◊ Alex Blake ◊ Laying out a blanket beside the large lake located at the heart of route 6, Alex and Ralts took their place upon it, happily watching Carvanha race about the water surface. Both his Pokemon knew lunch was nearly ready and they were right as, within moments, Alex laid down a plate of a thickish black goo. At the sight of it all three of them sighed in unison, as much as they loved Alex, his cooking certainly left a lot to be desired. "And now you see Ralts why I asked you to collect berries before I started cooking" The three of them shared a long drawn out laugh at this remark and thereafter Ralts placed a variety of berries in place of the slop. Just as Ralts and Alex went to tuck into their lunch, Carvanha leapt out of the water, landing before the two of them. They knew what was coming... He did it every time and, with a nod he devoured the whole lot of berries before rolling back into the water.
"Raaaaaaaaalts!" Ralts let out a despondent cry, yet again she'd be forced to snack on the stale pokemon food Alex kept in his bag. Alex sighed with her, he too felt her pain... Too many times he'd had to feast on Pokemon food because of Carvanha and instantly he found himself glaring at Carvanha who simply replied with an innocent "Carrrrr" reaching for his back, he fished his hand inside retrieving a fresh box of Pokemon food and distributing it to himself and his Pokemon. "You know Carvanha, I don't know why I'm bothering to feed you again... You've practically had two lunches now!" Feeling his stomach rumble he tucked into the Pokemon food with a wince... It wasn't as bad as it normally was, but that wasn't really an achievement. Reluctantly polishing off his meal, he fell back onto the blanket, letting Ralts clean up as only she could. After a few minutes, he felt the familiar nuzzling of Ralts as she tucked herself under his arm.
Letting his arm droop into the lake he felt the familiar nibbling of Carvanha as he practiced his biting on Alex's fingers. He smiled, this was the life, laying on a deserted road with only your Pokemon to keep you sane... Perfect. Hearing the soft breathing of Ralts slow, he realized she'd fallen asleep. Stroking her head softly, he too did the same, leaving Carvanha to watch over them...

◊ Alex Blake ◊ Alex was rudely awoken from his slumber, as his Carvanha started spitting out water onto his face, instinctively he sat bolt upright waking his Ralts in the process. Scrunching his face in mock annoyance, he'd turned to face his Carvanha, glaring at the beast for a few moments. "One day, I will have my revenge..." While the two of them were locked in a stare-off, Ralts went about her way, starting to pack up the blanket and other items Alex had taken out for lunch. Once done, she nudged Alex signalling to him that they were ready to depart. "Oh... I'm going to enjoy this..." Carvanha looked up to him innocently, he knew what was coming. In a single fluid motion Alex procured Carvanha's pokeball from his waist and sent it hurtling at the pokemon, just as he was about to protest Carvanha was captured in the ball, which immediately returned to Alex's hand.
Placing the pokeball carefully around his waist, Alex would lower himself to Ralt's level, wrapping his hands around her carefully he'd pick her up and allow her to climb into his hood. Like many trainers these days, Alex felt more comfortable with his pokemon at his side rather than cooped up in their pokeballs, he'd do the same for Carvanha, but he was only really suited for the water. Once Ralts had comfortably placed her self in the hood of his jumper, the two of them headed off immediately, hoping to reach Saffron City by nightfall. "Raalts! Ralts, Raaaalts!" As they made their way down the path, Ralts would frequently cry out and point as she spotted various kinds of Pokemon that lined the route. Often he'd smile and follow her gaze, him too spotting the wondrous Pokemon that had got her so exicted... It was things like these that made his journey that whole much better.
As the sun began to drop in the horizon, Alex sighed to himself, while it was certainly fun stopping and examining the Pokemon he encountered, it didn't help get to the destination on time and despite his predictions of reaching Saffron city by nightfall, he now realized it wouldn't be until the next day that the party would arrive there. "Ralts, I'm going to go set up camp, mind hunting for some berries? The Pokemon leapt off his hood, landing elegantly before him, and, with a brief salute she was off into the long grass, in search of berries.
