Once again, Devi found herself in one of her least favorite places: the mall. Devi’s fashion sense had evolved in the past year, and she learned to dress slightly more fashionable with cheap accessories she’d find off the rack, and dress in a way that didn’t make her look like her mother dressed her. That may be largely because back in the day, her mother would dress. But she wasn’t around anymore.
Instead, Devi lived with a girl she would consider to be a fashion icon: Fallon. Fallon was always dressed to impress, and while her style of dress wasn’t exactly Devi’s look, it had inspired her to dress a little better. She no longer dressed in simply a solid colored T-shirt and old torn jeans with the occasional hoodie, but instead wore clothing that was actually bought within the past five years.
She was in the Macy’s department store, dressed in a purple top with a black jacket, a black skirt with tights underneath, and brown leather boots. She browsed through the women’s clothing, looking for new outfits. She would be graduating from Meadowview soon, and would need more things to wear once she starts wearing her school uniform less.
She had just pulled a grey scarf off the rack when she saw her. Aw, ********, she couldn’t even remember her name. What was it? It had something to do with elegance…was it Grace? Precious? Princess? Princess sounded right. Did that girl live in the mall? That was the one and only time they had seen each other before, with an awkward encounter where Devi accidentally copped a feel. Hoping that Princess didn’t see her, Devi hid behind a clothing rack.

"I'll take that entire rack of dresses," Elegancia commanded imperiously, "I want to outfit a group of homeless girls in summer dresses. I do what I can to alleviate ugliness from society, no thanks are needed." As she stood with her arms crossed, watching the store employees pull each dress off the rack delicately, Elegancia noticed a dry head of ashy brown hair. She certainly recognized such awfully maintained hair, but from where? Someone relatively unimportant and ugly-- but who? The last dress was pulled off, and-- oh!!-- it was none other than fashion-challenged Devi. "What a... quaint reunion. I'm not sure how to feel about seeing you again. From the expression on your face, you're starstruck to see me once more, correct?" Flipping her hair, Elegancia trotted forward.
"I know, I know. I look great. You look... well, you haven't gotten any more weird, so that's something!" She chuckled into the back of her hand, cocking an eyebrow in light of the perceived humor. "Anyway. I see you're still dreadfully outfitted. What a coincidence to see you here again. It kind of makes me feel as though I'm being stalked-- but no matter! I'm buying all of these dresses to donate to charity cases of fashion. I think you're a viable candidate." Another condescending laugh, "you should feel honored! You're the very first to receive one."

Devi's heart pounded as the dresses were removed from the rack by the bundle, trying to hide behind the remainder until there were no dresses to hide behind. ********, she was caught. She couldn't help but roll her eyes at the girl as she yammered away with her air of superiority, but then she offered a dress. She couldn't tell if she was being nice or downright condescending.
"Thank you, Princess," Devi said as politely as she could. She still wasn't sure if that was even the right name, but it sounded about right. "I guess. Is that a compliment? I'm really not sure. It would kind of be like me saying that I think your face is less chubby than the last time I saw you." She was thinking out loud again.
"Which they aren't. I mean, you look great. You always look great." And now she was sounding all sapphic again. Awesome. "Not that I'm into you or anything. I'm dating someone with you know...a p***s." She looked away nervously. Devi's style of dress may have improved since the last time, but her social skills have hit an all-time low.

"Princess? While I appreciate formalities, you may drop them around me. Besides, I'm not a princess. It is so flattering that you thought so, though-- even if the compliment is from someone like you." She began to inspect her lacquered nails, obviously bored with the situation. Then Devi dropped the P-word. Her face began to light up, trying to stifle her laughter. "A p***s? You could have fooled me-- I totally thought you were homosexual the first time I saw you. The way one dresses says a lot about you, honestly. And your style totally screams lesbian."
She crossed her arms, then continued, "but hopefully this one dress will add some spice to your otherwise awful wardrobe. But I'm glad you have someone! Even if your only standard is that he has male genitalia. Realistic standards are best for someone such as yourself. Kudos!" Elegancia proceeded to the checkout counter, fishing through her clutch to find her Mastercard. When it was found, the heiress handed it over to the cashier. "Make sure to leave one out of the bulk packages for this girl over here-- she's my first subject of beautification. I've tried before, but obviously she needs more help."

Devi clenched her fists. Oh, Princess - or whatever the ******** her name was - was crossing the line. She was no longer a spineless girl who couldn't stick up for herself and only made threats when she was angry. No, she learned how to stand up for herself and fight back. If this b***h wanted a fight, that is exactly what she was going to get.
"Look, you pig-nosed little brat," Devi spat. "I'm not the one that needs some beautification. You're going to be the one once I rip your ******** hair out and break your nose. But maybe that might be doing you a favor, you might come out of it with a better nose." With that, she reached out to grab a large handful of Elegancia's hair so that she could yank it with all of her might.

She was laughing into the back of her hand when Devi had went all crazy like Bjork did that one time at the air port.
Was it something she had said? Elegancia didn't recall being uncouth-- just helpful! What an ingrate this hideous girl turned out to be!!
"I'll have you know that I've never had plastic surgery," she said, obviously offended, "but it's ever so flattering that you'd think so!!" Elegancia said this while having her hair pulled (of course it was painful, but unfortunately, the heiress was used to it by now), pushing herself away from Devi all the while.
A lady must never use unflattering language, but at that very moment, there was nothing more that Elegancia wanted to say than how much of a crazy female dog Devi was. "Let me go," she spat, "or else you'll be sorry!!"
And sorry Devi was going to be-- Elegancia reared a leg back, then jerked her knee forward abruptly, straight towards Devi's stomach. Being a sailor scout certainly paid off.

Devi gasped for air as she winded and kneed in the gut. She backed away in reflex, releasing her grip of the other girl's hair. She took a deep breath to regain control of herself and looked up at the b***h. "You dimwitted spoiled-rotten little whore!" She panted, not ready to jump back in a physical battle just yet. That didn't mean she wasn't ready to continue taunting her though. "That's good that you didn't have plastic surgery, it would have been a terrible waste if you came out of surgery looking like you do. You must have thought about surgery, at the least."
She took a final pant, regaining her energy. "If not, I'll make sure you want it. Cause b***h, I will ******** you up!" With that, Devi pounced forward like a wild cat onto its prey, leaping into the air with her arms out in front of her and her fingers extended out like claws, ready to tackle and scratch up her face.
