Lately, Qaletaqa had been feeling calmer, more relaxed. Ever since Tawi had decided to settle herself with the Ela - and, subsequently, carried through with that decision without running away - he had felt much less on edge. Not that Taqa was one to really feel nerves to begin with, but the days leading up to the festival had certainly been stressful ones for him. Though he had had full confidence in the lioness' ability to go through with joining the pride, a small part of him had remained wary, on the lookout for any telltale signs of her wandering paws wanting to take off again.

But that was over, and with its end, he had been able to take a deep breath again. Now, he wandered through the pride lands, quite lost in thought as he considered the possibilities of his life and the lives of all those around him. There were so many paths, he realized, so many turns that they could all take on any day that would lead them down more paths and more turns, until none of them would recognize the start - or the finish, for that matter.

Far from being worried, for that was not Taqa's lot in life, he felt inspired. There was an endless sea of possibilities, taking them further away from each other, yet closer at the same time. A contented smile crept across his face. Ah, yes. So many possibilities. It was all very exciting, to say the least, though his body language indicated anything but. He wandered toward the shade of a flimsy little tree, and let himself drop to the ground. There was a strange kind of guilty pleasure to be found in being lazy, he decided as he rolled over onto his back with a happy sigh.

A dark lion lounged in the grass underneath the midday sun. Stretching and yawning lazily, the lion couldn't help but squint as the sun shone in his eyes as he tried to wake his body from his nap. The young lion had attempted his hand at hunting earlier today and it completely wiped him out therefore explaining his collapse onto the grass once he returned home. His family seemed to have bounds of energy still but he did not wish to join them at the moment. Listening to the birds and wind was good enough for him.

Completely unaware of his surroundings, Sokanon didn't even sense Taqa's presence and he continued to stretch until his body was content. Getting up rather slowly, he made his way towards a nearby tree and sat down underneath it. It seemed to be one of those quiet days for him and he was more than happy to spend it alone. Littermates were fun from time to time but what he really wanted was some peace and quiet once in awhile. Even though he still had a lot of growing to do, Sokanon realized that differences between him and his siblings were becoming remarkably noticeable. Their constant chattering never ceased to amaze him and they quickly learned that he was a better listener. So he enjoyed days like this when things were just a little quieter.

Hm. Taqa's ears twitched at the sound of approaching footsteps, and with a gentle sigh, he twisted his head in search of the most welcome intruder. Through his currently-inverted vision, he caught sight of a young, dark lion that had flopped down not to far from where he was, apparently quite unaware of Taqa's presence.

Well, that would certainly have to be rectified. The brown lion rolled his paws lazily under his body and pushed himself up, adopting a sphinx-like posture as he watched the younger lion with interest. This was certainly not a member of Taqa's own clan, but the divisions within the pride mattered little to him. They were all family, whether they embraced the fact or not, so why bother doing the latter? Their pridelands were home to all of them, and it made little sense to the dark lion to attempt to resist that fact.

He let a moment more pass, allowing the younger lion to enjoy his peace - he seemed to quite appreciate the quietness, Taqa thought - before clearing his throat gently to clue the other in on his presence. "Good day," he said with a smile and eyes twinkling cheerfully. "I hope I'm not intruding."

Sokanon didn't think much of the clan divisions either; actually, he was still a little too young to even know all of the members of his pride so being able to differentiate was beyond him. Finally hearing Taqa clear his throught, Sokanon looked up and saw the adult lion in the distance. "Hello there. Of course not. I didn't even notice that you were there. I hope that I wasn't intruding on you." Smiling widely at the other lion, Sokanon obviously hadn't had much interaction with the adult members of the pride and he had mostly met younger lions his age.

"My name is Sokanon Galvquodi but Sokanon is just fine." He bore his family's name proudly and always introduced himself that way. His voice wasn't assertive but it definitely was submissive. Ever since he was born, Sokanon had had a lot of confidence in himself and who he was but things were changing. There were a lot of things going through his thoughts and it greatly unsettled him. Maybe he just needed someone to talk to.
