way smaller than him, and frankly he found that oddly... adorable? It was more like a big brother to a younger sister, if only by her size and tone of voice. Not that he'd say such a thing, he had just never met anyone her size before.

Thank goodness he didn't appear to be hurt. He would be sore and bruised for a few days more than likely but somehow the stallion avoided major injuries. Taking another step forward Synestra couldn't help but look him over once more to ensure that he wasn't in shock and not realizing that he was injured. But to her relief he was not. "Well Zep, it's good to meet you. Though shame it had to involve you crashing to do so." She let out a soft chuckle, as it would be best to make light of the situation at hand. Taking a step back to give him room once more Synestra smiled a bit at him. "Alright, how about you get up now. Best to shake this off if you can."
Well even though this day might not go to plan anymore she was happy to have met a new face. Her smile was soft and warm, certainly making he felt welcome. He reminded her of Mercy, her adopted sister, as they were both Alicorns. That was all the more reason to make sure he was okay. "Well I guess you should avoid too much thinking while flying. Must have been something really interesting to allow you to distract you in such a way."
Once he was up she would need to get him moving, make sure he wasn't too banged up. Especially so his wings, as a wind that couldn't fly would be a true shame. "Now come on, let's see you walk a bit. Though I think we should get down off this bluff onto more solid and level ground." With a quick glance over to him Synestra gave her head a flick, motioning for him to follow before climbing her way down to the grass. Once back on solid ground Synestra returned her attention to the larger stallion. "So want to tell me what you were thinking that caused you to make such a bold entrance?" She asked with a chuckle.

It was really odd to be bossed around by someone so much smaller than him. However, Zep was finding himself very meek at the moment. Very meek indeed. He stood up when he was told and stretched his wings before looking down at her. Slowly he followed her in removing themselves from the cliff and getting to better ground.
"So want to tell me what you were thinking that caused you to make such a bold entrance?"
Zep blushed once again.
"I was thinking a-about possibly being a father. I'm not one yet, so I was a bit lost in my thoughts about the idea of children and what they would be like, and how I could properly raise them. And whether they'd have wings and a horn like I do, or be like my mate without. And well... a lot of things along those lines?"
The big guy was worried about becoming a father and being a good father. He was typically such a coward, what if he had a son? Or what if he needed to teach a daughter to stand up for herself? And here he was meekly following along once again. It didn't seem like it'd be changing anytime soon.
"I must admit, not the smartest move on my end. Daydreaming and thinking while flying is not recommended."
His wings stretched again, and he began to move his weight to each limb to make sure they weren't too badly damaged. It seemed that all was pretty well with his body. Which was a good thing all things considered. He grinned a little, given the odd situation they were in now because of him. But the female seemed to have no problem taking charge. Why couldn't Zep be like that?
