Siad laughed warmly at the cubs as they filed past him, ruffling a few mane tuffs with his large paw, " Now don't forget cubs, you have a homework assignment. Ask your parents if they know the names of Isis' Seven Scorpions.. first one to bring me back all seven names, their correct names gets a prize, and no I am not telling you what it is."
His green eyes sparkled with good humor as he watched them tumble over each other in typical cub like fashion. Siad truly enjoyed being a teacher and scribe. He was content, though his sister continuously pestered him about not settling down. Her reasoning, he needed to so she didn't have to.
Chuckling softly under his breath he turned back to the area he used to teach his classes. Lucky for him he had the older cubs, so there were no real messes, but still any group of younglings always require some sort of straightening up.

Aze was off wandering through the huge temple that she was slowly learning to call home. She placed one paw carefully in front of the other, looking up at large beams and statues and other golden, sand colored structures. This place was unlike any other she'd ever seen before, and boy, she'd seen a lot!
Despite her constant thirst, she was really enjoying herself here. She considered staying permanently, but she wasn't ready to make a choice of such magnitude as of yet. Her uncle, Desher, had never given her a choice. Ever since the death of all her close relatives, Desher was all she had, and she had no choice but to follow him. But she was a grown lioness now, and she could choose to stay wherever she wanted. Still, she didn't want to lose contact with her uncle. The last time they'd seen each other was when they'd first stumbled upon this pride. She wondered where he could possibly be...
Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of cubs. She perked her dark ears up at the approaching noise, and turned her head to where the cubs were coming from. Her eyes widened at the stampede of little ones approaching her. She crouched instinctively to brace for the impact. When the cubs ran past her, she couldn't help but let out a small yelp. There were so many of them! She loved cubs, but she'd never seen such a large group of them! There must've been some sort of... gathering for cubs? The fact that this pride had a school didn't quite occur to her in her shocked state. Her thoughts went on and on as she dreamed off, walking without any real purpose. As a guardian, she didn't really have much to do.
She let her eyes close just slightly as she let the sun heat up her fur. A smile widened on her face. And before she knew it, she ran into something - someone - bigger than her. A lion?!

Siad had just about finished cleaning up his area, and was debating if he desired lunch before he went to check on the star clock he was setting up on the eastern side of the temple. He could get in a few hours work this afternoon he was sure, but did he want to do it on an empty stomach or not.
Pondering this great mystery, he turned to move away from the edge of the water, the sacred island in the middle of the temple to his back. Visualizing the placements of the stones for the clock, he didn't see the lioness until the impact forced him back onto his haunches, his hind end falling into the water.
Blinking his green eyes, he looked down to see what or who had knocked him into the pool and landed his tail on a lily pad. Knowing he was a rather large male, he asked politely, " You're not hurt are you?", as he struggled to stand up, slipping slightly on the moss covered stone as water ran off his back legs and tail.
