Intro

Once again a grand celebration has begun, this time in the hidden cloud village. The common merchants and villagers are in the same company as some of the most highly regarded Shinobi in the world, all for the sake of this special event. The voices of rich and poor together as equals for the sake of deciding the future of the Shinobi system. An entire community of people gathered for just one event.

A large area located at the connection between two large mountains from which the cloud village is located has been cleared out for the sake of the exams. This area will serve as the stage for the first stage. Constant clouds formed from jutsu have been created in order to keep this area hidden from the public leading many to believe that the appearance of the course would provide a small advantage to anyone who could manage to catch a peak at the course being built

A small hut is being constructed at the bottom of the mountain from which special cameras as well as many barrier jutsu and seals being laced all over it. This is rumored to be the first testing area where there must absolutely by no outside influences.

On the top of the mountain a stadium is being constructed with various defensive seals and jutsu being forced all around it as well as barrier to protect the stands. Surely the start of the Chuunin Exams is an event that has the world buzzing an a culture/financial boom to occur in the Lightning Country.

A massive celebration has erupted in the streets of the hidden in sound village. Merchants fill the sides of the streets, the smells of exotic foods, the sounds of music and sellers advertising their wares fill the air with near deafening volume mixed amoungst the chatter of the many foreigners streaming down the central road towards the Colosseum.

The Shinobi of the Lightning Country are on high alert for anyone at the exams that might know any information about the recent inquires about the Mist Villages legendary swords as well as the wanted fugitives from the area. Rumors trade ears at the exams about signs of weakness in the Kirigakure military resulting in high tension between the great shinobi nations. The Chuunin Exams are being considered by many as an accurate judge of strength to foreshadow the next great conflicts in the world. The young ninja participating have unknowingly inherited the hopes and expectations of the entire world. Surely the Genin are representing their nations.

You are transported to a small office hut type building to which every other participant has been instructed to gather. Inside there is a row of scrolls, one for each person. On one of these scrolls you will notice your name in large red print. Next to the scroll you should notice a sheet of paper with instructions.

Congratulations on being chosen for the opportunity to reach the rank of Chuunin. During these exams you will be tested on the key qualities that your superiors have decided are necessarily to rise in the ranks. Though these exams are competitive there is no grantee that winning will allow you to graduate. Exactly after you read this message your exam shall begin. This scroll has a seal that can only be broken by speaking your name out loud. Upon breaking the seal the scroll will open and give you information about which role you will play in this test. After you have read the information it shall erase itself beyond recognition.

For Allies
You are one of the Allies, you represent the spirit of loyalty and trust in your fellow Shinobi in order to thrive in this world. As an ally you stand behind your comrades and work together for the common good and the success of all. Your assignment is to judge the characters of those around you in order to find as many allies as you can. In order to pass this test you are to form a group with at least three members including yourself. At the end of the event, for each ally that you have in your group you will gain credit towards becoming a Chuunin. However, danger lurks. Not everything that people tell you is the truth. You are not to use any sort of jutsu nor special ability while participating in this event. You will be monitored by at least two proctors through your time in the Chuunin Exams, if you are found abusing the rules you will suffer the conciseness from having points deducted, all the way up to being out right physically punished.

For Invaders

You are one of the Invaders, you represent a Shinobi's need to be able to use any tactics necessary for victory. In some situations even the most devious of plots and decitful battle strategies are required in order to complete your mission.Your goal is simple, by the end of the event you must have successfully infiltrated a group with at least three members including yourself. Keep in mind that being found out could very easily mean not having anyone to accept you into their group. Also, for every invader in your group other than yourself you shall loose credit towards becoming a Chuunin. You are not to use any sort of jutsu nor special ability while participating in this event. You will be monitored by at least two proctors through your time in the Chuunin Exams, if you are found abusing the rules you will suffer the conciseness from having points deducted, all the way up to being out right physically punished.

Quote:
((You position will be PM'd to you by ssAntonio. Please note that under no circumstances should any jutsu be performed in order to influence the results of the test nor are you allowed to restore the words on your scroll through any means. In order to convince someone of your role you are going to have to talk them into believing you.

Note: failing this section of the exams does not mean you are disqualified, it will however effect our judgment on whether or not you become a Chuunin. Becoming a Chuunin is not just or only succeeding each section, instead it is counted on how well you did with checks, how well you rp'd, and how clever you where during fights. Thus you could technically fail all the sections and still become a Chuunin (though unlikely) if you excelled in the other aspects of judging.)) ))

Notwen was startled by the volume of the voice that boomed out over the village. A smile crept over his face as what the voice was saying finally became clear.
It seems that the exams have finally started! he thought happily as he finished his bubble tea and slid off the branch. He absorbed all of the information his clones had gleaned before releasing them all over the village. The dark-skinned blonde followed the flow of contestants over to the main gate, keeping an eye out for anyone that might look above-average. After reaching the gate to Gryu'jiong, the group of genin participants was transported to a small hut-like office structure. Inside of the structure a row of scrolls could be seen, and a closer inspection of the red writing revealed that the characters were the names of the contestants. "That's a lot of scrolls..." Notwen muttered to himself as he searched row after row for the scroll bearing his name. He had to push past several contestants but he finally found it. Next to the scroll was a piece of paper with a message. Reading the words to himself, the crippled Uchiha thought about what the objective he had been given was. Walking away from the scroll shack, he held out the scroll in front of him and said, "Notwen Uchiha!" The red characters of his name vanished from the face of the scroll and a thin line appeared on it. Taking a deep breath to clear his mind and omit any reactions, the crippled Uchiha opened the scroll and read his assignment. Seconds later the text on his scroll blurred itself to the point that it was no longer legible. With a sigh, he looked around at the others who were beginning to open their scrolls and wondered Who can i trust?

Hatsuma heard the booming voice ring out across the crowd. It was unfortunate that she wouldn't be meeting up with Oasis or Itoku again before the first portion of the exams. Following along a steady stream of genin from various countries she finally made it inside the building. Looking around she spotted very few from wind country, this was not unexpected of course since their count was generally smaller then most others at these things. Waiting in the haphazard line she eventually made it too a table riddled with numerous scrolls, all bore a name of someone, those being competitors more likely than not. Quickly scanning over the names she easily spotted her's after all her name was a rather lengthy one when spelled out in full. Picking the scroll up caused an instantaneous reaction as the seal released allowing her to open it and read the contents of it with ease. after reading over it she had the instructions of which swirled and melted along the page into an indecipherable ink blot whose only meaning would be gained in a psychiatrists office. so there were two sides to this game, a sort of secret hide and seek, the only real issue would be how to decipher one side from another. After all she only knew the rules she had been given they could be different for everyone. She would make sure the group she sought out fit her criteria for success in this portion of the exam. She took the opportunity to sit down and analyze others reactions as they read the scroll, it may not be accurate however it may give some semblance of an idea on who to partner with and who not to.

Takera walked out of the shop pulling his bag forth from his shoulder and trying to fit the case comfortably inside as well as wrapping his vials in layers of clothes and such. He left the shop entirely and began walking through the crowd looking through the stands and other merchants he spent a good amount of the time just hanging out till he could get word of info about the exams. He came across a chair sitting infront of a stand. He yawned lightly and sat down in it for a while just thinking and reflecting on some of the more recent stuff. A few minutes later a guy at the stand turned to Takera and tapped him on the shoulder. "Hey, you gonna buy something or just take up space?" Takera just turned back silently to face him. The guy then realized that Takera wasn't just a random tourist or such, but an actual ninja for the exams. "Oh, so you're a contestant, huh? Let's see how lucky you are. If you win, I'll give you 2 items I've been holding onto for free, but the odds are incredibly slim." The man cockily said trying to get Takera to buy into his scams like some ninja before him. "What are you proposing? Takera asked with little enthusiasm. He didn't really want to chat, but if it meant sitting down a bit longer, he figured no harm in playing along with the merchant. "k. Here's the details: I'm going to take this glass of water," The merchant placed the glass infront of Takera before continuing on. "And your goal is to get the water from the full glass to the empty one without touching the water or either glass with any part of your body." The merchant smirked and waited for Takera to make a move and mess up. This kid bought it. Hook, line, and sinker. He's a Lightning Ninja and the last thing any lightning ninja has ever been is profficient at the ability to manipulate an element they didn't form from their own chakra. the merchant thought. Takera looked from the glass up to him. "What's the catch?" he spoke with a slight bit more enthusiasm than the first time he spoke to the merchant. "If you lose, you give me 2,000 ryo. It's an all or nothing for both sides." The merchant kept the greedy smirk wide upon his face. Takera knew better than to play games with merchants, but he was intrigued at the prospect of what the items might be and his new abilities have been presented with a test. After looking at the two glasses and the water he pulled out some string from his bag and held a piece of it above the water. He dipped it about an inch in. The merchant was about to speak when Takera cut him off "The terms were that no part of my body could touch the glasses or water. No part of my body is touching either glass or the water. You can forfeit the deal if you're scared."

The man looked at the string and Takera and then calmed down. "You're right. Continue." The merchant's grin returned to his face. It made no sense to him that a string was going to accomplish the task. Takera continued and focusing his general ice abilities through the rope, the inside of the rope froze all the way down to the water, freezing the water completely and expanding it, causing it to narrow and fit the shape of the glass. Takera simply tugged the rope and the slippery ice pulled free of the glass. The merchant's eyes widened considerably and his mind raced. He'd just been bested by a Lightning Ninja in a game of water manipulation. Takera brought the ice hovering over the next glass and lowered it into the glass. Afterwards, he channeled just the water element through the string to change the water back semi-slowly and then he removed the string and tossed it in the trash. The merchant was horrified and the small crowd that gathered around Takera had begun cheering at the stunt Takera just pulled. Takera looked up at the merchant and then around to the people around them cheering. "I hope you don't think you're gonna weasel out of this. I want the two items promised. Takera spoke calmly. The merchant was furious, but his sales would drop badly if he were to go back on his deal with so many people watching, so he grumbled and swallowed his anger the best he could while digging out a heavy box from under the counter. He opened the lid to reveal a ring resting in a small box atop what looked like a really sturdy vest. The material was like that of the coating stuff called Kevlar and reminded him somewhat of a ninja vest, but black. Takera picked up the ring and slid it onto his middle finger, then took the vest and looked it over, undoing the straps and putting it on. It fit comfortably, but was a bit heavy. He fastened the vest straps together and sealed the vest around himself. "The ring really isn't my thing, but the vest is kinda cool. Thanks." Takera was feeling slightly better after that interesting event with the merchant and now he was in the possession of two interesting items. He moved down the street with his bag slung over his shoulder and began to look and see what was at the other stalls, but suddenly a booming noise burst forth from the speakers around the village. It was an announcement to gather at the main gate for the first phase of the exam. The exam was beginning. Takera quickly made his way through the people to the area they designated. He walked and got instructions from an instructor standing nearby before walking towards the line of people over at the hut. He looked over people and adjusted himself to see what was going on inside the hut as he got closer and closer. He noticed a boy on the other side of the table quickly open and read his scroll before moving back and looking around while a girl across the way had walked up along the table and quickly spotted and grabbed her own, reading and then also moving back, but she watched the others grab their scrolls more closely than the boy. Takera came up to the table and looked across the scrolls until he finally found his own farther down the table a few scrolls past the boy's. He moved back to an untaken corner of the hut and opened the scroll reading it's contents before the ink suddenly shifted and destroyed the evidence of what he had just read. He rolled the scroll up and wa Takera raised an eyebrow slightly confused, but curious. He turned back once more to look around at the contestants picking up their scrolls, but his eyes continued to peer over at the boy and the girl he initially noticed. So far none of the other contestants had caught his eye. He tried his best to gauge each of the people picking up scrolls, but there were a lot of people and he decided instead he'd focus his energy and effort on trying to analyze the people who stood out more.

Hatari looked towards the opposite side of the Alley way as he heard loud speakers booming in the voice of a proctor telling him and anyone else to be settled at the main gate for the exams had started. Hatari quickly rose a hand seal to his chest and canceled out all of his clones at this time. He wouldn't need them as the rules would most likely prohibit the action of jutsu use. He sighed heavily as he turned his back from the alley way and quickly made his way on top of the roofing of the buildings he was between. as he looked down once more he negated the urge to go back as he threw himself forward into the crowd and rushed towards the main gate, the rules were simple find three people in which he could trust and then make a team out of them. it had to be some kind of catch to the event. could this possibly be the first exam in its self to find those who are loyal to everyone? no matter he'd have to pick wisely.
"Hmmm this should be interesting....Who would I even team up with, obviously the people from my village...indeed"

Hatari went to the front desk and picked up a scroll just before opening it, The message was simply one word, it so happened the the test was to find the right set of allies to team up with, if you didn't you'd fail the first test. As he continued to look at the scroll the word began to blur so much that it became a unrecognizable smug of ink upon paper. He sighed once more then chuckled lightly. "I am Hatari, I am looking for reasonable candidates for my team." He stared upon the boy next to him with the blonde hair, apparently he had gotten into a fight and lost his arm at one point or another before the exams, though he didn't look too familiar to Hatari. "What type of teammate are you looking for? perhaps I could assist you."

From the corner of his eye Notwen noticed a dark-skinned girl bearing the Wind Country insignia walk up to the table and pick up her scroll opened it and began looking around with a critical eye.
She must be a puppet master! thought the crippled Uchiha as he noticed the wrapped bundle on her back. How ironic... While he thought about whether this girl could be trustworthy or not, a white-haired kid wearing a mask showed up. It intrigued Notwen to observe that the masked boy kept peering at him from time to time. What does he want? he wondered. It is then that the samurai from earlier walked out from the hut with an open scroll. The man walked until he was next to the Uchiha, then turned and introduced himself as Hatari and stated that he was looking for reasonable candidates for his team.
"What type of teammate are you looking for? perhaps I could assist you."
he said, setting off several alarms in Notwen's head.
This guy... thought the crippled Uchiha, What is he trying to gain by coming to me, of all people? he nodded his head in acknowledgement to the samurai's introduction.
"Hello Hatari, you can call me N." A puzzled look found itself on Notwen's face. "Though i do have a few questions. If you are coming to a crippled guy who you assume is a 'reasonable candidate' for your team, what is your definition of 'reasonable'? Also, why are you trying recruit up people in such an upfront manner?" The dark-skinned blonde waited patiently for the man's response.

Hatari sighed momentarily just before peering over to the crippled boy with lazy eyes. "Isn't it better to be up front and honest with people who you are going to trust and be teamed up with than to keep secrets... in any case you're the person who took that young boy from my side...I won't hold it against you; however, If I didn't do those things to him he would have never had confidence within himself to do more than what he was capable of doing, do you understand what I'm saying. You seem like an honest person who's only purpose is to pass just as I; however, we can never truly be sure of anything now can we...I guess we'll just have to put trust into the problem and make a solution out of it. and with that Hatari slid his scroll into his back pocket and smiled slightly towards the blonde haired ninja. "Hmm now if you'd like to join that leaves us with two more slots to be filled. Also seeing as we have a week to find partners I would suggest we do different types of trials to prepare ourselves for the second part of these Exams." He sighed momentarily just before his eyes changed a slight color of red, nothing too recognizable but enough to glimmer within the sun's rays. Hmmm only a few will be left out of the groups and fail immediately; however, if we all choose to pick the wrong partners we automatically fail as well...I guess I'll have to pick wisely then.

Takera couldn't help but overhear the outspoken shinobi's plea to the available shinobi to gather a team. He turned his head to face him and watched as he walked towards Notwen. He listened to the conversation brewing between them and wondered if maybe this outspoken shinobi was a bit full of himself. Trying to justify hitting a child that wasn't even his own for the sake of 'education' sounded like an excuse. Takera didn't like it at all. It just seemed too played up. He sighed and shifted his view once more to the crippled boy and then back at the kunoichi with a large object covered in wrappings on her back. He pondered as to what exactly was on her back, but he realized his concentration should be on seeing what others are thinking and figuring out whether or not he can make good use of the situation to it's fullest. He moved across the room passed the crippled boy and found himself positioned at her side. He didn't bother to look over at her or make eye contact. Instead he just spoke lightly. Not so much a whisper, but to be a little more discreit and to keep those distanced from the two from getting a good grasp on what he was saying. "Hey. How's it going? Takera spoke casually to her hoping to build into a conversation. He crossed his arms lightly and shifted his weight continuing to watch those entering the hut and choosing their scrolls.

Hibiki sighed while waiting for his Shark-head of a friend to exit the shop. The only entertainment the either of them had was the two old men throwing fruits and vegetables at each other (Whatever dropped on the ground was quickly retrieved by Kuro, more for sport than for food.) However, a shinobi with a mask on passed by the Vulpine duo that caught both of their attention. The scent was highly familiar, but he couldn't quite place where the scent was from. He ignored it as an announcement was made. It was time for his first exam.

He slowly made his way to the hut they were being led to, he didn't want to be too excited to start his first exam and didn't know what he was getting himself into. Maybe we'll be dueling each other just like Kiri used to do it. That would be...difficult. See, I could hide away until the dust settles and take out whoever is weakest. But that would only work with a free for all... What if it was some sort of tracking mission? I'd have it in the bag! He chuckled quietly to himself as he moved with the crowd.

As soon as he entered the hut with the rest of the Genin, he saw a numerous amount of people rush over to a row of scrolls sealed up with some defensive jutsu. Hibiki observed the people around him for a bit before lazily sauntering over to the row. Most candidates spoke their name out loud, read the scroll, then scanned the area. The Inuzuka thought this behavior was weird, only because more than half of the crowd was repeating this process. With a shrug, he quickly found his own scroll and spoke his name clearly.

A gleeful smile broke out upon his face as he read his scroll. "A trust exercise, how cute." He spoke sarcastically to Kuro sitting by his heels, who was already aware of what was going on. Hibiki giggled his kitsune-like laugh as he scanned the crowd. The only person that caught his eye was a boy with a mask, the one with the familiar scent from earlier. He waved him off quickly. His initial judgement of that shinobi was already going downhill. "Oh Kuro. This is not going to be easy. Ninja have and always will be taught to be deceptive...." He commented while kneeling down to pet his Canine ally.

Sorain approached the tiny hut with his head down and hands in his pockets. From the corner of his eye he spotted the first of many cameras that were scattered all around the area, "figures" he said under his breath. This was after all one of the only events in the world that sparked so much attention on a regular basis, makes perfect senses that it would be recorded and broadcasted for the world to see. Sorain smirked as he dipped his head down to enter the tiny door of the hut, these people were not judging their ability to be Chunin, the true purpose of these 'exams' was to take a sneak peak at the other villages up coming forces. To succeed in the exams now, surely meant that in the coming years your village and country would see an increase in strength due to your contribution to their forces, thus influenced trade policies around the world. The idea that the entire worlds economy and decision making process relied on the efforts of a bunch of kids who knew no better.

As Sorain proceeded through the doors of the hut he glazed around himself casually getting a head count for all the people whom where already inside. Once satisfied he made his way over to the stand which held the many different scrolls which upon further inspection seemed to have some sort of writing on them. The only problem was, a life time of blindness meant that Sorain was still illiterate. This was bad, very bad. It seemed as though the first test was entirely out of his grasp unless he found some sort of way to figure out what he was supposed to do and find a way to manipulate it to his advantage. Taking a step to the side of the room Sorain walked passed all of the scrolls, whispering his name "Rizu Uchiha" and hoping for some sort of response from the scrolls that he had been told were only to open under the call of his own name. Fortunately the name that had been sealed on the scroll was his alias and popped open on about his third try. Picking the scroll up and looking down at the strange symbols on the page that momentarily remained until fizzling into nothing. Sorain cursed under his breath, <******** around and facing the room of shinobi whom were all making their own plans, Sorain was forced to realize that he was at a horrible disadvantage. As much as he hated to admit it, he needed help, he was going to have to find someone whom he could trust enough to explain the requirements to him without deceiving him. But who? At this point he still had not recognized any faces here, for the moment it seemed like he was the only lightning shinobi that he was aware of participating in the exams. Sorain repeated himself, <********>

Kyu slipped out of the shop when the announcement rung out for the first test of the exam. Hibiki had already run off without him, so, like usual, Kyu took to the trees. Kyu jumped from tree to tree until he caught up with a group of genin entering a small office/hut building. Kyu slid down from the tree onto the path, and entered the bunch of ninja from behind. They entered the building together, with the shark genin in tow.

Upon entering, Kyu noted the table covered in scrolls. It was emptying quickly, and in moments, it was safe for Kyu to approach without fighting for room to grab his own. The scrolls had names on them in big red letters, and it only took him ten seconds or so to retrieve his own scroll. The shark boy removed himself from the diminishing group, and looked around.

People were being suspicious. Their eyes glanced left and right as they rubbished blank or smudged scrolls. Kyu looked at his own, and then at the group around him again. "Interesting..."

The mist ninja noticed a slip of paper hanging from his scroll, and read it silently to himself. He nodded a few times, rereading the little bit a few times. He then walked over to a wall, and leaned up against it. His hand gripped the edge of the scroll, and he spoke, "Kyuzaku Hoskigaki."

The scroll released and unraveled down a foot or so before Kyu grabbed it. He flipped his hands, turning the scroll around one-hundred-eighty degrees, and he began to read the fine print of the scroll. Lightly, he hummed as he read, and he casually read a few words aloud, with tuneless humming in between, "Shinobi... at least three members... not to use jutsu..."

Kyu rolled up the scroll as the words began to erase themselves, and tossed it in a nearby rubbish bin. His eyes closed, and he leaned against the wall. His ears picked up the whispers and chatting of a few starting groups. Kyu picked up a few voices going back and forth. One ninja was being a bit too forward with his group search, and another was being rather defensive. Another ninja was trying to break the ice and looking to start a conversation with another shinobi. Kyu could even pick out Hibiki's voice in the mix, speaking to his companion, Kuro.

Kyu thought hard about where he should look for acceptance. In order to gain any points, he'd have to get onto a team, and to get a maximum score, he'd have to point out invaders in the group. It was a difficult task indeed, but he'd manage.

Kyu pushed himself off the wall, and opened his eyes. "Where to go... and who to meet." The shark ninja scanned the room and caught sight of a silent and graceful kunoichi, the one that a masked boy was attempting to start a conversation from. Slyly, Kyu muttered to himself, "Bingo."

Kyu slipped through the light-density crowd in a predatory, shark-like manner, and zoomed up to the side of the dark skinned, four armed kunoichi. He roughly pushed the masked boy to the side with one hand, muttering, "Excuse me, bro," and, with a cocky grin, he suavely spoke, "Hey there, I was just wondering... Do you know karate? Seriously, that body of yours is really kickin'."
