Kahya was off wandering like she always was. Today, she decided to return to her favorite place by the lake. She enjoyed being there because it was wide and open, and it was by the water, and water always made her feel calm and happy.
She sighed heavily and approached the lake. She looked down at her reflection, and expected to see an old, withered mare and was shocked when she saw a young and alive horse. She felt like she was a hundred years old. She sipped at the clear water. Macchiato was taking a stroll away from Torren. It had been a few months now that her children had gone off their own ways, and she was missing them increasingly each day.
She sighed heavily before realizing she was thirsty. She had been wandering in the plains, and could spot the lake not far from here, so she decided she'd cross the plains and take a sip. When she finally approached the lake, she stopped dead in her tracks. A bright light green mare was having a drink. She had spots and stipes, and a long curly mane and tail.
"Ma?" she called out, her voice shaky.

She'd wandered off on yet another one of her lone quests, she'd grown into a mare now and was off searching the world, looking for all she could find and giving herself some time away from her brother and sister. Not that they really pestered her much these days. Since they'd all grown up they didn't spend as much time with one another. It was almost a sad thought. She didn't even get to see much of her father these days. Still she wanted to know what the world had to offer. She was still as awkward of a female as she'd been as a foal. Her game of Prot the dragon had become more of her way to hide her embarrassment when she did something goofy or strange. She'd gone from a wild and hyper youngin to an awkward tomboyish mare who despite all her attempts to be more ladylike she just couldn't grasp the concept completely.

Before she turned around, she already recognized her daughter's voice. "Ah, crap." she muttered softly under her breath before composing herself and turning around to face Macchi. She looked for the right words to say, but couldn't find them. She awkwardly mumbled, "Hey, kid." The last time they met, she was a heartbroken mess, and Macchiato was a pregnant, silly mare. Maybe things had progressed since then. Before asking how Macchi was, she explained her own situation.
"Tomas and I decided to mate for life." There. She'd said it. Her duty to her daughter was over. But ah, crap. There was more. "Oh, and you have three more siblings. Alright then, I'll see you around." she said before turning around to leave. She knew very well that if they could both avoid it, they'd probably try to stay out of each other's ways.
Before she could speak, she was bombarded with the news that she had siblings. She couldn't care less that ma had settled down with her adolescence fling partner: her father. She just couldn't believe that she had other siblings other than Xion. All these different emotions overcame her, and she didn't know what to do with them. She cast off her shy exterior, and neighed loudly in anger, startling Kahya. She kicked at the floor and bared her teeth, and like lightning, sprung at her mother. She just wanted to trample all over and knock some sense into her- that she'd made a mess of her children's lives, and she didn't deserve a second chance with new foals!

Coming to the plains she looked about. This was about the furthest she'd come out n her own. It was times like this she frowned, half missing her family. She liked having them around, Liked laughing and playing with those she's been surrounded with since birth. Her brother was undoubtedly off wooing that mare he'd told her about. A delicate thing as he'd described her to be she wondered how on earth the poor mare had ever made it to adult hood let alone to catch her brother's eye. Did he just have the need to protect some one? Shaking her head, she stepped out from the trees entering the plains, making her way towards the lake.

Kahya was dumbstruck by her daughter's move. She'd never been... attacked before! Much less by a relative! She frantically struggled to get away. She didn't want to hurt her own flesh and blood!
Macchi was astonished that her mother would try to escape this fight. She wanted her to fight back so that she could really maim her! They'd argued with words before, but clearly, it hadn't made much of a different. Now, it was time to make things physical. She bit Kahya's ear, pushing her teeth down hard until she heard her yelp in pain.

The scuffle ahead reached her ears and she blinked wondering what in the world was happening. She had a moment to think about turning back but she just couldn't make herself do it. What if it were some one who needed help? Some one being attacked by a kalona who just needed the aid of another? She couldn't stand by and do nothing.. It just was against her upbringing. Defend the weak thwart the wicked.. Her pace picked up as she made her way faster, hooves gently thundering as she broke into a gallop she'd grown as big as her mother, big like her father which was humorous since now her father was just shorter than the rest of his family.
