Scheelite had decided that in the subspace was pretty much the best place he could be.

Sure, he had to deal with other officers here. Sure, there was Queen Beryl to worry about (didn't want her to see you lazing about, of course!), and yeah...his nightmares and thoughts could still chase him down here.

But he was safe. Ares and her brood could not get down here, and even if they -could- they'd be destroyed almost instantly by the other officers roaming the halls. Here he was safe to wander, to sit and think about the awful events of the past few weeks, but also of the future.

It was here that the captain walked down one hall, hand held out to gently trace across the rocky wall as he walked, clearly lost in his thoughts.

This place was out of this world. Breathtaking, in a way.

This was the third time she had been carried here. First right after the battle, to make sure she was taken care off correctly. The second had been when General Queen Tanzanite had requested to meet her.

And then... now. No matter how many times, it never seemed to be breathtaking. It looked something out of a movie, something so completely surreal that she was half-convinced that her senses were playing tricks on her mind.

Officers came and went, but overall ignored the pair. She was a lieutenant where it was rare to see a lieutenant, but word seemed to have spread quickly. She was with her captain. All was well.

Sometimes, a youma passed by, leaving for their destination, to gather the energy needed to fight the senshi. Some looked nearly humans, others looked like animals, though always odd ones. Out of this world.

She was certain she had seen a little phoenix or two flutter by. Looking for Tanzanite, perhaps ?

She hadn't seen the crystal that encased General King Charonite and General Nealite. She hadn't been allowed to go in that room, and she hadn't pressed the issue, It wasn't time yet.

Scheelite was oddly silent, and likewise, so was she. As he contemplated nightmares, past and future, likewise Fluorite contemplated her own nightmares, her own demons. Her shame. Her guilt, Her failures.

She slid against the crystal wall until she was sitting, so close to the ground and so tiny and it barely looked like she was there. Wordlessly, she was undoing the wraps that covered her hands. The words had been clear - antiseptic cream a few times a day, because if they infected... Well, she was in a world of trouble, because going to the doctor meant arising suspicion.

This was the first time Scheelite would see them since the battle itself. They looked like they were healing nicely, but they were odd. She certainly hadn't gotten them by punching him out of his burning coffin prison. No, it looked like she had punched something hard, over and over, until her fists have given in.

She applied the tube of cream she had been given, and she hummed the tune she had heard him hum so much, almost without noticing.

Scheelite had gone on for a few steps after Fluorite had stopped, but soon enough he too had paused in his wanderings. The captain stood still, gazing on at the path ahead of him, still deep in his thoughts.

While they stood there, one lieutenant caring for her wounds and one captain searching for answers, another of the Negaverse's youma approached. This one was small, around the size of your everyday squirrel. It had a long tail reminiscent of a lemur, and small flaps underneath it's paws that would likely aid it in a gliding motion. The most striking feature of it though? Glowing eyes, and glowing markings, all in a bright acid green.

The same as that of the eyes of her captain.

The creature approached, stopping by Fluorite and simply looking at her for a moment before hopping up into her lap for a closer view. The youma sniffed gently at her hands, curious of the cream she was putting on.

It was then that Scheelite's voice finally sounded in the quiet halls of the Negaverse.
"He seems to like you, quite a bit. Though he also seems as curious about your wounds as I am."

Fluorite blinked as this curious little creature came into view. Not fear, not anymore. Youma would not hurt her. She was a lieutenant. One of their own.

And this one was acting more like her dog than some sort of monster, anyway. Her first reflex was to hold her hands up, in fear that it might lick the cream and get ill, but then she realized the silliness of her reflex and put her hands back down, risking to pet the top of the youma's head.

"It's a long story." She began, but then stopped. No... No, Scheelite was her captain. Out of everyone, he deserved the truth.

"I did this to myself." She shook her head. "At the end of our half of the warehouse, there were three rooms. One was a trap. One had Wolframite." She paused. "The other... had Helicase." Did he know ? Had he seen her carry Helicase's body, before the battle had began ? "I was the one who found Helicase. He... was already dead when I got here. They... They'd written a message in his blood... He was chained to his chair. He died his eyes wide open, mouth still open, still screaming..."

It wasn't as traumatic as what he had lived, she knew at least that much, even though she hadn't been told exactly what he had seen, how he had found Primase. It was probably better this way.

"A few minutes... If I had come a few minutes before... Maybe..." Maybe Helicase would still be alive. Maybe not. She would never know. "I was so angry... so angry at what had been done to him, so angry at myself..."

She sighed, tilting her head at the little creature who occupied her lap. "I just started punching the wall. I punched it until my knuckles split. I don't know why I did it but... it made me feel better." Pain for pain.

As her story went on, Scheelite moved from his standing position to leaning heavily against the wall. Eventually, by the end of it, he had slid down the wall to sit at Fluorite's side. If one could read his emotions, he'd be a big wall of failure at the moment.

"They...were very brave. All of them. I can't imagine the things they lived through before they finally took mercy on them and ended their suffering." 'Mercy' was damn near spit, a terrible word when talking about the Blood Moon Court.

"You didn't fail them Fluorite, you did as well as any of us could have wished for. You're new...you didn't even get to know them before this happened, and yet you charged right in to rescue them. You brought them home Fluo, maybe not alive, but they were able to be buried and remembered. That's what we do now Fluo, we remember."

He fell silent once more, except for the odd tune she had heard him hum often since the night of the Blood Moon battle. As he hummed the little youma went from sniffing at Fluorite, to moving up onto her shoulder to gently chew on her hair.

"I'm...sorry you had to be the one to find Helicase... I would not have wished that upon anyone. I found Primase...but she was still alive when I found her. The Senshi, crazy bitches that they are, decided to keep her alive until the very moment I walked into my room..so that I could watch her be sliced apart by a glass tornado right before my eyes."

He slipped into the humming again, tears welling up in his eyes as his gaze grew very....distant. Scheelite went through the entire song before speaking once more.

"That was Primase's song, hummed to me as her guard tortured and then murdered her... I hear it came from Dioptase first, and now it's been passed to me. I won't forget it, ever."

She hadn't stopped to think about any of that, really. About her newness, or about the fact that she hadn't known any of them. She had felt the energy, calling to her like a beacon, and she had gone right for it without giving the matter much thought.

She was speechless while he spoke, green eyes widening. And then, she couldn't help but feel guilty. He'd had it so much worse than she has, and there she was, beating herself up about it.

If she'd seen what Scheelite had... had come upon Helicase alive, only to watch him die... She wasn't sure she would have survived it, to be honest.

She was unconciously sliding closer and closer, and by the time he had finished humming, she was right beside him, one hand resting on top of his own. "Im sorry... I..."

Words failed her at that moment.

"It's okay."
He nodded, the thought behind the words was enough. She might not know the exact words to make the pain in his heart go away (did such words even exist?) but she understood and was there for him. Right now, that was all he asked for.

Scheelite moved, for a minute it might seem he was trying to move further away. But really he was just trying to free himself so he could move his arms to wrap around Fluo, pull her closer, and hug her tightly.

"I just...no more. I'm sick of losing people, sick of seeing friends die. That's not going to happen any more. Not to you, or Zink, or anyone, kay? No one."

Deep down he knew it'd never come true. They were at war after all. But he could hope, and wish, and pray.

She allowed herself to be all but enveloped, relaxing in the blonde's hold. Fluorite had always enjoyed contact with those she cared out, and becoming a lieutenant had changed none of that - it was even more welcome given what had happened to them.

"They'll need to catch me for that." She said, amused. "I fought a brown-haired, green-clad b***h that had a magical sprint... She couldn't even catch me." Her fleeing had been humiliating, and she decided that Scheelite didn't need to know that. But she could boast what she had done well. Sure, she had a nice helping of obstacles, and she'd almost gotten caught twice, but she still got away.

"...That...sounds kind of familiar. Did you catch her name? Zink likes if we report back with names, and looks and powers! So anytime you can remember stuff like that for him is great."

Scheelite hugged his lieutenant a moment longer, before slowly letting go and just pulling her back over to lean on him. He was another that thrived on contact, from something as little as the touch of a hand, to a full out hug. The blonde needed it to feel safe and happy. Thankfully Ashley had always understood him in that.

"Maybe you and I can have a night sometime to just practice running..and jumping and just moving around? We could sort of play tag...it'd be fun?"

And distracting, which Scheelite desperately needed these days.

Fluorite more or less let herself be moved as her captain wished, eyes narrowing a bit in thought. "Hm, I don't think she said her name... Through she didn't get mine either." Thankfully. "I remember she has two colored eyes, through ! One green and one blue." Had those eyes not belonged to someone intent to kicking her a**, she would have certainly considered it amazing and pretty as hell. If it wasn't contacts, that is. She had no idea.

"That sounds fun... Through you'll need to catch me to tag me, and I won't go easy on you !" The girl laughed, playfully.

"...Denebola. That's her name. I've met and fought that Senshi before. Pretty damn proud of you for avoiding that sped up attack of hers!" His pride was shown...with a noogie.

"And I won't go easy on you. You're my good friend and all, but you're also my lieutenant and I have to train you right. Back when I was a lieutenant I used to spend hours just jumping around in alleys to learn how to wall jump soooo you're gonna have one hell of a challenge keeping up with me."

Yeah, he had to brag at least a little.
PostPosted: Sat Apr 16, 2011 7:32 pm

"Hey !" She pouted at the noogie, one hand still petting the head of the youma that was still chittering happily in her lap. "You'd think she'd never had someone throw a trash can to slow her before. She stumbled all over it."

...If she continued the brag about the good things, she wouldn't need to point out she had basically gotten her a** whooped. Yep. Excellent plan.

"Bring it." She grinned. "Im not scared !"

"You SHOULD be." Scheelite grinning, laughing just a bit. Yeah...they'd get past this. All of them. Things would be okay.

Eventually.

"His name is Strax." Here he gestured to the youma, moving his own hand to give it a scratch under the chin. "He's my little guy, awesome company on long lonely patrols. Pretty good at checking out situations for me too. Youma can be really useful, but they're sort of extended family to me, instead of just tools to be used. I dunno what the others think though."
PostPosted: Sat Apr 16, 2011 7:49 pm

"He's cute." Which couldn't be said for most youma, really. But then, she was still somewhat clueless on that aspect - she hadn't gotten to work with youma yet. Unless her encounter with the then-general Tanzanite as a youma counted.

She had a feeling it didn't. Especially not after she'd spent most of her joyride scared shitless.

"When did you get him ?" She hadn't heard anything about her getting a youma, yet.

"I got him shortly after I was promoted to Captain."

At this Strax chittered away, then jumped on top of Scheelite's head to stand and chitter there. The youma was apparently as hyper as it's master, but for the moment it seemed content in being an amazing chitter alarm perched away on the blonde. It's long tail curled down around his neck, and Schee brushed at it a bit to get it away from his face.

"He's uh...also a bit...you know. Kinda does what he pleases. But I'm okay with that."
