While the trip to the Island of foggy doom and traps was still fresh on her memory, the nightmares had more or less faded, and she had shortened her regret list. She even managed to catch up with most of her friends, to check on them and make sure that they were alright - even better, some of her friends came to check up on her! Mandatory school field trips might be bad for the heart and mind, but they always had a way to help strength the bonds between the students...
If anything, that was one thing she was thankful for. Probably the only thing she was thankful for.
For now, however, she was determined to keep to her own promise - that she would try to increase her stamina by doing morning runs in an attempt to stop history from repeating itself; she had initially asked Petro to do it with her, but that was for the weekend... And while she sort of knew how to swim not drown now, she felt bad pestering Mac to go with her to make sure that she... Not drown.
In the end, she figured that she should do some running by herself if she wanted to improve her stamina. Thus, dressed in a fitted tank and shorts (oh gosh, when was the last time she wore shorts?), Lizzy begun her run. The plan was simple - follow the route from the Demon Dorms to the Monster Dorms and back. However, as she approached the fork where the path splits to the ghost dorms, the run had turned into a jog... And from that, into a brisk walk.
At least she tried!

"Hey! HEY! You listening?!" It had been the same since he had gotten up. His three hauntings were.. well, doing their job. Being haunting, nagging things that made him want to drown his head in a vat of jello. Ugh, didn't they get tired of hearing themselves repeat the same thing?? Grumpy and groggy, he had changed quickly and made his escape from his dorm room and into the other bane of his existence; sunlight. His eyes burned from the rays as he stepped out and he yanked the brim of his hat lower to shield himself from it. It was easier to deal with the bright, hot crap when it was on tv.... that was brightness he could handle!!
Ignoring how his blue haunting memory was following him, zipping around his head as she pleased, he wandered. This school was massive and filled with so many types of people it made his heart.. well, if it beat like normal people's, he'd already have died from heart failure. Being social wasn't the thing he liked to do with his time. Staying inside, checking up on possible auctions and such, were. But... jack, why did he leave his room!?
Trying not to freak out in public, he gripped his hat tightly to keep himself from screaming. Okay.. okay! Calm down, deep breaths! I will not die from leaving my room. Will not die from leaving my room... um.. did I save my patapon game...? Rubbing his face as he struggled to remember, he just kept walking, with no clear destination in mind, really, just for the sake of wandering about. Patting his pockets, he found one of his many trusty handhelds and started it up. Maybe this would calm his nerves. Naturally, one would think to, oh say, pay attention when wandering about outside, but Jareth was never quite one to think his plans completely through like that.
Hopefully, he wouldn't body check anyone... hopefully.

By the time she actually reached the fork in the road, Lizzy had stopped completely, panting as she quickly removed the cap of her water bottle, taking a nice, long drink. At this rate, she would never be able to catch up with Petro! A soft sigh escaped her lips as she dabbed her sweat away with the towel slung around her shoulders; oddly enough, she wasn't sweating a lot. It was either a spider thing, or a sign that she wasn't doing enough... Hopefully, it's the former; she was worn out already from doing this much!
Looking up, she noticed that there was a boil - a boil she had never seen before - walking down the path from the Ghost Dorms. She squinted her eyes, trying to see what it was that he was holding; she was not that well versed in handhelds yet, seeing how the only one she owned was a DS, but what he had with him did pique her interest enough for her to observe the boil from where she was instead of continuing her run/jog/walk.
"Hello!" She called out with a smile when he was within earshot; she was sure her hair was a mess now, even though she tied it up in a pony tail and clipped part of her bangs to the side, but... He'd understand that its due to her working out, right? Right.

It was quite a sure thing to say that he wasn't completely paying attention as he got into his game. It was easy if one played as much as he did. Nothing mattered past whatever was happening on his small screen. What was it that made him look up? He wasn't completely sure, but all he was sure of was that he was looking around, his head tilting to the side in bafflement. He had heard a hello, right? And since he was playing a rhythm based game, there weren't words like that in it. But.. who..?
Lizzy could see him come to a come halt when he saw it was a ghoul. A.. ghoul?! Was calling to him?! His head then whipped around frantically to see if hopefully, there was someone else she could possibly be wanting to talk to, as it didn't make sense to be speaking to him.
And yet...
No one else was leaving the Ghost Dorms and she didn't seem a ghost... what on earth was she doing out here? She seemed winded, out of breath, and dressed up in work out.. oh was she running? "Um... me?" Feeling a rush of heat flooding his body, he paused his game before he rubbed the top of his head. "He-hello....? Are... you... all right?" She seemed okay and the state of his hair didn't register as something for him to comment on. Besides, why would he want to complain about a ghoul? That seemed silly... but sillier still was that she was talking in his direction. Had he done something to her? Urgh! He just didn't know!! ;_;

"Of course! There's nobody else around!" She giggled softly with a nod as she made her way towards him; her voice somewhat strained as she was trying to talk normally despite feeling the need to... Well, not talk and just concentrate on breathing. Now standing directly in front of him, her attention went to the handheld in his hand and her eyes widened slightly in excitement; he was holding a handheld!
"Oh, don't worry!" She smiled sheepishly before dabbing at her forehead with the towel again, "I think this is perfectly normal after a run!" She was referring to her panting (which was actually no longer as obvious thankfully) and her messy hair and everything which was, in her opinion, out of place for her... Not that he knows what exactly she was referring to; she just did not find the need to explain!
"Thank you for asking though!" Grinning, she then paused momentarily before pointing at the thing in his hand, "What're you playing?"

"O-oh.. yes.. you're right." Aha, of course she had to be talking to him. That only made his nerves worse and he had to make sure he didn't shake too badly. It made him flicker in and out of visibility he had learned, if he freaked out too much. But she seemed to be interested in something and he followed her gaze to see what it was. His psp? Did she play?
"Ah... that makes se-sense then." A faint smile showed on his face for a moment at the confirmation. So she was working out. "It... um.. it's a ni-nice day for that... running, I mean. Are you... in.. in track?" Regardless of her disarray, she was a pretty ghoul... well, most ghouls were pretty, right? Right? Yes.. yes... um. But why talk to him?
"No.. problem? Oh... um.. patapon. I.. I recently.. go-got the new... new one so.. I was trying it out... do... do you play.. games.. a lot?" His fingers gripped his handheld a bit more firmly but it was more out of nerves than him thinking she was gonna take it. It was just not normal for him to have anyone be interested in something he was doing.

"It is great weather! And ah, no," She laughed at his question, clearly amused as she shook her head, "I'm not exactly... The athletic type. I've only recently started running, actually!" She left out the reason; it wasn't something that she felt she should tell a new acquaintance. Although, speaking of which, she had jumped right into the conversation without introducing herself again!
"Oh! The name's Lizzy, by the way!" She offered him a sheepish smile and a brief nod, "I've not seen you around before... Are you new to the school by any chance?" Then again, its not like she had met everyone before; there were a couple of classes she didn't sign up for.
Her gaze shifted momentarily to the handheld; it looks familiar... She was sure she saw one on display in that video game shop where she had gotten her DS. Its name was escaping her at the moment, however, and she shook her head before looking up at the boil again, "Patapon? What sort of a game is that? I'm... Uh, quite new to video games, actually." She paused, tapping her chin thoughtfully as she giggled sheepishly, "The only handheld I own is a DS, and the only game I have for it is Pokeman..."

Great weather? Ugh, no it wasn't! It was too bright and.. and warm! But he didn't voice these complaints out loud. The pretty ghoul was in a good mood and it was rude to complain around ghouls. "Ah.. I... I see. Are you.. um.. en-enjoying it.. so far?" It was sooo hard not to stutter around people but when she smiled and seemed to be enjoying speaking with him, it made it so much worse! Part of him was wanting to find a dark hole to crawl into and hide forever. Not her fault or anything just... yeah >>.
"Lizzy... pr-pretty name. I'm.. new, yes. News my... I.. I mean!" He tried not to flail as he righted himself, "Jareth! Ja-Jareth's... my name. I ha-haven't been here... very long. Haven't ev-even gone to... any.. classes yet..." No, he's been holed up in his room playing his games, looking up info on the ones soon to be released or ordering things. But that was creepy behavior yes? yes.. it scared people yes it did, he was sure of that.
A blush crept up his neck to swallow his face as she looked at the psp and then at him again. "Patapon is.. a.. um.. a rhythm based... game. It's... it's really fun... thou-though a bit.. challenging... and.. and. oh Pokeman is go-good too! I.. I have all of tho-those... that's a.. good game for newbies... DS has some.. um.. other ones too... like.. ropeplaying games... and some horror games... or.. or... even drawing games... lo-lots of different types." He wanted to ask if she'd like to try patapon, but he was nervous about being too forward. But.. but she seemed interested. "Wou... would you like... to try this game? or.. do you.. um.. need to keep running? Breaks are.. go-good to ta-take, I've.. I've read... when it comes to running and..and stuff..."

She did notice his nervousness, since it was rather obvious from the way he was speak, although she couldn't figure out the source of his nervousness; instead, she tried her best to ignore it, thinking that he might just be... Shy, maybe? It would be bad to point it out!
"Enjoying it? Hm... I suppose?" She giggled before smiling sheepishly, "I'm still trying to get used to it~ And thank you! Jareth... That's a nice name too!" She returned the compliment easily before blinking, tilting her head, "Ohh? you should join a class or two! They can be quite informative, even if some of them can be rather... Uh, unconventional."
A pause followed as her gaze returned to the handheld in his hand, and she smiled, obviously impressed by his knowledge, "Pokeman is a great game for newbies! After all, I'm a newbie to this, I should know." She couldn't resist chuckling softly at her own comment, "Patapon...? Ohhh, if you're willing to teach, I'm definitely willing to learn!"
Yes, breaks are good.

Shy? Shy was sadly a bit of an understatement when it came to Jareth. Fear stricken by all other moving things was more close to the truth. "Ooh.. I also re-read.. in the pa-paper... that pacing is.. um.. helpful. Not that.. I would.. per-personally know.. I... I'm not much for.. such things." Her compliment of his name made him blush all the more. He couldn't do anything to stop it. "Oh..I..I dunno. I have no idea.. what kind of class-classes would.. be good for me..." He knew the point of this school and he was wondering if he had made the right choice by enrolling. Mainly because he doubted he could ever be mentally strong enough to scare anybody other than himself.
Lizzy was very nice and he chuckled faintly at her joke. She seemed easy to get along with. "Su-Sure! I ha-have time... and.. Pata-patapon is really ea-easy to get once you.. you understand the basics... hmm.." He then started to look around. A place to sit would be good to start off. "Um... where's a bench...?" As he glanced around, he managed to save his game and get it back to title screen. To do something like that, he didn't even need to look at the handheld for. "Sitting down.. would be good..." His room was filled with some boxes and had nowhere comfortable for a ghoul to sit... and that wasn't nice...

"Oh yes! I'm still trying to get the hang of it though, pacing myself..." She admitted with a nod and a sheepish smile. Tilting her head, she paused before regarding the boil with a small smile, "Why not just try out whatever classes are available to you then? You could always drop those classes you are not interested in, and choose to focus on those you have an interest in later during the term!"
She looked around as well, but there didn't seem to be any benches in sight; she didn't mind sitting on the grass, but she wasn't sure how the boy would like it.
"Oh! How about the ghost dorms common room...?" She suggested; she had never been in the ghost dorms, but she was sure that every dorm must have a common room, right? Tugging idly at her end of her hair, she smiled, "I think that might be a good place?"

"I'm.. su-sure you'll get it!" Running had to be easy for ghouls or something, right? Classes he wasn't sure he could handle, mainly since the thought of being around people made him long to sink into the ground. But if he didn't, it'd be rather silly for him to be there anyway. Tilting his head a bit, he rubbed his cheek a bit before he nodded to the wisdom of her words. "Makes sense. I sh-shall have to.. do that som-sometime, I guess..." He would need to... once he tore himself away from his games long enough or something.
He had just been about to ask if she wanted to sit in the grass when she made her own suggestion and though he longed to smack himself in the head, he didn't and shifted back to let her move ahead of him. "I think... th-that'll wor-work out.. fine! It.. sho-should have enough space... this... um.. this way." What was proper protocal when guiding someone Did the ghoul go first...? But that didn't make sense... ugh!! Ignoring his haunting bopping him upside the head, he led her into the common room, waiting for her to sit down before he would. He had never truly looked about the common room before but it was.. rather cool now that he thought about it.
