After Scheelite... he made rounds to many of those whom he knew, those whom had been at the fight at least, because not everyone could be. Some of course had to fulfill other duties, some must remain safe if nothing else...

Fluorite though had been there, so new, so fresh to the fight it was almost as alarming as the worry he'd felt for his own fresh Lieutenant Ilmenite.

He found her on a roof top, climbing it seemed, he watched her for a time, her running, jumping, battling some inner demon, some memory? Perhaps even some fear but he didn't know that...not now... not yet.

"Fluorite..." He greeted her, intruding on her concentration the moment it seemed safe to do so. "... How are you."

Tonight, Fluorite hadn't been gathering any energy.

No, tonight she had set her time aside for this. She'd found this building, tall but not too tall, and climbed it. Then jumped, though every time she did, there was this look on her eyes. Fluorite had never liked heights. Never had. It was a bit of a fear, through not petrifying.

She had decided that in order to better herself, she had to get rid of it. She had to drill it out of her mind that she would hurt herself if she jumped. Ashley certainly would, at this height. Fluorite ? Well, now she knew better. How many times she had fallen when rescruing the captives ? And yet there she was. Still alive.

Worse for the wear, but still alive. The cut on her cheeks had nearly faded. Her knuckles were still bandaged, so it was hard to tell.

This happened on and on, in a loop, until she finally stopped for a moment, catching her breath. How long had Zinkenite been watching her ? She had no idea, through now she had a better sense that he had been here for awhile. The energy had rang dark, so she had let it be. It was like after being assulted with so many of them all at once, she'd finally gotten a better hold of her new sense.

"General." She looked up from where she had been sitting, catching her breath, bandaged hands folded neatly on her knees as she sat, indian-style. "I've been worse."

But she'd also been better.

"Are you injured?" He asked carefully, if he was, most of it was well hidden under far more layers of cloth than she bore, the worst that could be seen was a hint of a bruise at the edge of his mask, a slight stiffness to his bearing, perhaps more than slight.

He glanced at the bandaged knuckles and back. "I've brought a medical kit...and a small book on it. I'm not Mica... but I can help."

He also had starseeds, precious cargo that he had saved for those whom could take them.

"I was treated, after the fight." She nodded. "A captain took me to subspace and we disinfected and bandaged everything." Her cheek was free of the bandage that had been put, and the wound showed signs of healing free of infection, but it was still there, plain on her tanned skin, for all the world to see. "They had rigged an air duct... Separated the room in two with a gate." Did he know, what had happened to their group ? "It exploded when I had turned my back to it to show the others the key I had found... I hit the glass and passed out." Her features were serious, pulled into a thin line. "The other half of our group told us our whole side of the room had filled with water... And they thought we had drowned. But we washed up on another room below, and that's where I eventually woke up."

And she had dreamed. But she said nothing about that. Her dream, her hallucination, had been much too personal to talk about. And she said nothing of her hands, and decided she wouldn't unless he asked. She didn't like to admit what she had done.

He nodded quietly, there was more in his face, in his eyes, questions unasked and evident in their presence but he didn't push.

"I'm glad to hear you're alright." He nodded "...Did you loose anyone?" His question was careful and with it he held out one of the small precious pearls of energy... just in case.

"If you need it..." he added giving small indication to it with a bob of his chin.

"Not doing the rescue itself, no. Even Hiro was fine, and he was the one in the most danger of drowning" She shook her head, and it didn't even occur to her that the general might not know who... or more importantly, what Masahiro was. "In the battle afterward, im... not sure at all..." She hadn't heard a thing of the other two lieutenants that had been with her. "So many things happened."

"I don't think I need it." She nodded as he held out the small sphere of energy. Her cheek was doing fine. Her hands... Well, she had done this to herself. She deserved to heal the slow way. She could see the questions, even through he did not ask them. Scheelite had been the only one she had told how she had come to do this to herself. The only others who knew had been those who had been there to see it.

They were family, through, weren't they ?

"...I... was the one who found Helicase." She looked at the roof them, rather than at him. "He was already dead, though... I think if I had gotten in just a few minutes earlier..." Just a few minutes earlier, and she might have saved Helicase. While she had been busy hallucinating zombies, Helicase had been murdered. "They had written messages in his blood... He was just... chained to this chair, still, eyes wide open, screaming... I was so angry... so angry at them. So angry at myself, and I just... started punching the wall, and I couldn't stop. I only stopped when my knuckles split open..."

"You know it's not your fault... right?" he said quietly, he wasn't the kind of person who did 'hug time', she'd have to rely on her Captain for that, he was very good at those, he said as much sometimes.

But it didn't mean he wouldn't try and be comforting.

The little pearl of energy vanished like a slight of hand, he'd been practicing. Not good enough to pick pockets yet, not like Sailor Perseus, but he was working on it.

"I'm sure you know that..." he amended trying not to reveal his uncertainly but at the same time... maybe it made him more human, as closed off as he was behind that mask.

"I'm sorry you had to see that...if I could have found them sooner..." He trailed off and glanced away.

"I think the thing is... my mind knows what." Fluorite shook her head, lightly. "But my heart... isn't quite so sure." It still hurt. She was certain it would hurt for awhile. This had been the first time the young girl had seen a dead body with her own two eyes, and to know exactly why he had been killed, and what he had suffered before he was finally given... mercy, as Scheelite called it.

"I just don't understand." She admitted. "How could someone do something like this... and call themselves righteous ? How can killing someone who can't even defend themselves, how is torturing someone to death... something noble ?"

She sighed. "If it's not my fault... Then it's not your fault either." Was she overstepping her bounds ? Maybe. "It is chilling to think that if one of them hadn't managed to break their crystal... We might never have found them." Or found them all in pieces, scattered across the city like the items had been.

The thought made her shudder. "I've visited Captain Wolframite, briefly... He didn't deserve this." None of them had deserved this. But Ladon had been so nice, so friendly... It made her heart ache even more.

Zinkenite flinched slightly at her subtle admonition, she was right of course... in a way, but it was so hard to let go.

"I think it does a lot to assure that we are... on the right side of things, at least most of us try and make it quick..." He said his eyes sliding off to one side. The fact that they killed at all put them in a moral grey area that at the very best bordered on 'charcoal'... but it wasn't torture.

Words from the fight echoed though his mind and he had to clench his fist as though he were strangling the budding thought before it could continue... but it was like a weed, growing and infecting his mind and all he could do was dig deeper to try and up root it.

"...I think we are not as different as they would like to pretend, we are all, young." He shook his head and met her eyes again. "Impetuous, lacking in... thought and judgement. What would this war be if it were in the hands of our parents...what is it NOW that we see children, not even young adults fighting beside -them-."

He shook his head angry...frustrated. "Who hides behind children in a fight, that was the first real proof for me that they were not just...invaders, they are an INFECTION."

Fluorite listened... but then her eyes went wide. With shock, with surprise, with... outright disgust. "Children ?"

He had to be joking. Right ? That had to be a joke. Sure, she could probably be considered a child, after all. She was only 16. But the general had separated his speech in a way that told her that he meant exactly what she thought.

She waited, silent, still daring to hope. Nope. This wasn't a joke, wasn't it ?

"God damn, that's..." Children, really. Children. That was low. That was low as hell. She hoped she would never have to fight one. Beating up on someone her own age was one thing, but beating up on a kid ? "They use children in their battles... and they call us the monsters ?"

"Justification I suppose, the cat's wake small senshi... 'Chibi' they call them, rather Otaku or whatever that term is if you ask me." He grumbled

"But yes... several very young children, 10 best... perhaps 11 for the one I saw hard to say, I have never been exceptional with ages." He admitted and frowned. "Younger than us... at the least."
PostPosted: Sat Apr 16, 2011 6:53 pm

"That's... That just isn't right !" Fluorite's eyes were rather narrow, in a look of anger that seemed rather uncharacteristic of her. Finally, she moved to stand at least, coming closer to the General's height. "I don't think... I don't want to hurt a kid." She shook her head. "Of course, that's probably exactly what they're counting on."

That was certainly a disgusting, underhanded tactic. But then, they were the same people who also tortured others within inches of their lives, so what the hell had they expected. "I really hope I never meet one..."

"I have spoken with one..." He gave a small shrug. "I have no desire to fight one either, I think that -is- the point, but neither do I desire to inflict on them the pain of... purification, that may ALSO be the point...wretched really." He scowled and folded his arms with a sigh.

"I think there is no low to which they will not stoop."
PostPosted: Fri Apr 22, 2011 7:18 pm

"Purification ?" Yes, Fluorite was clueless, for the most part. She knew that the corrupted senshi existed, and she knew, from her meeting with Alkaid, that they remembered little, if anything, of their former life as the enemy. But the actual process, however, she was completely unaware of.

"I wish there was a way to just... save them." She said, sadness creeping in her voice as she folded her hands together. "Just... get the senshi out of them so they can just be normal kids again. They shouldn't have to fight... for neither of the sides. Using children just isn't right."

But what was right or wrong in war, indeed.

"One day..." He nodded, "One day we will show them... oh...Purification, it's what the queen now wishes us to call saving Senshi to our side." He gave a small shrug. "Less negative connotations."

Honestly he wondered how long it would last...what new name might it have in a day, a week... all that mattered was the outcome...right?
