"Oh, that's just dandy..." Quillan muttered under his breath. He had spotted two people and they were both moving towards him rather ominously. From across the room, he had recognized when the boy's eyes had caught his and seconds later, him and his girlfriend were strutting this way over to the Slytherin table. Normally, Quill wouldn't have been that concerned... however, the number of students in the Main Hall was consistency decreasing. Better bolt! He realized, noticing the last large group of students disappear beyond the giant chamber doors. Before he moved, though, he took one last glance at the two Gryffindors approaching them. The series of pimples on the girl's face was rather satisfying to look at--Dorian had done himself good! He would've gladly stay to appreciate his friend's masterpiece, but the boy didn't look like he was in the mood to just observe. "Gotta go!" He mumbled under his breath, making a dash for the exit.

However, before he was there, he felt someone yank him back by his hood. "Yikes, mate! Didn't 'yer mother ever teach you mann--" CRUNCH! The next thing he knew, Quillan was on the ground with absolutely no feeling in his nose. He did feel, however, the blood dripping onto his lip. "Hold a grudge, don't 'ya!" Quillan exclaimed, stumbling a bit before scrambling up. And I had just cleaned up my face too! The bruise Attor had given him was just disappearing... and now these Gryffindors had to go mess it up again?! Quillan would never be popular with the ladies at this rate--but looking at the crop (the Gryffindor with Dorian's jinx still apparent) the girls weren't worth much.

Begrudgingly, he wiped the blood off on his sleeve and glared daggers at the two. Besides the girl's face, they didn't look much different from when Dorian and Quill engaged in a food fight with them. Though... they obviously didn't have any food on them anymore--and that was something Quillan could easily fix! Swooping down in one swift movement, he latched onto a banana and flung it like he imagined a monkey would do. "Not this time!" the girl screamed, smacking the banana down with her hand. Uck... not much of a looker... look at those things! They're volcanoes! Quillan couldn't help but grimace at the sight of her. How could that Gryffindor boy even manage to find a clear space to kiss?! Then the horrifying thought can to Quillan's mind... What if a zit popped into the boy's mouth when he was snogging--EW!

Now thoroughly disgusted with the pair in front of him, Quillan used all of his energy to run towards the door. I can't bear to look at their faces any longer! He felt like he was about to puke! Why... Why Merlin, did I have to imagine that!? WHYYY!?

Matthew casually read the Potions book in front of him, occasionally taking a half-hearted bite out of the apple in his left hand. Turning a page lazily, the Ravenclaw tried to ignore the distractions around him. He always hated going to the Main Hall, especially when he could just eat up in his dorm. Alas, his sister insisted that he had at least two meals a day there, so he almost always brought a book along with him to keep himself occupied. 'Where is Eleanor anyway? She should be here by now..' Glancing up, Matthew scanned the Hufflepuff table, but his sister was nowhere to be seen.

Sighing, Matthew gently closed the book. His sister must have gotten distracted, which meant that he had no reason to be there. Taking one last bite of the apple, he left the core on a serviette and headed for the door. On his way out, he heard a loud crack. Eyes widening, he quickly turned his attention to the source of a noise. A pair of Gryffindors - good folks, those - were advancing on a rather crippled-looking Slytherin. Frowning, Matthew walked towards the small group.
'Conflict... I'm glad I'm here to end it.' Watching the injured boy run, Matthew heroically stood in the path between him and the Gryffindors.

He smiled politely to them, performing a quick bow before speaking.
"My good sir and lady, while I am unsure why you are harming that boy, I must insist that you decease. You come off as nothing other than a brute once you resort to physical violence, and I am certain neither of you are so tribal." He quickly revealed one of his most stunning features - his smile. "Thank-you, I am sure you will understand, and good day. Oh, and my dear, may I say you look absolutely gorgeous," He complimented sincerely. And without waiting for a response, he was tailing the Slytherin that had disappeared.

Quillan didn’t know why, but the Gryffindors weren’t chasing him any longer. By the time he did realize this, though, he was already at the bottom of the stairs, so he just decided to head down the nearest hallway anyway. Though he wasn’t going to complain, Quillan was a bit disgruntled about their retreat. Where was the fun in that!? He already had a nasty bloody nose, and he figured it’d just be better to go all out—but noooo! Those dummies decided not to chase him, for some reason or another. ”Pah, what the heck!” He muttered, kicking a small pebble down the hallway with an exaggerated swing that temporarily put him off balance. When both feet returned to the ground, he continued down the hallway, sincerely missing his pursuers. In fact, Quillan was half tempted to return to the Main Hall! But… those horribly long stairs! And those pimples! Uck… decided. I’m not going to bother to go back up. Quillan finally slowed his feet and began to walk leisurely.

I wonder what got ‘em… They had seemed pretty adamant about giving him some pain—perhaps it was a teacher? It seemed a bit unlikely though, seeing as there hadn’t been anyone besides students hanging around the Main Hall and Quill would’ve seen one going into the room as he was running away if they had just arrived. What about another student? Probably another bloody Gryffindor pretendin’ to be brave… Quillan thought bitterly, a scowl on his face. Though he didn’t have any ill will towards the House itself, he was; however, weary about the ‘hero’ stealing his fun. ”Well, puey…” He heaved a large sigh. No matter what had distracted the pair, Quillan was now left to himself with nothing to do.

Gah! Is there anything fun going on? He tried to remember if anything was going on, but came up short. Quillan thought he could find Dorian or perhaps Moa if not him… But he hadn’t the slightest clue to their whereabouts at the moment! Sure, Quillan could probably find at least one of them if he asked around, but that would be such a hassle! And he was sure that he would lose interest halfway, so that quest seemed hopeless even if he did put forth some effort. So—what could he do to amuse himself?

Immediately after he asked himself that question, a brilliant solution came to mind—he could sleep! Seconds afterward, he was throwing himself down on the ground behind a statue, leaning his head on its golden knee. With a pleasant smile on his face, Quillan closed his eyes and prepared to be taken off to dreamland.

Eleanor flung herself down the hallway, her short hair and striped scarf flying out behind her. "Ugh..." She groaned, "I'm totally late!" She had barely managed to get changed after Quidditch practice. One sleeve of her vest had slid down her shoulder as she ran along, and her stripey socks were pulled up to different lengths up her legs. She was relieved that she never bothered with shoes - laces take so long to do up!

'What if he left without me?' She thought miserably. Eleanor had kept her twin Matthew waiting for a while.. 'No.. Matt wouldn't do that!' Lost in thought, Eleanor didn't notice the friction between her socks and slippery wooden floor begin to disappear. By the time she realized, her feet collapsed from under her and she crashed into the ground, sliding a fair way across the floor. She let out a shriek of pain, clutching her left leg. She looked around the empty halls, but no one was about to help her.

"Nngh... I-I can't stand.." She moaned helplessly. The pain in her leg would disappear, but she'd be stuck on the floor for a while. She tried to huddle to the side wall and let out a whimper of pain. Collapsing about a meter away, Eleanor shook her head that was throbbing angrily. She must have hit her head when she flew head-first into the ground. She glanced at the hall once more, spotting a statue nearby... was that a foot sticking out from behind it?

What a stiff! Saga balked, her mouth literally hanging. She had been watching the scene before her unfold with mild interest since the two fifth year Gryffindors pointed the first year Slytherin out. Not after long, they began to approach him--which is when everything went down hill, in Saga's opinion. The boy spotted them and tried to make a break for it, but it was futile and he got a bloody nose for the attempt. A bit drastic on the fifth years' part, but then again, Saga didn't know what the boy had done in the first place to deserve such a response. Knowing Slytherins, however, he likely had it coming in some way, shape, or form. But still, Saga couldn't just sit back and watch TWO fifth years beat up ONE first year! Just as she was about to intervene, the younger boy chucked a banana which was smacked down by the Gryffindor girl. Huhh... maybe I shouldn't get involved... He seems pretty feisty... While she hesitated, the Slytherin boy managed to escape from the room leaving the two Gryffindors to chase him. "HEY!" Saga yelled, jumping up from her seat, ready to intervene. However, someone had beat her to it, a young Ravenclaw boy, the one Saga would come to call "the stiff." He waltzed up to the two upperclassman and basically called them tribal. It was HILARIOUS. People actually talk like that!?

Thoroughly captivated, when the Ravenclaw boy left, Saga immediately followed, leaving her books and bags behind her in the Common Room. "Hey! WAIT!" She yelled, jogging to catch up to the boy. A few studying students gave her a nasty look, which Saga chose to ignore. If she let stuff like that distract her, the Ravenclaw boy would get away in no time! Once out of the Main Hall, Saga looked right and left, trying to spot where the boy had been going. Spotting his back, she ran up to him and clamped her hand on his shoulder. "Wait up a second, please!"

"Phew! I'm glad I caught up to you!" Saga exclaimed, releasing the boy's shoulder. "That was pretty cool of you to stop those fifth years, you beat me to it!" She gave the boy a smile, hoping that she wasn't irritating him like she seemed to do to the rest of the Ravenclaws. "Where are you going, by the way?" Saga inquired, placing all her weight on one foot to lean past the Ravenclaw boy to see down the hallway. Nothing seemed to be there. Frowning a bit, Saga looked back to the boy expectantly.

"I'm Saga Priimuua. And you are?" Saga held out her hand, grinning widely at the boy.

Quillan had barely even shut his eyes when he heard a strange, animalistic noise coming from the nearby staircase. "GAH!?" His head snapped up from statue's knee, the sound having alarmed him greatly. "What the bloody hell is that!?" It sounded like some sort of cat was being tortured! I don't think Hogwarts teaches the Unforgivable Curses... and even if they did, they wouldn't practice on cats... So what IS that!? No matter what it was, it had managed to scare Quillan awake. Wide eyed and dazed, he stood up and peaked his head out from behind the statue cautiously--y'know, just in case it was something like a goblin or an ogre ready to club his face off.

Surprisingly, what he saw was several feet shorter than what he was prepared to see. And it wasn't green and gross looking. In fact, she looked pretty cute. Huuuh, I wonder if that makes me sadistic if I think that's cute... Quillan wondered to himself, tilting his head sideways and continuing to stare at the girl. She looked as if she was in pain and she was trapped in the staircase, struggling quite a bit. Quillan had to muffle his laughter and he temporarily disappeared behind the statue to cover his chuckles. "Pahaha... I wish I had a camera right now!" He would have definitely kept the picture for a laugh now and then.

Finally, he stopped laughing and decided to man up to help the Hufflepuff. Emerging completely from behind the statue, Quillan trotted over to her. "Yikes, I haven't seen someone do that since the first week of school!" He exclaimed, offering her his hand for a lift up. "Very skillful, missie." Though she probably wouldn't appreciate it, he winked at her, a devilish grin stuck on his face. This situation is TOO rich... "Anywho, are you alright?" He inquired, wondering if he'd have to take a trip to the Infirmary today... If he did, perhaps the nurse would let him sleep again--though Quillan thought that faking illness two days in a row was a bit much, even for him. There's NO WAY that the nurse wouldn't think of him suspiciously, he already visited the Hospital Wing far too often as is...

Matthew could tell that he wasn't going to catch the Slytherin at the rate he was walking, so he briskly picked up the pace. But as he went to turn a corner, he felt an unwelcome touch on his shoulder. Spinning around, Matthew instinctively tensed, assuming it was the two Gryffindors from earlier. Instead, Matthew looked down on a first year Gryffindor girl, rather than looking up at two fifth years. Smiling, he did a quick bow. This girl seemed nice enough, and energetic too - much like his sister Eleanor.

Matthew took her hand firmly and gave her a swift handshake.
"It's an absolute pleasure to meet you Saga," He said sincerely, "My name is Matthew Kleinschmidt." Matthew acknowledged that he had a rather odd and difficult surname. Clearly it was of German heritage, however the German ancestry died out four or five generations back. Still, Matthew was proud of his heritage and rarely excluded his surname in introductions.

Matthew turned his attention to the girl's previous questions, releasing her hand and nodding.
"Conflict, be it verbal or physical, has no place within the school halls," He explained confidently, "I was heading in the same direction of the injured Slytherin boy to inquire why he had been targeted by those Gryffindors." Matthew was about to bid the girl farewell when he realized she could aid him in his search. "Would you perhaps like to join me?"

Eleanor squeezed her eyes shut, trying to ignore the pain. It didn't work. 'If Quidditch practice hadn't run late this wouldn't have happened.' She thought with a huff. 'It wasn't my fault those dorks wouldn't stop mucking about!' Eleanor liked the majority of the Quidditch team, but some of the boys in particular seemed to find it difficult to focus on the game rather than stupid stunts. They certainly didn't impress Eleanor - or anyone else for that matter!

Hearing a noise, Eleanor's eyes snapped open. She whimpered as the Slytherin boy approached, expecting to be tormented. Instead she was offered help.
"Yeah... Maybe I shouldn't just wear socks on these slippery floors?" She laughed, accepting his hand happily. She stiffened when the boy winked at her, and this distraction quickly made her forget about the pain in her leg. Feeling a sting of disagreement from the injured muscles, she quickly lost her balance.

Eleanor let out a small squeak of surprise, barely managing to regain her feet.
'Ugh.. it would have been so embarrassing if I had fallen over again!' At his question, Eleanor bit her lip and nodded meekly. "I'll be ok, I'm tough!" She joked, puffing out her chest. Taking a good look at the boy, she almost giggled at his smile. 'What a cutie!' She thought innocently, grinning back at him. "Thanks so much for helping me! Now I owe you," She exclaimed, returning his wink from earlier.

Quillan shrugged, "Are you just wearing socks?"he inquired curiously as he pulled the girl up. It seemed like a pretty fun idea to Quillan, otherwise he wouldn't have given it a second thought. The floors were pretty slippery, Quillan wouldn't be surprised if he was able to skid from the stairs all the way to the end of the hallway! I want to do that... Quillan thought longingly. He was so distracted that he barely even noticed that the Hufflepuff girl had stumbled again. When he did, he blinked twice before erupting in a grin. "Graceful like a swan, aren't we?" He inquired, his eyebrow raised and a devilish smirk on his face. However, he didn't make a move to try and steady her. "Suuure you are, dear." Quillan responded to her announcement that she was tough, tilting his head to the side to retain the look of disbelief.

To be honest, he was a bit taken back when the girl winked at him. In fact, a frown immediately appeared on his face because of it. That's... boring... He thought mournfully, shrugging slightly. "It's no big deal." He briskly responded, still a bit sour that the girl winked at him. People with confidence weren't any fun to toy with... Alas, these are the woes of my life! Quillan glanced at the Hufflepuff girl and gave a soft sigh. It would've been ten times more fun if she had been flustered! But nooo--of course not.

Well... might as well make the most of the situation anyway!

Quillan leaned down and yanked both of his shoes off, revealing two Irish colored toe-socks. "Lift your feet up for a second," Quillan commanded, grabbing her feet and forcefully lifting one up. If she had shoes on, he yanked them off. If not, she was ready to go already! Quillan grappled onto her arm and pulled her back several feet. "Don't worry--I'm a professional." He reassured her, moving back two more feet before sprinting down the hallway, dragging Eleanor with him. Then, he stopped. His feet kept sliding and Quillan grinned like a mad man, still holding on tightly to Eleanor's arm. He hoped she stopped though! Otherwise he'd be the one being pulled now!

Saga shook Matthew's hand readily. She had done it thousands of times when people visited Grandma Huldah. But she had to be honest, it surprised her a little bit to have an eleven-year old initiate a handshake. It seemed grossly formal to her. However, Saga didn't comment on it. She just smiled and nodded politely. Matt was indeed a stiff. It made her smile a little secret smile, completely amused with his actions. This guy would be a riot in class... Talkin' in his know-it-all voice and usin' his big words... Why hadn't Saga ever noticed him before? Oh well, she thought, she would just have to make the most of it now that she did notice his existence--and what fun this would be!

Saga nodded excitedly, "I'd be honored to!" She exclaimed, giving a little bow. She was trying her best not to mock him but she had already integrated some of his strange manners into her speech and she was having an absolute ball with it. "Shall we find that little--WHOA!" Saga jumped back several feet. They had been moving around the curve into another hallway when two kids zoomed past them, sliding wildly on the floor. "No fair! I want to try!" Saga protested, her face contorting like a child who's toy was taken away from her.

Her neck craned a little to watch the two first-years continue to slide. Uh-oh... "You--you don't suppose they're going to run into that wall, do you?" Saga inquired to Matt, cringing at the mere thought of impact.

It had been several days since Eswen's first run in with Ezra and she hadn't seen the boy since. It wasn't that she was consciously avoiding him, but their schedules didn't align very well. Eswen always woke up far earlier than the rest of the Gryffindors to go to the Main Hall, she had been only distracted that day because of the owl. And she always got to her classes as early as possible, sitting rather secludedly in the front row. When she wasn't in her classes, she was either in the Potion's classroom or in the library studying potions--both places weren't the hot spots for first years to go. And from what she heard about Ezra the past few days--Eswen uncomfortably realized she immediately tuned in when she heard his name--there was no way he'd be close to either of those places unless forced.

She was thankful of that fact too! The last thing Eswen wanted was for him to toy with her again--she was absolutely ashamed of herself for being so dumb! Just thinking about it made her blood boil! Unable to study more in her current mood, Eswen shut her book loudly before gathering up her things and hurrying out of the library. Lately, she was having troubles concentrating and that frustrated her beyond belief!

Just as she was about to make her way to the Potion's classroom to ask the professor some questions, Eswen heard the voices of the same Gryffindor group that she had met with Ezra. Instantaneously, her heart skipped a beat and she scuttled backwards, hiding behind the nearest thing she could find: a curtain. Why am I doing this?! Eswen wondered in disbelief, she was hiding behind a CURTAIN. A CURTAIN! What in Merlin's Beard was she thinking!? Eswen couldn't even explain why she was hiding in the first place!

She couldn't move now, that was for sure. The group of Gryffindors were passing and she could only fathom how suspicious it'd look if she appeared from behind a curtain just as they were passing. None of them had been giving her a particularly easy time in the Common Room since the day with Ezra and they would jump to some strange conclusion about her again if she came out now. As they passed, Eswen held her breath. Only after she was sure they had gone did she emerge from out the curtains and continue on her way.

As she turned a corner, she saw two first years sliding towards her. Eswen gave a small yelp of surprise and jumped to the wall. They narrowly missed her. What is up with these kids!? Eswen wanted to shriek, but she just bowed her head and kept walking down the hallway.

Eleanor became sad when she saw that Quillan didn't respond well to her. She wasn't sure why he became suddenly boring.. 'It couldn't be because I winked, I mean, he did the same!' She was about to bid him farewell with a huff when he mentioned socks. She immediately brightened - Eleanor had trouble with mood swings - and nodded ecstatically. "I hate shoes! I never wear them, except for Quidditch practice," She declared happily. Strangely, Eleanor barely slipped though, probably because she didn't run around the halls much.

She squealed happily when Eleanor saw what socks the boy was wearing.
"Those are fantastic!! And Irish!" She exclaimed, absolutely enthralled, "Oh my gosh, that explains your completely adorable accent! I love it!" Eleanor was a sucker for accents, specifically Irish and Scottish ones nonetheless. Feeling her get pulled along by the Slytherin, Eleanor honestly couldn't care less. She happily let him drag her down the hall, but let out a shriek when he skidded to a halt. She clung to him desperately. "I don't like this game.." She moaned, feeling her feet wanting to give way beneath her. She was so busy focusing on her own predicament she didn't notice anyone around her - including her own brother!

Matthew smiled weakly at Saga. His burst of confidence that he gained from the previous confrontation with the Gryffindors slowly left his body and he turned back into his normal, shy self. He could tell that her mannerisms were different to how she would normally act and had no doubt it was due to his own formality. He wasn't offended, though - if anything he was slightly relieved. Most people just walked away from Matt when he acted far more mature than most children his age.

Because Matthew was looking ahead, he was more prepared than Saga for the couple that flew by them. Hearing her comment, however, Matt quickly looked up the hall.
"Possibly.." He agreed. It was extremely unexpected when another Gryffindor girl walked right in the path of the two. Eyes widening, Matthew quickly ran towards her, hoping she'd stop when he came near. "Are you ok? You almost got- Elle!?" Matthew had finally noticed that one of the stumbling first years was his twin.

In a state of shock, Matthew only realized the potential danger of the situation when he heard the distressed noises coming from his sister. Enraged, Matthew marched towards the Slytherin boy, attempting to pry his sister off of him.
"What do you think you are doing with my sister?" He asked in an authoritative voice, trying not to let his anger show. "She could have gotten hurt! This is how you repay me from saving you from those fifth years earlier?" He asked in surprise, still amazed that the boy thought of this whole situation as a good idea.

Quillan just grinned and grinned some more when he heard the Hufflepuff girl's desperate plea. Yup. I think this makes me sadistic! He thought, finding a strange amount of pleasure at the girl's terror. In fact, he was half tempted to slip out of her grasp, just to see her panic some more. "BEEP! BEEP!" Quillan announced, imitating a Muggle-car as he passed through the hallway, nearly hitting three people as he did. "Coming through people! MOVE--whoa, that was a close one!" He commented to the Hufflepuff girl, his eyes dancing with excitement. She looked absolutely terrified! I have to try this with Dorian sometime! He thought excitedly as his body's momentum slowed. "Oh, do you suppose we'll hit that wall, girlie?" He inquired to her, indicating to the stone before them. If he could manage to get her to panic more that would be fantas--

"Whoa, chill out, man!" Quillan exclaimed after he had been forcefully pried away from the Hufflepuff. From the tone of voice, he half expected to see a teacher standing in front of him but it was just another first year. "Saved me? From those Gryffindors? Are you kiddin'? You should just learn not to meddle." Quillan growled at the boy--how had he managed to ruin his fun TWICE?! That took some serious talent. What kind of normal person was that nosy anyway? "Have your sister, she's all yours, lover-boy." Quillan threw up his hands in an exasperated manner before shoving them deep into his pockets.

He only paused to retrieve his shoes before turning down another hallway. I'll find a different hallway! Or I'll just go to sleep or something--yeah, that sounds good. By now, he had calmed down some. Quillan wasn't sure why he was so irrationally angry at the Ravenclaw boy, it just happened. Usually he was more cool headed than that. He suspected he was just cranky because he needed a nap. As he turned down the hallway, he spotted another Gryffindor girl standing there watching the scene. She looked at him and Quillan returned her gaze steadily without any amusement or animosity.

I want a nap... He whined to himself, finding the same statue as earlier and plopping down behind it. As he did, he noticed another group of Gryffindors wandering the hallways. "Swear to Merlin, if they wake me up, there will be blood..." he mumbled to himself, wearily watching the group approach.

Ezra walked slowly down the halls, hands in his pockets. He had been in a sour mood the day Eswen yelled at him. He cheered up the few days that followed, but seeing an owl in the dormitory had made him miserable again. 'This is stupid. Any other girl - or person, for that matter - would be out of my head by now.' He thought angrily. He assumed it was because she was so different to anyone else he'd met in Hogwarts. Still, remembering her made him want to get away from the common room, which resulted in him aimlessly stalking the halls.

Hearing a noise, Ezra's head snapped up. It was a shriek, followed by a small squeal. Eyes narrowing he picked up his pace to find out what was going on. But before he made it past a corner he saw Eswen. Eyes widening, his arms fell by his side as he stopped. Was it her? What were the chances he'd run into her? Ecstatic, Ezra had found an opportunity to make things right.
"Eswen!" He called, jogging to stand by her. "Listen, Eswen.. You're allowed to hate me. Seriously. I just want to apologize for being such a jerk the other day and.. Eleanor?" Looking over Eswen's shoulder, Ezra spotted the one cute little Hufflepuff girl that could ruin this moment completely. "Oh God.." he groaned. Hopefully she wouldn't spot him.
