H came walking into the Poké center and he went straight to the counter, I saved this Starly from a Staravia but it is hurt, he said to the Nurse Joy behind the counter, could you please take a look at it? Of course, Nurse Joy said, I will see what I can do. Thank you, do you have a place where my Charmander and I could stay tonight? H asked. Sure Nurse Joy replied, Chansey will prepare a room for you. Thank you, H said. A few minutes later H was in a small room in the back of the Poké center, he was walking around nervously, he did not like rooms like this, the window could not be opened far enough to escape through and the only other exit was the door. I should go get some sleep, he thought, if anyone comes in there is no escape, I should get some sleep so I am well rested tomorrow.

Starly struggled, trying to get free of the Staravia's grip, it was flying towards Saffron City and Starly guessed it was being taken back to it's home on Route Eight. The leader Staravia probably wanted to give Mezame's Starly a firm talking to for leaving it's flock like that. Starly however, was unwilling but in the clutches of the leader had no choice, it was all it could do to protect its trainer. The bird Pokémon flew over the city streets and both Starly and Staravia had a bit of a shock when out of no where a flame fired through the air and collided mostly with the Staravia. There was no way Starly could have avoided the flame and also took some damage. The next thing Starly knew it had fallen into the arms of a random human. Starly flapped out it's wings in fear and frustration, trying to get free but it was hurt and unable to fly away. Starly was taken into the Pokémon centre and handed to Nurse Joy. It wasn't before long that Starly was fighting fit again and feeling extremely restless. It had to get out of there and find it's trainer.

Mezame was surprised by the state of the Pokémon centre, the last one she'd been in was spotless but Saffron City's Pokémon Centre was a state. Mezame stood in shock looking around at the mess when Chansey appeared with a dustpan and brush and started clearing up the mess. The Pokémon was closely followed by Nurse Joy with a broom. "Nurse Joy!" Mezame called running up to her. "Is it an emergency?" Nurse Joy asked. "I have my hands full here. A Pokémon that was brought in and treated didn't want to hang around much after it recovered." Mezame nodded. "I'd love to stay and help you tidy the place but I'm in a rush, I only came in to ask if anyone had seen my Starly." Nurse Joy gasped, dropping her broom and looking horrified. " That was your Starly!?" She cried in dismay. Mezame was confused. "What was my Sta-?" Mezame stopped talking and looked around the room. "Waaah!?" She yelled as realisation hit her. " My Starly did this!?" Mezame asked mirroring Nurse Joy's horrified expression. "I'm so sorry! Do you know where it went?!" Nurse Joy looked apologetic. "It was causing so much trouble from wanting to get out of the Pokémon centre I just let it go out the window just seconds before you walked in! I'm so sorry! By the way it was acting I thought it must not have a trainer!" "Oh no!" Mezame cried slumping to the floor with her head in her hands. "What if it's gone back to route seven to look for me and I'm not there?!"

H woke up when he heard a lot a lot of noise in the Pokémon center, the police came, he thought, he stepped out of his bed and grabbed Charmander´s Póke ball. Charmander, could you go to the hall and see what is going on? H asked, char charmander Charmander replied. A few minutes later Charmander returned, charmander char char he said, is the police there? H asked , char cahr Charmander said and he shook his head. Thank you, H said and he went to the hall. In the hall H saw what happened, it was a huge mess in the hall, he saw Nurse Joy and a girl talking, what happened? he asked.

With the state of the centre, Amie believe Nurse Joy. At least the two were getting closer to finding the pokemon, even if it may not be in this one place any more. She smirked slightly thinking to herself that if Mezame's Starly made a mess like this where ever it went, then it would be a lot easier to follow. After thinking to herself, Amie looked back at Mezame, once again on the floor crying. " Cut out the water works." Amie told Mezame with a slightly annoyed look on her face. " Freaking out isn't going to help find your Starly." Amie knew that Mezame was distressed, but they would get no where like this. Amie didn't really feel like heading back to route seven again, because what a waste it would be if Mezame's Starly wasn't there and then they would be back to square one. Then Amie got an idea that could save them some time. She shuffled things through her bag and pulled out a pokeball. " How about while you calm down, I send my Abra to see if he can spot your Starly on route seven." She said letting out the pokemon inside. A gold and brown pokemon rested on the ground, eyes tightly shut. " Did you catch all that?" Amie asked her Abra, but it made no responds. " Can you go to route seven and see if you can spot any Starlys or find the one that's looking for its trainer?" She added and Abra tilted his head up to look at her before disappearing with a teleport. She hoped that the pokemon would follow her instructions instead of just leaving. " Might as well just wait here." She said to Mezame as she went to sit on a small sofa in the lobby area.

Mezame frowned, she wasn't crying she was just worried. She stood up with a sigh, either way Amie was right, freaking out and doing nothing wasn't going to help any. Mezame was surprised when Amie called out an Abra. Mezame had never seen one before and she was even more surprised when the Abra disappeared in front of her eyes. "Wow, thanks." Was all she could manage to say. With Abra on the case back at route seven it would save them running all the way back there and then back again, by which point Starly could have got even further away. Mezame was thinking about heading straight off to route eight to look for Starly but a boy appeared asking what happened before she had a chance to. "Sorry." She told him nervously. "It seems my Starly didn't take kindly to being brought into the Pokémon centre when it was trying to get back to me. It was taken by a Staravia, I think that Staravia was the leader of my Starly's flock." Mezame turned to Nurse Joy. "As soon as I find my Starly I'll come back and help clean up. It is partly my fault this happened after all."

It had been a few minutes and Amie was still siting on that sofa, now taking out a soda pop to sip on in the down time. Some guy had started talking to Mezame as she filled him in on what was happening. She halfway listened to the two of them speak as she waited for her pokemon to come back. Out of nowhere, Abra reappeared right in front of Amie, causing her to spill a little bit of her drink on her. She took out a towel from her bag and while wiping it up she asked her pokemon, " So did you find the Starly on route seven?" The Abra shook its head back and forth. " No? Ok, anything else?" ' Braaa' the pokemon pointed out towards a window facing route eight. " That way? Well it was where we were headed. Thank you." She said finishing up wiping the spilt drink off and returning the pokemon back to his pokeball to rest. Amie walked over to the two and said to Mezame, " Well it looks like your hunch was right." She paused for a quick second to look at the guy talking with her before and turned back to Mezame and continued, " We can leave anytime you want to."

"Thanks for offering but I'm sure we'll have this place cleaned up in no time. It's no bother really." Nurse Joy smiled. Mezame thanked her and turned back to Amie and nodded. "Lets go." She led the way out of the Pokémon Centre and back out into the streets. It was still pretty busy but Mezame quickly made her way through the crowd and pretty soon they'd reached the entrance to the route. Mezame hoped Starly was okay, they hadn't been together long and the pokémon still frightened her at the best of times but she already had an attachment and considered Starly her friend. The crowd thinned out as they neared the route and Mezame started conversation again. "Thanks again to you and your Abra for helping me." She told her. "Have you had your Abra long?" Mezame asked curiously as they stepped into the grassy paths of route eight.

Amie left the pokemon center with Mezame, happy to be finally getting back on track. The crowd was dense, but as it thinned out, Amie took a moment to appreciate not having to go back in there for a while. The entrance route eight was getting closer and Mezame had started talking to her. " No problem." She replied, at least she was doing something. Mezame followed up with another question. " Oh, I haven't had him too long. Just yesterday I got him from the game corner as a prize. Didn't want to have to deal with wild pokemon when I didn't have any." Amie told her, remembering yesterday again. Thinking about it, Amie hadn't had much time to connect with her pokemon yet, but hoped she would soon. She then asked, " Is Starly your only pokemon so far?" Though she figured if Mezame did have any other pokemon, she would have seen them by now.

Nurse Joy told H what happened and H decided to follow starly's trainer, he knew that when a Starly that has been caught by a trainer and it escaped the Starly would try to return to his flock but the other Starly would not accept him, usually that would lead to a fight between the captured Starly and the others, if that happened he would have to help the girl's Starly or it might get wounded.

"Whew! We made it!"
Landrum finally stumbled into the Pokemon Center just as the sun's last ray of light disappeared on the horizon. He approached the counter where Nurse Joy was finishing up with closing the Center down for the night. "Excuse me, I know it's late, but I was hoping that you had room for me to stay here tonight?"
"Oh, of course! We've got plenty of spare beds," Nurse Joy chirped in her singsong voice. "Do you have any Pokemon? If they're tired, you should heal them first." Landrum handed over two PokeBalls containing Bulbasaur and his newly caught Exeggcute, "I'll have to test him out tomorrow," he thought to himself. Nurse Joy placed the two PokeBalls onto the healing machine. It whirred to life with colors and sounds. Nurse Joy removed the PokeBalls and handed them back to Landrum, "Thanks, Nurse Joy!" Nurse Joy smiled back warmly, "Not at all, now go make yourself comfortable and get a good night's rest."
Landrum found an empty room in the back. He let Bulbasaur out of his PokeBall so he could stretch out. He was wary about letting Exeggcute out; he wasn't sure how it felt about being caught. "Well," he thought, "I guess I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Come on out, Exeggcute!" The six seed-like eggs appeared from the PokeBall and jumped around, clearly happy to be released from the confines of the PokeBall. "Alright there, Exeggcute?" Exeggcute looked at Landrum blankly and them hopped to the floor. It jumped onto his bag and hopped on it so that it formed a sort of bowl for it to nestle into. "Well, I guess if you're alright.... Goodnight, Exeggcute." Exeggcute didn't answer back.
As Landrum turned around to get into bed, he realized it was already occupied. Bulbasaur had taken the liberty of absorbing as much bed space as possible. "Alright, move over, Bulbasaur," Landrum said as he pushed Bulbasaur to the side. He climbed in and shut the lamp off.

The morning's light woke Landrum up. He pushed himself up, careful not to disturb the still sleeping Bulbasaur. He looked down to see if Exeggcute was still sleeping, but Exeggcute was gone! His first caught Pokemon ran away! Landrum scurried out of bed and got dressed. Bulbasaur seemed indifferent to Landrum's panic, he turned around and went back to sleep after being woken up by Landrum's sudden Earthquake attack.
Landrum ran down the hallway to the Center's lobby. "Nurse Joy," Landrum begged, "please tell me you've seen an Exeggcute! Mine was gone when I woke up!" Nurse Joy looked startled at the panic in Landrum's voice, but it quickly vanished as she laughed. "Haha, oh my. Calm down, your Exeggcute is here. It came out a while ago looking hungry, so I gave it some food and it's been out here ever since." She gestured and Landrum's gaze followed and found Exeggcute bouncing around between the furniture. Landrum was overcome with relief. As he approached Exeggcute, the six seeds quickly stopped and watched him.
"Hey Exeggcute. You guys gave me quite a scare this morning; that wasn't very nice of you." The Exeggcute looked sorry but also a bit frightened at the same time. Were they going to be punished for running off? "I'm not mad, but I really wish you guys would just save me stress of losing my Pokemon! I'd like to keep you around for as long as I can. After all, you were my first Pokemon catch!" The Exeggcute brightened up at the news of their importance to Landrum. They smiled up at him in unison and answered likewise, "Exeggcute!"
"Great! At least now I know you don't hate me. I thought you had wanted to run away. I guess if you want that, I'll let you go back into the woods where Bulbasaur and I found you," Landrum explained, "but I promise that if you stay with me, I'll help you to become stronger!" The Exeggcute pondered the chance of their freedom for only a moment before they made their decision. They hopped up and down excitedly at Landrum, expressing that they wanted to stay with him. "Aw, that's great guys!" Landrum felt blessed to have a Pokemon choose to be with him, "You can count on me holding up my end of the promise."
Not wanting to wake up Bulbasaur before he was finished catching up on sleep, Landrum ate some breakfast provided by Nurse Joy's Chansey and then continued to play with Exeggcute in the Pokemon Center's lobby. "We'll have to hit the PokeMart and do some more exploring today before we leave, what do you think, Exeggcute?" Landrum got six happy nods.
