 Tasso paced around in place, expecting his brother to appear from the foliage at any moment. When he passed by Jabari during their patrols of the canyon and asked him to meet him in this spot, and emphasized that he was to come alone.
He couldn't keep his mouth shut any longer. And after meeting with Hajaie, or whatever her name was a few nights before, he needed some answers too. The elephant in the room would be of course the addition of his new servant that he found at the boarder of the pride.
Tasso had tried his best to rationalize the situation to himself; of course his cunning brother must have a good reason for forcing an outsider who has nothing to do with this fight to serve him-.... Uck, the very idea left a bad taste in his month. He did his best to hold judgement until they could talk, and he knew his side of the story.
The large lion sat down and let out a loud huff as he impatiently waited. This better be good.

 Dammit, what was with his luck? It was horrible! Jabari was scowling as he headed to the spot his brother had mentioned, knowing he was going to get yelled at for his stupidity. How ironic was that? Here his brother--Tasso! The one that was constantly thinking with his urges, was going to lecture him on his stupidity, and worst of all, Jabari deserved it! It was a wonder that Kay wasn't there to add to the torment of this situation, Jabari thought as he saw Tasso. He would probably have committed suicide if the two brothers were both going to jump down his throat at the same time, he thought darkly. Jump off the weeping lion or something. Yeah, he could see that. Hell, it might even be pretty on the way down--

"About time." Tasso said quietly before getting up and rummaging around the nearby bushes. He was paranoid about not only Ligi listening in on their conversations, but had to worry about slaves too, apparently. With his mind at ease he turned his attention back to Jabari.
"So since our last chat, it seems like every lioness I've run into knows you." He said with a bit of jealousy in his voice, but didn't take any time getting to the heart of his concern. "And I couldn't help but notice you've finally gotten yourself a lioness. You know when I said going out into the rogue lands was a good way to get a girl, I didn't mean you should capture one." Tasso looked down at his paws, unsure of what to say next. He never thought he would be talking to one of his older brothers like this.
"Please Jabari, tell me you have a good explanation. Why did you do it?"

"She's tough, she's smart, and she's a con artist," Jabby muttered, not looking at his brother. "She wouldn't stop attacking me when I tried to run her off, so I figured I could use her. I gave her my bed, gave her my food, and tried to get to where I could trust her with this mission. Who would think a slave would be working undercover for their master? But she's creepy. She stays up at night, watching me sleep. And when I tried to let her go, she wouldn't leave, dammit!"
He groaned. "Go ahead and yell at me, you won't be saying anything more than I've already told myself."

Tasso listened, a bit intrigued with his story. For some reason, It wasn't he was expecting to hear at all. But to him, it was sounding like his slave was the one with all the control. Still, Tasso was relieved to hear he had a reason for bringing her in at the very least.
"I'm glad your treating her well, but your playing with fire here." Tasso spoke to him with as much concern as he ever had in his voice. "Lionesses are something you have to be very careful with. The very beauty, inside or out, that attracts us to them is exactly what they can use to manipulate us. You can trust me, or either of our other brothers without hesitation. But this lioness will rightfully put herself before you or this pride, and may not hesitate to out us if given the chance. You can't tame her."
"It's not that I don't trust you, but I worry about the factors around us we can't control." By this he meant mostly the Shatkona, but after his brother explanation he was becoming more worried about his slave at this point. "I'm finding it hard to even talk with anyone outside of our family anymore." Tasso unknowingly began to grind his teeth out of frustration. The meeting with Sahen's slave and her story shook him to the core and had left him paranoid something similar could happen to his family.

"I'm starting to realize that," Jabari muttered. He sat down, then dropped down, falling onto his side. "I lost my temper," he admitted quietly. It was an astonishing thought, that the most cunning of the brothers had done something stupid because he had lost his temper. "But really, if she gets out of the pride the Shatkona will blame me for being lax. That would bring even more attention to me than anything else."
He sat up. "And she was boldly trespassing, Tasso! Not even a mile away from the pride. There was no possible way a proper ligi would have let her go!" he added in a quiet growl. "You could hear and smell the pride from where she was. What was I supposed to have done?"

"Run her off! It wasn't apart of our job description to bring outsiders into this mess." Tasso groaned, looking down at the ground. Hear and smell the pride from where she was? Tasso had seen rogues far closer to the boarders than that without taking much action besides a threatening roar or two. "I don't care how close anyone gets, I'll either chase them off or kill them before bringing someone in as a slave." A bit of an exaggeration on his part, but it was a topic Tasso took very seriously nonetheless.
"But we can't change what's already been done." He whispered. "All I'm trying to say is just be extremely careful about this, and don't let your guard down for one minute around her Jabari. We need you."
