Mezame jogged into the pokémon centre and handed Nurse Joy her pokéball before she even said anything. "My Starly." She gasped trying to catch her breath. "It took quite a beating from a Staravia. Will you help it please? Nurse Joy?"

"Well of course I will" Nurse Joy said with that usual Nurse Joy smile. She took the pokéball from Mezame and put it on a tray that Chansey came and took away. "Do you need a room for tonight?" Nurse Joy asked when Mezame didn't leave.

"Oh. Uh, yes, yes please." Mezame was distracted with watching Starly fade from view as Chansey took the tray down a hallway. "I'm travelling with a friend too" She remembered to add. Nurse Joy nodded and handed her a room key. "Thank you."

"Your Starly should be fine. Come back in a little while and see how it's doing." Nurse Joy told her.

Mezame took a deep breath and sighed out her worries. "Thanks again Nurse Joy. I will."

The walk from the contest hall to the centre was quick also. Just before entering, Amie noticed that there was a bush rustling next to the pokemon centre and she guessed that there was a pokemon hiding in it. She wondered what it was up to but decided it was better not to bother it and went inside the pokemon centre, leaving the door open just a little bit as she walked in.

Indoors, Amie saw Mezame over by the counter with Nurse Joy. "What's up?" She asked Mezame wanting to know how her Starly was feeling. Then she informed her, "I got what I needed done." Pulling out her contest pass to show to Mezame. Then after she had enough time to look at it, Amie put the card away and said, "I'm going to go practice with Abra behind the pokemon centre."

Blaize perked up a little when she heard someone walk by her. She looked familiur, and smelt it too, but couldn't place it on it. She didn't feel threathened though and soon quickly followed into the pokemon center. She sat down right at the entrance by the door and looked around.

Blaize saw that Nurse Joy was busy with a trainer and probably a more seriously injured pokemon than herself. So should she go seek the help or just toughen up. She looked down at her left paw where it had hurt the most. More than likely she had sprained it when she had gotten hit by that flame wheel.

Blaize sat ther and waited for her turn. She said nothing which seemed rather odd for a pokemon not to say anything at all. Perhaps they'd just think her mute. There had been times she had tried to remove the collar she wore, but to no avial. It was made out of a heavy metal that was nearly impossible to destroy.

Mezame looked at Amie's contest pass impressed. She smiled. "You're a real Coordinator now!" Amie told her she was going out to practise and Mezame nodded. "Alright." She agreed. "I'll come find you when I find out how Starly is."

Amie left and Mezame turned around to see a Growlithe standing by the door. The first thought that came to her mind was Glints Growlithe. But that Growlithe had a collar on so it couldn't be Gruff. It didn't seem to have a trainer near but which was strange.

"Uh Nurse joy?" Mezame said reaching out and tugging Nurse Joy's sleeve as she turned to walk away.

"Can I help you with anything else?" Nurse Joy asked Mezame concerned.

"Not me." Mezame replied. "There's a pokémon waiting over there without a trainer. Just thought I'd let you know." With a last glance at the Growlithe Mezame ran off down the hall to find the room Starly was in.

Exiting the centre by its back door, Amie came across an open area with the traditional battlefield layout. This would do nicely as it gave her enough room to practice. She placed her bag on the ground near a bench and pulled out Abra's pokeball, the ball capsules and the seals. The ball capsule was placed around the pokeball, giving it a purple and blue hue. With that done, Amie took a look at the seals she was given. There were three of them, a heart, bubble and a start seal each with their respective image on it. Bubbles could be better used on a water type, and either the heart or the star looked like it could work with her Abra. Quickly, she tried both of them with her Abra. At first she was surprised by them but she regained herself thinking of ways to use them to her advantage. She decided to go with the star seal since it went better with Abra's colors.

With that step taken care of, Amie focused on her next point. Since Abra was still out she wanted to take a good look at all of his moves one at a time. Hopefully she could think of some good combinations before tomorrow. Pulling out her pokedex, she doubled checked Abra's move set. Teleport, Hidden Power, and Flash. She had already seen Teleport earlier today, but would still try to put it in her performance.
"Ok Abra time to use Flash!" Amie told her pokemon. Abra responded with a quick and blinding flash. Amie blinked a couple of times, adjusting her eyes to the light but seeing the after effect of Abra glowing brightly was worth it. She just hoped that quick flash wouldn't affect the judges opinions too much. Her Abra was still glowing and she wondered how long the light would last.
Not wanting to waste time as the sun was setting, Amie told Abra to do his next and final attack, "Hidden power!" Abra still glowing, focused a little bit as black orbs, reflecting the dark type of the move, floated around Abra. "Can you see how long you can hold them?" She asked taking in the contrast of the light and the darkness of the moves. She thought it looked pretty nice but was surprised even more when she took look back from her Abra. Along the walls of the cliffs behind the centre and on the centre itself, the two attacks were creating shadows along them.
"Wow, they look just like ghosts..." Amie said dumfounded at what she came across. The orbs' shadows where cast everywhere along the walls as circular objects. "Can you see if you can manipulate the Hidden Power at all?" She asked hoping he could make them look a bit more like ghosts. Abra tried his hardest, getting the orbs to float around him causing the shadows to move too, but it was all too much as he lost control and his glow and orbs dissipated. He looked a bit tired out and Amie thought it would be a good time for a break.

Amie went over and picked up her Abra and brought him over to the bench where her stuff was at. Letting him sit on the bench with her, she went to grab a soda pop, but when she pulled one out of her bag, it looked like Abra had fallen asleep again. Smiling, she took a sip of the fizzy drink and thought that they could continue practice after she finished her drink.

Blaize walked over to the Nurse Joy as the Chansey walked over to her as well. Blaie lifed up her left paw trying to indicate that that is where it hurt. The Chansey started to speak to Blaize, asking simple questions, but Blaize gave no answer.

The Nurse Joy inspected Blaize's left paw and then sprayed some potion on it as she wrapped it up in some bandages. "There you go. Give it some rest for a day or two and you should be all better. I suppose you should go find your trainer though shouldn't you?" Nurse Joy thought that since this growlithe had a collar on that it meant it was someone's pokemon.

Blaize looked up at Nurse Joy and gave a happy smile with a wagging tail. When Nurse Joy had spoken about a trainer, Blaize shook her head and then trotted off. She had seen the female trainer with the Abra head off to the back and she was curious. Soon she walked out through the back of the pokemon center and saw the trainer with a sleeping Abra.

Blaize had almost given off a 'bark' which would have said 'Hey!' but had quickly shut her mouth back up. She gave a slight whimper to herself. It was hard not to be able to be a normal pokemon. Not many understood that. Pokemon thought it to be awesome that she could speak with humans, and humans thought it to be awesome as well. That made it a problem. Everyone would want her then. The only pokemon Blaize could ever really trust where those that where wild and had no trainer.

She then walked over to Amie and the Abra, but kept her distance and sat down a few feet away. Her head plopped down on her two front paws as she looked up at Amie. She had been debating about saying something to this human, to this trainer. The way this person smelt, it smelt good. Like someone she could trust, but could she really trust a human? That was one thing Team Rocket had placed into her head. Humans outside of Team Rocket were bad and that no matter how much she thought she could trust that human, she couldn't because of her collar.

Amie was just finishing up her drink when she noticed a small red pokemon walk over toward her from the pokemon centre. She saw it had a collar so she thought it might be some trainer's pokemon that was staying at the centre. There weren't any other people around too, so that was even stranger.
"Hello there." She greeted the pokemon. She hadn't seen this pokemon before so she slowly pulled out her pokedex, trying not to frighten the small pokemon.
"Growlithe, a Puppy Pokémon of pleasant demeanor and great diligence. It drives enemies away with barks and bites. " The pokedex said. She closed the pokedex and put it away once she got the information.
Taking a look at the Growlithe now, resting a little ways away from Amie, she thought that the pokemon looked like it was deep in thought.
"Did you come to watch us practice?" Amie asked the puppy pokemon. She didn't think she made that much of a scene to require an audience, but she wouldn't shoo anyone away.
Abra then seemed to wake up with a yawn. He gave one glance to the Growlithe that had joined the two for company, but he just said hello in another long drawn out yawn. He didn't much care, seeing how this wasn't one of his trainer's pokemon.
Amie notice that her pokemon was awake again and since she had finished her drink, it would be a good time for some more practice.
"Do you feel up for some more training?" She asked Abra, not wanting to push him too much remembering he had some trouble before. He just nodded and teleported back into the center of the area.
"You're welcome to watch if you want." She offered to the Growlithe. Then giving her attention back to Abra.
"Hidden Power and see if you can shape the orbs at all." She told her pokemon, letting him take the time needed to set up the attack. She decided against using flash while he was just practicing this attack so that he could have more focus on this. And so far it was looking good, he was able to make the little dark orbs wiggle around without destroying them. Hopefully that combined with the shadows would be enough for tomorrow.

Mezame walked down the hall looking at the signs above the door and looking for the room her Starly was in. She found the right door and walked into the room, going straight up to the window which allowed her to see in to the room the patient was in.

Starly wasn't hooked up to anything when she got there and seemed to be sleeping peacefully. Mezame watched for a while not wanting to go in and disturb Starly's rest. The pokémon stirred and as soon as Starly saw Mezame it hopped to it's feet and tried to fly towards the window. "Wait Starly no that's a-"

"Window..."

Mezame opened the door and ran into the patient room. She scooped Starly into her arms and sighed with a smile. "What am I going to do with you?"

"Leee~" Starly said happily.

Mezame made sure Starly was okay and placed it back down on the bed. "Now you get some rest and I'll come and check on you later" She told it. Starly wasn't pleased with this idea and didn't want to be left alone. It wouldn't lie down and was fussing. Mezame sighed.

"Okay, okay. Why don't you come outside and watch Amie practise with Abra with me?"

"Starly! Starly!" Starly agreed and jumped into Mezame's arms. Mezame carried Starly outside where the sun was shining brightly. Mezame was worried if Starly's flock mates would try and take her Starly again, even though she knew it was unlikely now.

Mezame noticed the Growlithe from before watching Amie as well. Mezame sat down near it, minding not to get too close and settled down with Starly in her lap.

"Star Star~ Starly!" Starly seemed to greet the Growlithe and then turned it's attention back to Amie's Abra and buried itself comfortably into Mezame's lap.

"Hey, that's looking really cool Amie!" Mezame called to her.

Mezame looked over at the Growlithe to try and guess it's opinion since Starly was sleeping soundly.

looking back up at Amie, Mezame asked. "Is this your Growlithe?" in a manner that suggested she didn't think it was. "I saw it in the centre. I'd have thought it'd have a trainer with a collar like that." Mezame said thoughtfully.

Blaize stood there watching Amie, rather enjoying herself. One thing she always wanted to be was in a pokemon contest, but her moves weren't what you would call awing moves. Fighting thought, she could do and she knew how to do that well. She swished her tail a little as she continued to watch.

Blaize jerked a little when she heard someone else come in. It was that trainer from earlier. She twitched her ears a little as the Starly greeted her. The only thing she'd be able to do was give a smile and a wag of a tail to say hi in her own way. When that trainer spoke about what Abra was doing Blaize gave yet another nod.

So that trainer over there with the Abra was called Amie. It was nice to finally know her name, and she was sure she'd catch this other girls name soon to. When this trainer asked if growlithe was Amie's Blaize couldn't help but to shake her head with a slight bark which wasn't a bark at all. The bark was a word of, "No."

Abra was hard at work trying to make the orbs around him change shape. The orbs were wobbling around, their surfaces being tugged on by invisible forces. Though all was looking well, one slight wiggle caused the orbs to burst. Amie was a bit surprised by this, and Abra looked shocked too, but the outcome could be a nice finisher for the appeal. Noticing that Mezame was approaching, Amie told Abra, "That's enough. We can practice more in the morning." The Abra teleported over to the bench near where Amie's bag was placed, and quietly rested over there.

"Hello Mezame." Amie smiled at Mezame when she walked out the back with her Starly. The compliments were well accepted by Amie. Her audience was growing, but it was too bad Amie and Abra were done with practice for the day.

"Is he better now?" She asked as the trainer sat down on the bench near the growlithe. Mezame was carrying the tiny bird around everywhere and that made her worried that something was still wrong. At least it was out and about, so that was a good sign.

Amie walked over to the others and gave a quizzical look to Mezame when she asked if that was her growlithe. She opened her mouth to respond but she heard the word she was going to say before she said it. It didn't even sound like her voice or Mezame's even. She checked her throat and coughed, maybe it was just her voice sounding funny. She hoped it wasn't her voice going out, that would be just terrible for tomorrow's contest if she couldn't command her pokemon.

Mezame looked at Amie as she heard a "no" but didn't see Amie's mouth move. Amie looked at her as if it was Mezame who spoke. Mezame looked at the Growlithe in complete puzzlement. "You didn't say that? ... did you?" Mezame asked with doubt in her voice.

Starly woke up and cocked its head at the Growlithe. Starly had been asleep through the mysterious voice but it heard Mezame asking the Growlithe if it had said something. Starly thought she must be going crazy, Mezame knew pokémon didn't do human talk.

"Starly Star Star Starly?" Starly asked The Growlithe the exact same question as Mezame did.

Blaize had stood paralyzed with fear. She realized she had goofed and knew now the two trainers where asking her. Her ears went back to the back of her head. She couldn't say anything and if she had well, it was clear these trainers where going to act the same as those that had in the past, but the one main question was would they try to capture her.

After Mezame and the Straly asked her if she had spoken she shook her head. She then twitched her ears again and then almost gave a sigh. They would always still wonder who said the word 'No.' Blaize soon nodded and softly spoke. "I did speak." She would await their answer and how they acted before she would just take off running, or if she had to, fight.

Amie wondered why Mezame would accuse the Growlithe of being the mysterious voice. But she never heard of a pokemon knowing how to speak, save for a few that could just mimic. Amie looked over at the Growlithe, now seeming very distressed. She was about to snap at Mezame for thinking that the puppy pokemon could speak, but she was surprised when the Growlithe claimed that it was the one that spoke.

"How?" Was all Amie could say, clearly dumbstruck by what was going on. She waited for the pokemon to speak again, giving it time to explain its situation. The explanation for this had to be good, so she got comfy on the bench waiting to hear a good story.

"How?" Blaize tilted her head to the side as she watched Amie just sit and relax waiting for her to explain. So far so good, but Blaize would just have to wait and see what would happen. "This collar...it doesn't come off, but it has the ability to change whatever I say into human tongue." Blaize really didn't want to get into everything about how she got the collar. In fact, she never said anything to anyone before on how she got it.

The only thing Blaize would say about the collar was, "My previous trainer gave it to me, but then he and I didn't see eye to eye and I left him." She swished her tail a little waiting for what these two would now say, and also wondered what the Starly would do. This Starly seemed rather interested in how she could speak human tongue. So many pokemon wanted to speak human to talk with their trainers, but Blaize always thought that the connection one had with their trainer was how they could communicate. That they didn't need to speak the same tongue to understand one another.
