It was on a full moon that the dark pelted lioness approached the high cliff walls that marked the borders of the Stormborn. Being a rogue, it wasn't surprising that she'd never heard of them before, but for some reason she felt the name resonate with her. The lioness surveyed the area around her, then let out a roar to see if she would be allowed passage into the pride.

Fat off a kill, Abdul, Emeka’s feathered companion, had roosted in a high tree for the night some hours ago. It was just as well, since the eagle was fairly useless at night. Emeka stalked through the familiar rocks of the Myrsky Syntynyt cliffs, his pale fur catching the moonlight’s silvery sheen. He was strong and lithe, a warrior’s body with a dancer’s movements, and he might have seemed out of place among the stony crags if not for the hardness that flashed in his eyes and the faint telltale scars on his flanks and legs that told of the light battle wounds that went to victors. A challenging roar came unexpectedly in the night, and he paused, listening to the sound bounce strangely among the rocks. He could tell the noise came from outside though, and he responded with a full-throated roar of his own. It only took a minute for him to wind his way down toward the shape at the base of the cliff, a shape that bore no mane. Had the challenger been a male he would have attacked straight away, but he stalked more slowly toward the black lioness. He had seen female warriors, but he didn’t like assuming that females were inclined for battle. “Entrance must be earned to the Stormborn lands,” he growled, the threat in his tone obvious. He would sent her away if she was some frail intruder, but privately he hoped she would make his sentry duty more invigorating by staying.

A resounding roar made its way to her ears soon enough, no doubt a reply to her own just moments earlier. Aer kept her eyes on the cliff to see if there was anyone approaching or if that had just been another roar. Withing minutes she caught sight of a lion, his white pelt seemingly illuminated by the moonlight. The lioness took a deep breath and waited as he made his way down to the base of the cliff. His demeanor reminded her of her father somewhat, which made her tense up a bit. If he was anything like her father she could already guess what was coming.
The tone of his voice when he finally spoke was all she really needed, and almost as soon as he'd finished talking the lioness sprinted toward the darkness of the craggy cliff. Aer quickly navigated her way to higher ground, having a bit of difficulty with staying quiet due to the unfamiliar terrain, however she still managed more or less successfully. Her light-sensitive eyes worked exceptionally well during the night, which would make the new terrain just a little bit easier to handle as well. Finally, when she felt she was in a good position to strike, Aer leapt out from the shadows of the cliff with teeth and claws bared, aiming to throw him off balance while at the same time tear into his flesh.

Emeka made to follow her, but he moved too soon, for when she ducked behind a nearby rock she went out of his line of sight entirely and he lost her dark coat in the blackness. He only had a few moments to orient himself before her attack came. With the wind whistling tumultuously along the cliff face, he didn’t hear her and was only aware of a blur of movement from his left and a sudden sharp pain and staggering blow as her claws tore at his flank and her weight followed. His breath snarls in unconscious anger and he whirled, swiping at her and knowing he’d miss because his balance was still precarious.

She felt her own claws dig into him quite a bit, though didn't have time to revel in her success. Despite having being out of balance the male managed to get in a lucky hit, albeit only eliciting a few minor cuts. The hit hardly fazed the lioness, and she pushed forward with her attack, lunging forward and taking a few more hard swipes at him, only this time actually aiming at the more sensitive areas. Things seemed to pulling in her favor, and she planned on taking advantage of that for as long as she could.
