Mezame browsed the shelves for a moment, looking mainly at the assortment of potions, they even had berries for sale. She moved on to the electrical's section and tried to understand the different models of pokégear. "Hey, I'd gladly help with your training!" Mezame said excitedly in response to Amie. "If we practise battling with each other, we'll both improve." Mezame nodded smiling.

Mezame picked a box off the shelf. State of the art. it read. This particular pokégear was the newest and most high tech pokégear on the market. Not only was it a miniature video phone, you could access the global network and check your emails, computer boxes and all sorts. It even had a pokénav. Mezame put the box back and picked up the one next to it. Mezame nodded her approval, this one was white and purple.

Mezame paid for her new gadget and headed towards the door to leave. Mezame didn't get out of the mart before she was opening the box and examining her pokégear. It worked much the same as the public phones and before long, Mezame had both Glint's, and Cora's numbers stored.

That reminded her. Mezame still hadn't seen Cora anywhere. Now seemed as good a time as any to try the device out. She selected Cora's number and watched to see what would happen.

Amie stuck more towards the front of the store where the vending machinces were, but still within sight of of Mezame. She put a few coins into the machine with a plunck and pushed a few buttons to recieve her soda pops, enough for her to make it to Fuchisa at least.

Amie was happy to hear that Mezame would help her with training. One more thing she wouldn't have to worry about right now. While Mezame was looking at the electronics, Amie was putting her soda away in her bag, hoping they could stay cool enough until she finished with everyone of them. She waited by the door for the other girl to finished and smiled when she saw Mezame with her shiny new toy.

"Looks cool." Amie said, peering at the new device. She hushed up though when she saw Mezame start to call someone on it. She wanted to know who she was calling, but didn't want to seem rude by asking when she was trying to talk with her. Eventually she would figure it out if the person on the other end pick up.

A ringing alerted Cora to her wrist. She held it up in front of her face and answered the call. "Mezame?!" Cora asked in surprise. "When did you get a pokégear?" Cora asked, she was fairly sure Mezame didn't have one before.

Mezame said she would explain later. "Where are you?" Cora asked, although she knew that was going to be mezame's next question. "I looked for you at the pokémon centre but you weren't there." Cora explained.

Mezame informed her that she was at the pokémart. "Okay, wait there and I'll be with you in a minute." Lavender was such a small town that Cora didn't have to go far.

A few minutes later Cora burst in. "There you are." She said, hands on hips as if she were scolding Mezame for running away. Cora noticed Mezame's friend and greeted her. "Hey Amie." She said with a smile that seemed as though she'd forgotten her frustrations at the search for Mezame.

"Oh did you guys see that the wreckage has been cleared up? Pretty fast work." Cora asked remembering that she'd almost expected to still see it there, even though when she left last night the clear up had started. "Oh, oh!" Cora exclaimed suddenly. "Did you tell Amie what I heard about the wreckage?"

Mezame shook her head, with all the excitement about her egg last night Cora supposed it was unsurprising that she'd forgotten. "A police officer told me it had been stolen from the power plant." Cora bragged. "Curious stuff."

Cora quietened for a moment, considering the crashed helicopter and how it'd come to land so harshly in little old Lavender Town. "Anyway," Cora spoke up. "We should head on over to the pokémon centre. Nurse Joy is letting me commandeer the kitchen so I can give you your lesson in pokémon cooking, Mezame." Cora turned to Mezame's friend. "You're welcome to come too Amie! I'm going to invite a few other trainers at the pokémon centre too. Since Nurse Joy is so kindly letting me use the pokémon centre's kitchen, I might as well utilise the opportunity the best I can."

Excitement was building in Cora's chest, she couldn't help but be so passionate about cooking. She opened the door to the pokémart for the others to exit. "Lets go!"

Amie listened as she heard Cora's voice come out from the pokegear. It made sense now that that would be the one Mezame would call. At least they knew now that the poffin chef wasn't still asleep in bed. Cora said she would be coming over in a minute to meet them at the pokemart. When the call ended, Amie's eyes wandered over to the vending machine again wondering if she should maybe get another drink real quick before they had to leave. Before she could do anything, Cora popped in seemingly full of energy again.

"Hey Cora." Amie smiled back. She listened as Cora informed her about yesterday's wreck and some of the details behind it. Power Plant? She thought to herself. Wasn't that letter named kid going there before they parted. She wondered if he had anything to do with that, but something that big as a helicopter couldn't have been stolen by just a creep like him. He might have seen something, but she doubted if she would ever see him again.

Amie was a little bit disappointed at hearing the next thing Cora said. "Sorry, I'll have to decline that invitation." She said trying to be polite. She should have expected that Cora was going to want to give lessons in food and poffin making. Great. Now she was going to feel guilty for the rest of the day for declining Cora's offer, because she could probably use it, and now not knowing if Mezame was really going to travel with her after she had just asked for her help in training. Maybe she was just being selfish, she couldn't have expected this to happen anyways. And she didn't really know what Mezame would do even though she had her thoughts.

"I'm trying to make it down to Fuchsia and I want to make it halfway through the routes between here and there before nightfall." She explained to Cora, hoping she wouldn't mind. She walked out the door held open by the girl. Outside it was nice and clear over Lavender and Amie hoped it would be this way for the rest of the day.

"Uuh." Mezame started but didn't get the chance to finish. Cora seemed the type it was difficult to get to be quiet. "Cora..." Mezame tried once the girl had stopped talking. "I'm sorry, but I was calling you to say that I wasn't going to be able to take you up on your cooking lesson today. Amie and I are heading out to Fuchsia for her next contest."

Mezame felt quite bad about declining also but Cora hadn't given Mezame a chance to get in a word edgeways on the pokégear. Though being able to feed her pokémon was a valuable lesson Mezame could learn, she also knew that just buying some pokémon food would do just as well. "I'm sure we'll meet again soon Cora and I'll be more than grateful for the lesson, when we do."

Waving goodbye to Cora Mezame turned to Amie. "That's a point." She said to her and reaching out to open the door to the pokémart and head back inside. "I ought to stock up on pokémon food."

After consulting her pokédex to find out her pokémon types. Mezame thought it best, and easiest to buy a few containers of normal type food. Luckily, being the most common type, it didn't cost too much. Mezame also bought a smaller container of flying type food to mix into Starly's dish.

With her pokémon food taken care of, Mezame realised she'd need some things for herself. She walked out into the streets and looked around for a grocery store. "We're almost all set to get going." Mezame told Amie.
