Bio: Mezame’s parents are doctors living in Saffron city. They thoroughly believe that there’s too much emphasis on Pokémon health and not enough on human health, because of this Mezame has never spent much quality time with Pokémon and has even developed a fear of them.

Despite her parent’s wishes for Mezame to follow in their footsteps she has no passion for the medical profession and truth be told, the thought of it grosses her out. Although she doesn’t really know what she wants to do with her life, she does know she wants to get out there and see the world for herself and discover her own dreams to follow.

As well as having no passion for medicine Mezame feels her personality doesn’t allow for it. She’s quite clumsy and get nervous easily. She tries to make up for her faults by convincing herself that one day she will be awesome, even if she doesn’t know what at yet.

Partner Pokémon: Starly


Pokémon bio: Starly is Mezame’s first Pokémon, having not been allowed to get a starter Pokémon and go on a journey when she turned ten. Starly takes amusement in Mezame’s frightened reactions to it and loves to perch on her head (much to Mezame’s dislike). Mezame soon learns that Starly’s attachment to her comes from the Pokémon also feeling like an outcast in its family and together they form a bond and vow to look after each other- even if it does take Mezame a while to get over her fear of flying types.

Mezame's Journey Log

Mezame's journey started when she left her house in Saffron after being fed up with her parents. She walked onto a route that is not advisable to take without Pokémon protection.

Falling asleep on a log Mezame was soon awakened by an angry swarm of beedrill. The beedrill chased Mezame into a wooded area on route 8 where Mezame would receive her egg and her first pokémon Starly.

Mezame then returned home to pick up some things, now she had a pokémon and an egg to take of Mezame knew she must set off on her own journey.

Once Mezame had all her things she went into the local pokémart. To see what she could buy to help her on her journey. Here she acquired her pokébelt and pokédex.

Shortly after Mezame spotted a guy called Glint who was delivering an egg and resolved to question him about it. He took her to the pokémon day care centre where she learned from the owners how to care for her egg.

Mezame accompanied Glint to Cerulean City but then returned to Saffron with the intention of visiting Celadon City. On her way there Mezame stopped for a rest but was attacked by a Staravia, the leader of Starly's flock. Staravia stole Starly from her, leaving Mezame behind.

That was when Mezame met Amie, another trainer just starting out on her jouney. She helps Mezame look for her lost pokémon. They took to Saffron city streets, the direction Starly had been taken in.

They checked the pokémon centre and found it had been ransacked. But Starly wasn't there. Amie sent her abra off to look back on route 7 where they came from. But he was not to be seen there either.

Mezame and Amie then head back to route 8 where Starly's flock lived. Mezame finds her Starly and challenges the Staravia to a battle for Starly's freedom. Starly loses but the Staravia no longer wants Starly in the flock and they leave, reunited.

Closer now to Lavender town they travel in that direction. Meeting odd and young trainer H. A suspicious character but seemingly harmless nonetheless. He leaves them apon arriving at Lavender town.

Amie heads to the contest hall to register herself as a coordinator while Mezame heads for the pokémon centre. Amie meets up with Mezame there later.

Starly is healed and the next day the pair head for the contest hall.

At the contest hall Mezame bumps into old friend Cora who she met in the pokémart in Saffron. And after the contest meets another trainer who lost a cyndaquil.

On leaving the contest hall due to being worried about her egg, Mezame see's that a helicopter has crash landed in the middle of lavender town streets.

She returns to the pokémon centre to see to her egg and to call breeder Glint from the pokémon centre to ask his advice about her egg.

He confirms things are fine and Mezame promises to call him again with news of the hatching.
