Calder had an idea, which, in most cases, was never a good thing. It could have been the excitement of being out and about after being cooped up on campus or the need for something more pleasantly exciting after the island trip, but seeing as Calder was feeling a bit more of a bro with Christof and wanted to continue their bonding time, he thought of another fun activity. A time to learn, and a time to get some vital practice that would help them out. It was their best years after all.

Finding a nice location in the center of the maul, Calder stopped and smiled, turning to the Igor he had more or less left in the dark about what he was up to. “Alright. We’re picking up a new ghoul for you.” He beamed, tail swishing behind him excitedly. And maybe, he’d spot a nice little number of his own.

It did not take sign language to express what Christof was feeling in his heart as he was dragged off to what Calder considered a "Good spot for fishing".

His face said it all: What.

This was not a good idea. His experience with "romance" were few and far between and riddled with lumps and bumps and twists and turns. Ghouls had proved far too complicated.

And he needed to get back to start reading his new book.

With a whine, he shifted anxiously at his friend's side, not entirely thrilled by the endeavor.

Calder ignored Christof's worries, waving them off as only little, nervous, beginner's jitters. This was what school was about. Not only learning in books, but out here, in the big world. Calder wasn't about to leave his friend hanging in romance, nor was he about to just sit around in his dorm being bored out of his mind. Why not kill a two fish with one hook?

"Now. Now. This will be fun. So Morrigan wasn't the one. Doesn't mean the world is ending. There are plenty of toads in the swamp, and this maul is packing with plenty of ghouls!" He threw out an arm, waving out to the scene before him. It had been a nice day and plenty of students had taken the necessary days to recover that they were moving on and trying to get back to their normal lives again. The maul was the best place to try and land a date!

"Now I know the talking thing is out, and we still can't use these nifty hand words yet, but that's okay. All you need is a bit of flare, a look, and a great pickup line." He held out his hand. "Let me have a few scraps of paper from your notebook. I'm going to show how you don't even need to talk if you got one killer hook to get someone's attention." The master was going to work his magic.

Christof narrowed his brows, frowning still even as he shuffled to put his purchases over his smaller shoulder before groping for his notebook and handing it over, still looking unconvinced.

But it sounded like an experiment. He supposed he could assist in something like that. Maybe.

So long as he wasn't going to be torn to pieces again.

Another shirt she needed to temporarily replace. It had never been delightful when one of Shehk's shirts found itself being a pain and doing something to torque itself. Certainly she'd been fortunate for the lovely seamstress, Junko, to take care of it in her absence, but really it was tiresome to go shopping.

Shehk didn't like a single thing about it, to be honest.

None the less, the ghoul strode with a sort of sureness that came simply from having been to the same store too many times. She hardly glanced at any of the other ones.

Clothing was one of those languages she just didn't speak, sadly.

Then again, that may have been why she hadn't noticed Calder at all. She would have recognized him and probably greeted him if she'd had yet.
PostPosted: Sun Apr 17, 2011 10:24 pm

He recognized Shehk off in the distance, moving her way without so much as registering anything else. It was perfect. All too perfect. Not only did he HATE that Shehk was with that loser, dirtbag, villainous mutt of a monster, but she was an undead just like Christof! It was made to be. He was sure of it, and like any good friend to both of them, he was ready.

Beaming, he snatched up the notebook and began to write. "Usually when hitting on someone, it's good to complement something about them. It makes them know you noticed them. Go for things about their body. It shows that out of everyone, they were the most beautiful and caught your eye. That makes it special. You can go for generic lines to catch their attention, but it's good to be specific. Look at them, and write something good about them. I'll write something first."

Pulling out his pen from his jacket, he wrote on a piece of paper and tore off the strip once finished. In curly font said, Do you have a needle? I saw you and my heart fell apart at the seams. He grinned at his line. "See. Hand that off to her, flash a sweet, sweet look that says you are really thinking she's amazing, and if she starts talking, you have your in! Oh, and hold your heart too as if it's just ACHING at the sight of her. Just keep writing and talking and work to getting her number. That way you can get a date later!" He handed off his strip of a pick-up line to him. "Now go over there to her, and hand off that paper." He gave a nice yet forceful shove against Christof's back towards Shehk. What he didn't say was that she might not talk to him at all and just slap him. Well, those were the hazards of romance.

Christof glanced to the figure Calder was indicating before looking down at the curly ghoulish handwriting and scowling. He... didn't really expect him to GIVE this to her, did he?

Judging by the Kelpie's expression, a command was a command. His expression becoming waxy, he stiffly lurched towards the store in question, clenching the piece of paper tightly.

An Igor must complete tasks he's been given.

Quietly, probably too quietly, he crept up behind the lovely ghoul, lips pursed tight behind his scarf before reaching out to tap her arm to announce his presence.
PostPosted: Sun Apr 17, 2011 10:47 pm

Hmm?

Shehk, while definitely ignoring most things and keeping to herself (she'd definitely not been there to socialize), paused when her arm had been tapped on, ears perking up as she looked back over her shoulder.

"Hello?" she greeted unsurely, until this look of recognition came over her face. Oh. She knew this guy. She'd gotten pegged with a water balloon during the school play because of him. Though they'd chatted a bit since then to clear that up.

None the less, one brow arched evveerrr so slightly, the stitching on her face tugging along with it. She...wasn't quite sure what to make of his approach to her. Was he simply trying to say hello?

That could have been it.

"Christof, right?" she seemed rather sure about that fact. "Eu vorbesc cu tine peste calculator, da?" she added, testing to see if her memory was serving her, though she felt she'd be hard-pressed to get his identity wrong (who else in school was a patchworked igor?)

Calder peeked from behind a poster display and looked out to the pair. Awww. They were so cute together. He could see them together now on some hill, dead grass blowing in the gentle breeze, blushing at each other as they fixed each other's limbs using matching thread. They could even stitch their names the other's arm and pass notes to each other in class. It was perfect, but right now were the vital seconds that would judge if this was meant to be, or at least could be, or if Calder would have to cover his ears when palm met cheek.
PostPosted: Sun Apr 17, 2011 11:13 pm

Flushing hotly, Christof was positively trembling when he nodded frantically to the question. He swallowed, glancing over his shoulder out the doorway for any sight of Calder but- the kelpie had vanished. Fantastic.

Probably still watching. He didn't dare turn around to look. His hand shot out in a stiff, compulsive motion to offer her the scrap of paper, the exposed patches over his scarf a potpourri of crimsons.

"Do you have a needle? I saw you and my heart fell apart at the seams." it read in a curly, distinctly ill fitting to the ragged figure huddled in front of her, handwriting.

He tried his best to show the expression Calder had instructed him carefully on. He wasn't sure how effective it was.

". . . . ."

Shehk had taken up the paper awkwardly thrust at her, unfolding it in a careful manner and holding it up to read. She seemed to take a long consideration of what was written. Shehk looked at it...and then to Christof, her expression changing from puzzled to somewhat understanding at the look on his face.

Asking an undead for a needle was less of a pick-up line and more of a literal fact, sadly, and thus she didn't take it as anything like it. In fact, it nothing else Christof seemed to be in an awkward situation.

It was kind of like any girl asking another girl for a Tampon in an emergency.

"I tend to not carry one around with me, unfortunately. I'd get stabbed far too many times." she frowned a bit. "Are you sure you're OK being out in public in that state? I mean, you seem like you're uncomfortable."
PostPosted: Sun Apr 17, 2011 11:28 pm

He blinked at her, the pained expression lessening slightly to one of confusion. And then relief. And then his hand went up to his face wearily. He shook his head, shuffling for his notebook. Just one more step to follow and he would have fulfilled Calder's commands and could *clarify things*.

Hopefully.

Hands trembling, he wrote out:

Was instructed to tell you that I thought you had very wonderfully proportionate arms.

That was a compliment, right? Right. There. It was done. He tore out the page to hand to her so he could start to write his explanation.

Again, Shehk took up the piece of paper and looked it over thoughtfully, before she held both of her arms out in front of her as though to check their length. She'd never actually paid attention to them before. In fact, her physical appearance was minimally cared for in the sense that it 'mattered' to her.

"Thank you...I think. One of them looks like it's a little bit longer than the other one though.." she noted with a slight frown. She'd never noticed that before. No matter, it was a very minimal length difference. She seemed to shake it off without getting a complex.

She did bite her lower lip when she realized her complaint about having one..slightly..longer..arm...... and then looked at Christof's arms. o-Oh dear. That was sort of a small-pond complaint, now wasn't it?

Redder than ever before, he finally offered the third piece of paper before finally resolving to look up at her in utter mortification,

Dear Miss

V. Sorry about all of this. Friend commanded. Trying to help me find ghouls. Don't think he understands my intentions, exactly. Trying to humor him after recent argument.

Sorry again,
C

Sweating profusely, he tugged at his scarf. It was odd, seeing someone outside of the interweb. The same awkwardness that he had had with Miss Morrigan only... at least at that time he had had a temporary tongue. Now... it was even more of a mess. At least he had his notebook.

Scrutinising a shop assistant was the goal of Sarias day. Making one cry would be the next…possibly maybe a funny turn was in order here or there. Yes she had it all planned out. A relaxing day in the maul, maybe a bit of shopping, except that her purse strings were holding nothing but air, but it didn’t mean she couldn’t enjoy herself! Raging at shop owners, demanding items of an exquisite nature that took weeks to make only to reject them with the slightest hint of a mark or stray thread was delicious. She was getting a reputation at the few major stores, DeadVirgins Media, Doggy & Gobsanna to name a few and had been banned from the mini pet shop twice now…apparently Hazelmut fights were illegal? What was the world coming too!

She was wearing her trademark corset, all nipped and pinched in at her waist, her generous assets on show like they always were. Nothing different there then! Her long hair had been platted and twisted over her shoulder, and it was covered in black decaying roses, wrapped in spider silk. Her long skirt split all the way up to the nether regions and she had chosen dark blue stockings to accompany her look. Cold as ice all over.

To see the monster, patchwork and the undead would stir no recognition or hint of curiosity . She didn’t know them, didn’t care. Couldn’t even place them if she wanted too. Smaller beings often went below her radar. But either way she was walking towards them to gain access to a particular shop. There had been a ghoul who had the nerve to smile while serving her last week, that wouldn’t do, that wouldn’t do at all.
