On any given day you cold find Zephyr in the air. He typically had a bit of time set aside every day to go out and spread his wings. It made him a little sad that his mate Julibee couldn't fly as well, but that's what he got for falling for someone without wings. Not that he was complaining, because after all he had fallen for the female hard.

Zephyr had been flying for a bit, and found himself rather thirty over the plains. He spotted a river due to a glint and began to make his way down. The moment he touched the ground, his wings folded neatly and the hybrid Soq wandered over to the glinting stream. He bent his neck and took a deep drink of the ice cold waters. He had no idea that he was in fact, not alone.

Oh dear. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. Zep's head snapped up the moment he realized that he was not alone. Fight or flight, fight or flight?!?!!

"He...hello... Wh...wh...what brin...brings you o...o...out this way?"

The other soq didn't have wings, and was relaxing in the water. He seemingly posed no threat what so ever. Nor did he move in a way that was threatening. Also, his manner of speech helped Zeph stay where he was greatly. The flier stood there and blinked a few times as his mind processed this.

"Uh, hi! I was just stopping for a drink of water during my flight. I uh, wander around for a bit by myself so I don't drive my mate crazy."

He gave a sheepish smile, his tail snapping for a moment. Considering he didn't find the other soq to be a threat, Zeph would be extremely friendly. He seemed relaxed and even smiling.

Zephyr smiled more, there was just about nothing the other soq could do to scare him without doing something severe like biting him. After all, if you knew Zep's best friend... well that was a very wild, charming wind soq who had frightened Zep half to death the first time they met. But as always, this wind soq was a bit trusting.

"It's nice to meet you Ayidan. I'm Zephyr, but feel free to call me Zep. Exploring is nice, and I love going new directions every day to see what I can find. Though honestly, I typically walk everywhere too. My mate doesn't have wings, so I walk with her more oft than not."

That was a downside to being around Zep. He was newly lifemated, and in a honeymoon state if there ever was one. He could (and would) go on and on about Jubilee if anyone would let him.

Now Zephyr was hardly curious about most things. He didn't like the idea of putting his nose where it didn't belong and getting it nipped. His wings fluttered for a moment though as they did when the wind Soq was thinking. A bad habit for when your feet were not on the ground. But exactly what was Zep curious about? Why did Ayidan stutter so? What could cause this in a Soq?

He did smile at hearing another couple much like him and Jubilee. He often hoped that his land bound mate didn't resent his ability to fly. They were even trying for children, and the stallion wondered what sorts of children they would have? Wind, or land?

"Yes. I typically try and give her time everyday to just be herself. Tell me, do you and your mate have any children?"

The thought hadn't occured to Zep that they could have a child of each way. That was something interesting to consider. He closed his eyes and tried to imagine it. However, the poor guy only saw his own wings on Jubilee or himself without wings. It was a really odd thought indeed. Instead he whickered at his silliness and took a drink of water himself.

"I'm sorry, I'm just trying to imagine Jul with wings, or myself without. It's a bit odd for me, I must confess. But it's good to know all the same. We're trying for our first children, and I'm a little curious of what the outcome may be."

If they were land bound, then Zep would pretty much be landbound. But for the sake of children with his love? So be it. Zep would spend every moment on the ground if his family was the same. With them he would be as happy as he was in the air.

"Your family sounds like a very happy one, and you sound very blessed by it. I can hope to have a joy like yours one day!"

That was an interesting thought indeed. If one child would have his spots in Jul's chocolate colors, or her curling mane with his teal coloring. In fact, he supposed some of that would be very cute on a little foal or filly. The thought instantly filled him with a joy he couldn't explain.

"Often I think the same of Jul. But I suppose it's because they see something in us we can't see ourselves. You're a very nice sort, at least from what I can tell in this short of time. Mayhaps she was drawn to you because of your kindness and learned more? I know it was the same for me with Jubilee. I... am typically afraid of most."

The last part was spoken almost sheepishly. He felt as a stallion he should be stronger. But he couldn't bring himself to be stronger. At least for now. Maybe in the future, things would change. He knew he wanted to be stronger for her.

Knowing why the other stuttered was a little fuffiling for Zep. He found that he liked to know the answers to his questions, even if he hadn't said anything outloud. It was odd that two shy Soq had happened by each other in the middle of the day like this. Very odd indeed.

"A stutter? You don't say?"

That was Zep joking. He was earnestly hoping that the other would see it as the joke it was. Of course Zep had noticed, he just liked to make others laugh. He'd offer Ayidan a smile though and nodded.

"Don't worry friend, I promise I only joke with those I like. I'm... to cowardly to honestly joke otherwise."

Wasn't that the truth? And so many wind Soq he knew were outgoing and cocky. Zep liked to think he was a different sort, not worse than the others. At least he didn't need constant resquing, like a certain friend of his.

"Exactly how far have you explored around here?"

The woods? Zephyr's eyes darted toward the treeline he knew was in the distance. The wind soq really hadn't gone walking around where trees gathered. After all, it was very hard for him to get up and in the air when there were branches and leaves in the way. So he typically avoided such places. It seemed that Zep would have nothing but questions for the shy Soq.

"Tell me Ayidan, what's it like in the woods?"

Zep was almost childlike sometimes with his trust and questions. Once he was unafraid of a Soq, he trusted them completely. He would trust them with everything even his own life, but probably not the life of his mate. He wasn't afraid of Ayidan, so that instantly made the wind soq trust him completely.

"I live by the big lake. It's a perfect place to take off, and the water's nice to cool off in when it gets too hot."
