Walking along the edge of a meadow with a thick bank of trees on her left Yanarmari let her eyes roam. Her leathery wings were tucked in against her body, held closely in an attempt to hide them. Wings could be folded up and pulled tightly against ones body and if they were lucky others may not notice them or question what kind of wings they were. Her tail on the other hand, there was nothing she could do to hide that. If there was anything about herself that Yanamari ever wished she could change it would be to have a normal tail and instead of these wings perhaps have the feathery wings that many Winds possessed. But so was not the case and she knew that nothing could change how she looked.
Her Kalona blood had always been a sore spot for her. Yanamari's mother was a beautiful Kirin mare with pale colors. Her father, though she had never met nor seen him, was a viscous Kalona who had taken advantage of her mother. Yanamari had been the result of such an act and had always hated the traits she had been given from her father. It was so hard to go through this life when so many feared her because of her Kalona blood. Though it always bothered her Yanamari had a generally positive outlook on life. She was sweet, gentle and really enjoyed spending time with others. That is why she tried to hide her wings, so others would accept her.
Bringing her hooves to a stop the pale blue mare glanced out across the meadow. The sea of green grass was dotted with a variety of flowers coming in all shapes and sizes. Birds flew overheard and the light babble of water could be heard off in the distance. Yanamari loved spring and today was a perfect spring day.
