It was nearing sunset, and having spent all day with the chipper pink female, it was surprising that he wasn't all tuckered out yet. They had reached the caves and had spent half the day searching for her sister, her purple sister, which shouldn't have been too hard to find at all, considering the browns and grays of the mountains would've made the girl stick out like a sore thumb.
After checking the same cavern for the fourth time, Berfortoto peeked out from behind a large, as he called out to Nyota, keeping his voice calm, not wanting her to be worried, "She's really not in this cavern, Nyota..."

Nyota'dhamira was so happy that she had Berfortoto with her! After bumping into him earlier the day, she told him about her missing sister and he wanted to help her find Ajali'Badriya. Is was this simple kindness that drove her enthusiasm through their search, and allowed her to be energetic and happy despite her lost sister.
Nyota'dhamira had suggested the two go to the caves, because that was where their family originally came from - mountainous areas, and so Iya might have felt comfortable there, or sought out a refuge.
"Iya!" she had called out, echoes resounding throughout the cavern walls, "Iyaaaaa!"
It was nice having Berfototo around, she thought as she looked back at him. She smiled genuinely, walking up to him - he was being really dedicated to finding Iya, and this warmed Nyota'dhamira's heart.
"Oooh," she responded at his words - and it was true, because she could not sense anything living within the caves when she called into them, either.
"Iya isn't here... Oh, well... Maybe another place..." she started to say sadly, but then looked up at Berfortoto again to replace her smile, "But I'm glad you are here with me, Berfortoto!"
She giggled, running up to him to give a quick hug into his mane.
"I'm tired... Maybe we should stop for a while?"
