Vic Angelo~Vic walked into the pokémon centre with Lizzy by his side. The two of them stopped a few metres from the door and looked around the room they faced. It was similar to Unova's pokémon centres, but there were a few striking differences. Firstly, there was no pokémart. Second, there was a stairwell going down, as well as two going up to the balcony area where battles were held. Or at least, that's what happened up there in Unova. Perhaps the shop was up there in Kanto? "Hello. Welcome to Vermilion City pokémon centre. How can I help you?"Vic saw a nurse and a chansey behind a counter and led Lizzy over to them. "Hello. We just arrived from Unova. Are you the one I see about healing my pokémon?" Vic asked. "Why yes I am. I'm Nurse Joy, and this is Chansey, my assistant. I bet you aren't used to seeing chansey with nurses hats on, are you?" Joy asked. "No, we're used to audino," Lizzy replied. "Well I can assure you, chansey are just as good. Have you got pokémon that need some treatment?" Joy enquired. "Yes. I just froze a gligar in order to catch it, then we rushed straight here. Can you treat it please?""A gligar?" Joy asked, taking the pokéballs Vic offered. "Where on Earth did you find a gligar in these parts?""In diglett's cave," Vic replied. "Some old man told us about it, and we went ahead and caught it.""You caught that gligar!? Oh my word. How did you do it?" Joy gasped. "Uh... it was quite simple really," Vic replied. He didn't know what the big deal was but he got the impression that the gligar had a reputation around the city. "What did Old Man Nako say when you told him?""You mean the man in the cave who doesn't like anyone younger than him? I didn't tell him," Vic replied. He was beginning to think that it hadn't been his wisest decision. If 'Old Man Naki' was a respected citizen of Vermilion... "Well that's a relief!" Joy exclaimed. "If you had he'd still be chasing you now. He's been after that gligar all week.""All... All week?""Oh yes. Once he gets it into his head he's going to catch something, he sticks at it, sometimes for as long as a month. Of course he gives up in the end. Neither he nor his pokémon are as spry as they used to be," Joy said. She took Vic's pokéballs then and put them on a tray that Chansey was holding. "We'll see to your pokémon right away. Please feel free to relax. Videophones are over there. Computers, over there. There's a seating area over there, where trainers gather to swap information. Facilities are in the back. If you need to stock up on supplies, the pokémart is in the centre of town. They stock everything you could possibly need.""Thanks, Nurse Joy," Vic nodded gratefully. "Thank you~" Lizzy smiled. Vic Angelo~While Lizzy went off to do her own thing Vic wandered over to the computers. He looked up Lt. Surge on the Pokémon League database, but there wasn't much information on what pokémon he'd use. Of course they'd be electric types, but which ones? It seemed as though Raichu was his trademark pokémon, but that didn't necessarily mean he'd use it. In fact, the whole routine for gym battles in Kanto might be different than it was in Unova. Vic thought about looking up the rules, but someone had walked over and stood behind him, peering over his shoulder. "Gonna take on Surge, eh?"Vic span on his plastic stool and looked up at the girl. "Yeah. At some point. I have to train my new pokémon a bit first, though.""Oh yeah? What's your team?" the girl asked. "Gastly, Shuckle and Gligar," Vic replied. "What? You don't have any Unova pokémon?""No," Vic shook his head. "Should I have?""Well you are from Unova, aren't you?" the girl asked. Vic scowled a little, trying to figure out how she knew. "You were eavesdropping?""Me?" the girl scoffed. "Noooooo, never!"Vic didn't believe her, but he didn't see the point pressing her. "Who's your team?""Mine? I have Misdreavus, Trapinch, Barboach and Sneasel. I'm from Hoenn, Mossdeep City. I've been through the Hoenn league and the Johto league, and now I'm here in Kanto. I arrived in on the bullet train, and I just got the Marsh Badge in Saffron. Now I'm going to take on this Surge fella. You can come and watch if you like," the girl offered. "Uh, I don't know. I have to wait for my pokémon, and then I should really train up my new gligar. It might not even be allowed--people watching I mean," Vic said. He looked around for Lizzy but she must have gone to the toilets or something. She wouldn't have left the building on her own. "Sure they do. I had a guy watch Sabrina and I in Saffron. He totally wimped out and went home. Reason I ask you to join us is that I think you're the same; I think you'll wimp out when you see a real gym battle. What'd you do, run away from home to become a trainer?""That's nothing to do with you," Vic grunted. He stood up and walked away from the girl. "My name's Millie," the girl said. Vic wasn't interested. He headed straight for the counter to wait for Nurse Joy, not even looking back at Millie. "Good for you.""I'll be outside the gym for the next hour, if you change your mind," Millie said. "You should come along and prove me wrong."Vic leaned on the counter and looked through the window behind it, into the corridor off which the treatment rooms were. A chansey walked one way, then another. Or there were two chansey... Vic wondered how many there were, worked in a pokémon centre this size. Probably four or five. "Suit yourself. Rude."Continue below.

Vic Angelo~When Nurse Joy finally came back with Vic's pokémon she didn't exactly look impressed. She carried one of the pokéballs at arm's length, but kept the others close to her chest. Vic wondered what was going on. "This pokémon is going to need a lot of training. I mean a lot," Joy said. "Gligar?" Vic asked. He took the pokéballs as Nurse Joy offered them and tried to judge from her expression what had happened. "Yes, Gligar. It certainly lives up to its reputation," Joy replied. "And what's its reputation?" Vic enquired worriedly. Nurse Joy paused, to mull over her answer. "I think it'd be best if you found that out for yourself."Vic didn't take heart from that. He nodded, then turned away to think about something else. At least that Millie girl's gone, he thought to himself. There was no sign of Lizzy either though. "Hi"Vic turned around again and saw that Lizzy had sneaked up behind him, right on cue. "Oh hi. I got the pokémon back. Should we go do some training?""Yeah, good idea. I'll lead the way," Lizzy said. Then she began to skip toward the exit, singing her farewells. "Good bye~e~e~e Nurse Joy~y~y~y. Tha~a~a~ank you~u~u~u."Vic nodded his gratitude too, then followed Lizzy out of the pokémon centre. "Hey. Someone spoke to me while you were busy. Invited us to go and watch them in a gym battle.""Ooh! We should go so then you can learn how the leader battles and you can know how to beat him," Lizzy said. Vic didn't like the idea. He should probably have just kept his mouth shut. "I think we'd be better if we did some training. We need to get to know Gligar.""Wa~a~a~a~ait... was it a girl!?" Lizzy asked. She stopped skipping and looked at Vic. Vic tried to make like it wasn't a big deal. "Yeah. She wasn't very nice.""We should really, definitely go! I want to meet her," Lizzy said, bouncing. "Let's go now~ Let's go now~ Let's go now~"Vic sighed, long and hard. "No. We have to train Gligar.""But Vi~i~ic...""I said no. And no means no."

Rebecca decided on visiting the Vermillion Pokemon Centre. "Come on Sparks!" she called behind her squirtle wobbling behind her, muttering "Squirtle squirtle" as she trailed behind. She heard a young couple talking to Nurse Joy as she walked in talking about Gligar! Becca started to get sad how come everyone else was having all the fun catching pokemon she wanted that gligar. she shook her head at the thought about stealing it and running off but where would she go? She didn't know Vermillion City as well as Pewter City where she lived. She sighed and walked to the back of the centre sitting on one of the chairs.

Vic Angelo~"I'm going to use the toilet," Lizzy said. As soon as they were in through the front doors of the centre, she ran off. "I thought you'd just been?" Vic asked. When he found her she was by the fountain, washing the plates and cutlery. She said she'd just been to the toilets, and that's why she wasn't finished yet. But if she needed to go again now... "I'll be right back," Lizzy said, as she disappeared into the toilets. Vic put his pokéballs on the tray at the front desk and pressed the bell for service. None of his pokémon had been hurt too badly, but if he was going to take on Lt. Surge he thought it was best to get them all healed up anyway. "Chansey~""Oh hi again Chansey. Could you heal up my pokémon?" Vic asked, leaning on the front desk. The pokémon nodded and took the tray over to the machine, where she slid it into a open slot and pressed a big button with the first aid cross on it. "We're going straight to the gym after this, right?" Millie asked. Vic nodded. "Might as well get it over with."

Sam River Lt. Surge ran the pokemon into the Pokemon Centre. Sam quickly thanked him and the man said any time, and told Sam to come back some time and he would turn off the Tesla coils. Buddy and Becca only had minor injuries but Chuck was in critical condion. They had to wheel him back to another room and run tests. Sam got a room for the night but he didn't sleep at all. The next day he woke up and asked the nurse about Chuck. He was going to pull though, but he needed to rest for some time. The nurse said that if Sam had to move on soon she would put him in the PC system. He set out to train up his pokemon. He figured his week link was Becca. Though she was a good pokemon her lack of flexibility caused the downfall. She didn't really need agility. He would look in the pokedex for some moves she could learn.

Sam River Sam walked about the poke centre thinking long and hard about what to do. His victory he felt would have been quick an certain, instead it was a horrid example of how not to fight your first gym battle. He sat down and put his hands in his head. Right then Nurse Joy said, "Sir! Your Tyrouge is in good health. Fighting fit once more" Sam got up and walked to the front desk. "Don't worry, Surge is a bit overwhelming at times and to the point where some trainers call him cruel, but he takes his job very seriously. But he is a good person." An older man heard Surges name and he woke from a sleep, "Did some one say Surge! Cruel! Bah, I one beat him with my Plusle, no help from anyone else!" Sam turned to see this old man. What he said seemed impossible. Sam said, "Just a Plusle? My Minun, Becca couldn't even touch his Jolteon." The old man stood up and looked at the Becca who was perched happily atop Sam's Shoulder. The man spoke again, "Well that's because it only knows electric attacks. Teach it, oh, iron tail, and it will make all the difference." "But I don't have money for the TM." Sam said let down. The old man slapped his knee. "TM!? Who ever needed a TM, Hahahehhuck *cough cough*. Heh whooo! I can teach that Minun, eh Becca, that move for the low low price of absolutely no money, what so ever. I only ask you one favor." Sam nodded, "Yeah?" The old man started but forgot what he was about to say, but then remembered again, My Grandaughter is really wild about this, eh, Contest thingies. She would like to enter but she wants a ball seal thingamajig. Were not to wealthy so I can't just go out and buy her the one she wants. She wants a special ball seal that spits out Multi colored stars. If you run into this seal thing, can you run back here and give it to me to give to her. I would appreciate it." Sam nodded, "Anything to help." The old man smiled, "Very good, very good. Now if I could see your little Minun for a few seconds. Com'ere Becca." The old man reached out an arm for Becca to perch on. She looked to Sam and then to the Old Man. She made an unsteady jump to him. "Very good little girl. Now lets teach you some new moves" The man sent out his Plusle that seemed some how as aged as he was. It was much stronger though. It showed off its iron tail ant talked to Minun. The two seemed to get along very well. Within a couple hours of watching and hoping Minun pulled off a perfect iron tail. "Success! I still got it! Heee Hee Hech koph. Here is your pokemon back. Take care!" Sam smiled back, "You too Comrade!" Sam had Becca on his shoulder, Buddy at his feet, and Chuck to his side. He was ready for a rematch as he walked out of the poke centre.

Sam River Sam walked back again for the 2nd time that day. The first had been a simple touch and go but now he was looking for some one. He tossed his pokeballs to nurse joy, "Take your time, don't need them set to express. Going to be here for a few." The nurse nodded. It was a slow day anyway so she popped then in the express machine anyway. He found the old man he talked to earlier. "Hey! I got that seal you were looking for!" The old man smiled as the smile item was put into his hand. "Thanks kindly. So how did you do against surge this time?" Sam admited, "Better, but I still lost. Well I am off to a contest." The old man wished him good luck, The nurse handed him back his pokeballs and Sam was out the door.

╭↖╯.................... 「Chase Forrester」 .....................╭↘╯ Chase stepped into the pokémon centre as the automatic doors swished open for him. It was quieter than Chase expected and he walked up to the desk where a bored looking Nurse Joy was sat. "Welcome to the pokémon centre."She said perking up. "Can I sort you out with a room? You don't look like you have any pokémon who need treating." Joy correctly observed. "That's right. I'd appreicate it if you could." Chase replied. Joy nodded and tapped at her computer for a moment before handing him a numbered key. "Thanks." Chase said taking the key. "Feel free to make yourself comfortable and use any of the facilities you like."The nurse gestured over to the phones and computers- just what Chase needed. Chase nodded. "That's great. Thanks a lot." Chase put the key in his pocket and headed over to the computers. He unloaded his backpack from his shoulders and shoved it under the desk before sitting down at a spare computer, he accessed the map of the area and it information it had of the pokémon in it. Joltik lazed sleepily on his shoulder while Chase concentrated on the screen. There was a diglett's cave near by but Chase suspected there wouldn't be too much in there other than diglett. He opened up the 'other sightings list.' "Looking for a ground type to beat Surge with are ya?" A girls voice came from no where. It didn't scare Chase but it seemed to surprise his pokémon. "Joh!"Joltik jumped and sprayed some fine yellow sparks that caught the back of Chase's neck. "Ouch. Watch it will ya?" Chase's words were directed at both his pokémon and the random stranger standing at his side peering at his computer screen. "Uh... You're hair is smoking..." The girl said pointing at the slim ribbon of smoke rising up above Chase's head. "Ack." Chase moaned patting the back of his singed head. "Well if you didn't sneak up on people like that..." Chase complained. "What do you want anyway?" He asked when she didn't leave. "I was just asking if you were taking on Surge if you're looking for ground pokémon. I warn you, he's tough. But I'm gonna get him this time. Hey why don't you let me practise on you!?" Chase scoffed. "You already lost once against Surge? Man, you must suck."The girls face turned red and she clenched her hands tight into fists which she then raised and waved one at Chase. "You wanna take me on!? I'll show you who sucks! You just try it buster!"Chase waved his hand at her fists, dismissing her challenge. "Chill ooout."He sing sang. "I'm not fighting anyone till I have more pokémon." Chase explained turning back to his computer. "But you have pokémon don't you?" The girl asked confused. "You mean this thing?" Chase asked poking the bug on his shoulder. Joltik fell off the back of Chase's shoulder but clung on and climbed back up looking somewhat unimpressed and a little dishevelled. "That's just a cling on." Joltik shot Chase a death glare and then settled back down pretending to be asleep. "Then you definitely need a ground type to take on Surge"The girl decided, taking it that he indeed had no other pokémon. "I don't want a ground pokémon." Chase complained. "I can win with good tactics." The girl laughed hard and Chase looked at her wondering what her problem was. She leaned over with her hands on her knees and caught her breath. "You're going to win with tactics? With a what? a Joltik? An electric type? And a tiny one at that!"Chase frowned. "I said I was going to get more didn't I?" He argued. "Then what better to get than a ground type right?" The girl countered. With a smug grin. "All right, all right. If it'll shut you up." Chase agreed with a huff. He did need to start his team he supposed, and he couldn't deny a ground pokémon would be a good asset. "Great! Let's go then! I've needed a new ground pokémon since I gave my last one to some loser, he needed it more than I did anyway."The girl adjusted her bag and took a step forward, waiting for Chase to get up and follow. "Wait- what!? Oh fine." Chase huffed and stood up reaching for his bag and then slung it over his shoulder. He'd only agreed to get rid of the girl but it looks like he'd got himself into a position he couldn't back out of now. "I'm Millie by the way." The girl said jabbing herself in the chest with her thumb as the pair walked towards the exit of the pokémon centre. "Who're you?"Chase dragged his feet after her and with a sigh replied. "My name is Chase."╭↖╯ ╭↘╯

╭↖╯.................... 「Chase Forrester」 .....................╭↘╯ Chase strode into the pokémon centre with long, hurried steps and tried not to look too panicked. "Nurse Joy!" He called approaching the counter. Nurse Joy quickly turned to see what was wrong as she sensed the concern in his voice. "Is everything okay?"She asked leaning over the counter on her hands to look at what Chase was holding. "It's this Onix." Chase explained, holding out the heavy ball to pokémon nurse. " I just caught it cause it was in big trouble.""Leave it to me." Nurse Joy assured as Chansey came over with a trolley. As soon as Chase placed the ball down Chansey whisked it away and Nurse Joy jogged after her. "Wait in the waiting room until I come and get you." Nurse Joy instructed before she disappeared into the treatment room. Chase didn't have the chance to say another word. He stood there dumbly with his arm half out stretched. "Please be okay..." He muttered to himself. ╭↖╯ ╭↘╯

╭↖╯.................... 「Chase Forrester」 .....................╭↘╯ "What's going on!?" Millie yelled running up to Chase. "You didn't catch that crazy onix did you?" She laughed. "Yes. Yes I did. It's really hurt and it's all your fault." Chase snapped. He pulled out the draw string bag full of pokéballs she'd given him earlier and dropped it into her hands. "Here's your balls back. I'll replace that heavy ball if you care that much about it." He grumbled before walking away into the waiting room. "Hey wait! You caught that onix for real!? Are you crazy?! And you used my heavy ball!? Those things don't just fall out the sky you kn-"Millie's rantings were cut off as Chase entered the waiting room. He walked over to the window and peered into the treatment room. Nurse Joy and Onix weren't in there though. The room was too small to treat such a large pokémon Chase supposed. He sat down and nervously kept an eye on the lit up red light above the door to the treatment room, waiting for it to go out. Joltik paced across his shoulders, as if acting out Chase's nerves. Millie opened the door and walked in without a word. She sat down a few seats away from Chase with her arms folded. After a few minutes it was clear she wasn't going to say anything and her eyes we're also fixed on the treatment light. ╭↖╯ ╭↘╯

╭↖╯.................... 「Chase Forrester」 .....................╭↘╯ PingThe two trainers gasped and stood up as the light went out. Chase rushed over to the window and watched Nurse Joy come in through another door at the back and work her way into the waiting room. "Onix is going to be just fine." Nurse Joy smiled. Chase let out his breath in relief. "That's great news, thanks Nurse Joy.""You can see him now. I'm sure he'll be pleased to see you too."Nurse Joy said gesturing to the room she'd come out of. Chase nodded and went through the room. Millie tried to follow but Chase held out his hand to stop her. "I don't think Onix will be too happy to see you. Better stay here." Millie looked away in a huff, folding her arms and pouting. Chase ignored her and went through the treatment room and out through the other door. It was a battle field sized room and Onix was curled up in one corner next to some monitoring machines. The crunch of the sand under foot caught Onix's attention and he looked up at Chase. " Gwoar~" The pokémon greeted. He sounded a little weak but his spirits seemed to be up. Chase approached Onix and put his hand as high up on Onix's head as he could reach. "You doing okay buddy?" "Gwooaarwoar" Onix replied. "Glad to hear it." Chase smiled. He felt like he should apologise, he felt really bad for being partly responsible for putting Onix in danger. Onix could sense Chase's guilt and dug his tail under the sand. It resurfaced under Chase, causing him to fall over and find himself sitting on Onix's tail. "Thanks Onix. I'm sorry about what happened, and I took you from your home as well." Onix closed his eyes and shook his head a little. "So how do you feel about coming along with me? since I caught you and all... I mean, if you wanna be free I'll understand but I sure could use your help!""Gwoar!" Onix enthused. "Really!? All right!" Chase celebrated, punching the air. "Gwoarwoarwoar!""Looks like Onix is doing great." Nurse Joy's melodic voice sang, causing Chase to turn to look her way. "Yeah." He nodded in agreement, feeling pleased. Nurse Joy held out the heavy ball Chase had used to catch Onix with. Chase took it with a smile of thanks. "Onix, return."Onix disappeared back into the ball. "Let Onix rest inside it's pokéball for a little while and he'll be right as rain in no time at all." Nuse Joy suggested. "I will, thanks again Nurse Joy."╭↖╯ ╭↘╯

╭↖╯.................... 「Chase Forrester」 .....................╭↘╯ Chase walked back into the waiting room, but Millie wasn't there. He was almost relieved, he was tired of the girl, she'd caused him nothing but trouble. He walked out of the waiting room and into the lobby of the pokémon centre. It was evening now and there were a few trainers coming in, milling around, getting something to eat or getting themselves room's for the night. Chase figured he should get to his own room too, it had been a long day. Chase woke early the next morning. He'd decided as he was falling asleep he'd like to head up into the mountains and do some training with Onix. It would be a good opportunity for them to get to know each other. He packed his things once he was cleaned and dressed and headed out. "Thanks Nurse Joy." Chase said as he approached the desk, handing back the room key. "For everything."It was my pleasure." Nurse Joy smiled. "Where are you headed next?" She asked conversationally. "I was thinking of heading up to Mount. Moon, to train with Onix. Do you know the best route there?""Certainly, all you have to do is go through Digletts cave and you'll come out in Pewter City. Mount Moon is right to the east of the city from there.""Thanks again." Chase thanked with a smile. He waved and left the pokémon centre. ╭↖╯ ╭↘╯
