Calixte wandered through the forest, tired and travelworn, but elated to have made her way back to her home again. She had spent much time in the plains and hills as of late; she was tired of seeing nothing but sky and green grass in the distance. Though she enjoyed spending time in the open air, the closeness of a forest's branches was not lost on her - she had been raised and born of the underbrush and canopy, and could never forget her true home.
Not far behind her trailed a tiny blue bear cub, batting at the butterflies, usually so close to her, that had fallen back to tease him. She couldn't help but giggle a little bit as she watched him with her glowing eyes; Oke had not been with her long, but already he was proving himself to be amusing entertainment. Beneath his paws shuffled the decaying leaves of the not-so-far-gone winter, and not too far off, Calixte could hear the sound of a stream laughing with snowmelt...

Lynnea danced her way around the trees wondering how soon the plants would start blooming again. She loved spring time everything was bright and new. Soon she be playing in the flowers again. It had been some time since she had wandered from the cave dwellings along the beach that she had known so well.
Had she lost her way or just hadn't noticed enough to care. Never much for heavy thoughts, Lynnea leaped onward in no real direction. In a short distance away, she could hear a stream. A cool drink would be wonderful. That sounded like a direction that a good idea. As good as any as far as she was concerned.

Somewhere in the distance, Calixte heard the almost indistinct rustle of leaves. She paused in her step, listening. She couldn't hear anything too alarming, but the trees whispered of another forest-creature nearby. Finding their judgement of whatever it was to be nonthreatening, Calixte wandered on, heading for the stream. She needed to rehydrate, and the stream was the only option she could see or hear that was close.
When she reached the stream, Cali saw a flicker of bright green in the trees, followed by a flash of pink... Disconcerted, she stopped at the bank, gathering Oke close to her.

The cool water seemed to call to Lynnea. To the point she was not fully paying attention to much else along the way. She splashed, playfully into the water before she noticed the two beings on the shore.
Retreating to the shallows, Lynnea called out to them. "Hello?" She stood slightly guarded, but did not think she needed to fear for some reason. "Who are you?"

Calixte smiled. It was another of Kenton's kind. "I am Calixte, and this is my friend, Oke," she said, gesturing to the bear cub with a movement of her neck. The mare before her was a flash of vivid color - bright greens and hot pink. She was obviously young and cheerful - the way she'd splashed in the stream was evidence enough to deduce that. "Who are you?" Calixte asked in return, taking a careful step into the cool creek. The water soothed over her travel-weary feet and sent relief up her legs and into her entire body, relaxing her.

"Me? My name is Lynnea." Even as she spoke, she moved closer to inspect Oke. Lynnea had not been so close to a bear before and was very interested in the small furry being. Never one to notice other's personal space, she moved in close to Calixte looking between her legs to sniff the small cub.
"You call him Oke? Why is that? He is very pretty. Do you know you have butterflies around your head? Does that happen often?" Lynnea rattled the questions rapidly. So many questions to ask and so little time.

Calixte laughed a little, moving out of the way to let Lynnea examine Oke. He curled his paws into his chest as he sat in the stream, a little shy about being so close to a stranger. "Oke is just his name," she said. "It's what his mother called him before I found him." Patiently, she began to answer the rest of Lynnea's questions. "Yes, these butterflies follow me around. They like the flowers in my hair, and they like to play with Oke."
Smiling, Calixte offered a question of her own as the stream burbled around them. "Where are you from, Lynnea?"

"Where am I from?" Lynnea looked up questioning, "From over there." She turned her head towards behind herself and nodded in the direction where she entered to reach the stream. "I came out from those bushes and went into the water. Why would you ask a silly question like that?" Turning back to Calixte, "Didn't you come from over there?" Nodding her head in the direction behind Calixte, where she must have come from. Or that's at least what Lynnea thought.
