I think you need to see a doctor.. if the one you go to will not give you some kind of diagnosis, try another and another until someone can finally figure out what the problem is. What kind of pain do you have? If it's been this bad for a whole year and you still have no idea why, I really wonder about the doctors you've seen. Pain which prevents you from leaving the house or having people over is hospital-worthy, in my opinion.

Toph Be Fong well, ive been to all types of doctors, and in and out of hospitals. but they all say "your fine, now LEAVE" basically, or "your faking, BYE!" and thats why its hard to stay positive. and its just severe stomach pain. Is it like all the time? Or only sometimes? I had a similar thing, not as bad as yours it seems, but I was sick a lot as a kid, with extreme pain. For years and years we had no idea why, I missed a lot of school and went to a lot of doctors and nobody could figure it out. There were a lot of theories thrown around but nothing made it go away. In the end it turned out I'm lactose intolerant, go figure since milk is my favorite drink but it was making me really sick. A naturopath told me the problem was juice so I ended up drinking MORE milk sweatdrop Could you perhaps have a similar unknown food intolerance?

Toph Be Fong no they tested me for all food intolerance. but i have missed alot of school. and my pain is all the time, nonstop pain. Well I don't know what else to suggest.. I can't believe that hospitals would turn a patient with symptoms away and tell them they're fine. Just keep trying different doctors I guess and maybe research possible causes based on your specific symptoms.

Hopefully at one point or another you'll finally run into a doctor there who will actually be able to really help. I mean, you have a COMPLETELY valid reason to go to the ER over & over again... You're in tons of pain & unable to function in daily life, for ******** sake. (Plus, the good thing about the ER is that you can always get out of paying the bills. Just tell them you don't have much money or whatever, & they'll almost definitely tell you how to contact branches of the hospital or whatever that will take care of at least the majority of the bill for you; after all, the ER IS where everybody without Health Insurance always goes.) At the very least, the people in the ER should hopefully treat your symptoms when you go there. Just don't do anything like ask for painkillers, then they'll dismiss you immediantly because they'll think you're faking (doctors are ******** like that, especially since the government keeps making it harder for them to prescribe pain killers, regardless of whether people are actually in pain). Try & stick to saying something along the lines of, "I've been in tons & tons of pain for the past year, & I've seen numerous doctors about it but nobody can find out what's wrong with me. Normally I don't try & do anything about the pain; even though it's often debilitating, I generally just lie in bed in extreme agony. The pain has gotten so bad recently though that I just can't do that anymore... I have no idea what to do, which is why I'm here" ... I dunno, don't say that exactly, but something to the same effect where it makes it as hard for doctors to think you're faking as you can, & where you stress the negative way its impacting your life. I don't know what would come of repeatedly going to the ER... I'm imagining at some point something good will result from it... Either way, though, it's definitely a valid & reasonable course of action as a last resort, & it sounds like you're at the point where it's either "last resorts" or nothing at all.

HALP! I'm so, so, so sorry that you have to live that way! Really, I am... I understand chronic pain all too well. I myself was actually in a really awful car wreck about three years ago, & ever since then I've suffered from chronic head pain & almost certainly will continue to have chronic pain for the rest of my life. It sounds like your chronic pain is certainly more intense than mine, though. I'm not actually in pain every single day, only about 30%-40% of the time actually, & when I am in pain, I can usually get by pretty well because I usually take prescription pain pills for it. My boyfriend, however, has an incredibly severe & incredibly painful chronic illness, & it sounds like you're dealing with the same issues he is as a result of pain. Unfortunatey, at this point he's found that he's just unable to keep much of any social life (whenever he leaves his house, it's either to see one of his doctors or to see me, & it's always a challenge for him). He's constantly stressed, & he's constantly trying to find various ways to stay positive. Over time he's found ways to help relieve the stress & negativity he feels, & I'd of course share those with you, but I really don't know if they'd be much help to you at all because they're pretty much all either unique to his particular situation &/or unique to who he is... Every individual has to find their own ways to cope with all the negative effects on your mind & moods that chronic pain causes. A very general piece of advice for you is to identify things that make you happy, &/or have meaning to you, etc. that your pain doesn't prevent you from being able to do, & try & make those things a bigger part of your life. Like, if you're really into music, spend time finding as many new bands/singers/songs that you really enjoy, & listen to music you like a lot more often than you normally would. I mean, it's at least worth a shot, right? What you REALLY REALLY REALLY need to do, though, is find out what's going on with you that's causing this chronic pain. I know you've seen doctors & I know you've been trying to find out what's wrong... & I know that this is probably going to sound kind of weird because if the doctors you've seen can't help then it always seemed unlikely that other people might be able to... but... If you're willing to describe your symptoms & such to me in detail, I might be able to shed some light on what could be causing your chronic pain. I personally wouldn't know, but I have many resources at my disposal that I'd be willing to utilize to help you figure out what's going on with you (for example, my older brother is actually a very renowned doctor). Even though I don't know you at all, I still care about you because I can very much empathize with your situation, & I care immensely about helping people in situations like yours. I'm worried that if you don't find out what's wrong with you soon, it might end up getting progressively worse from going untreated for an increasingly extended period of time. Lastly, have you considered prescription painkillers as a short-term method of managing your pain well enough so that you can function much more normally? Since as far as simply coping with the pain itself at the level of severity that you're experiencing, painkillers are without question by far the most effective way of controlling the pain & all the other negative repercussions of the pain; they're basically the best answer to all the three questions you asked above. Are painkillers something you're against on principal, or are you open-minded to taking them but can't get a prescription, or something else?

OR DO YOU WANT ME TO LAUGH AND BE "OK"?!?!?" or i get on gaiaonline, it somewhats destracts me. and my symptoms are: severe stomach pain, fibromialgia, and head aches. First & foremost -- I understand that you're suffering & all, but if you want to ever stop suffering, you're going to have to get more serious, & stop simply doing whatever's easiest for you to do at that particular moment. If you're really suffering -- which I completely believe you are, since I have absoutely no reason whatsoever not to -- you've GOT to start taking FULL advantage of every opportunity for help that comes your way, because if you keep finding reasons to dismiss those opportunities, then you're ensuring that you won't get better. I really emphasized in my reply to you above that if you could just give me a detailed description of all your symptoms I'd be willing to really go out on a limb for you & consult experts that I know about your condition. Most people with any degree of chronic pain would consider an offer like that to be such a blessing... But despite all that it seems you choose to not bother taking the time to explain your symptoms in detail even if it would ultimately enable you to get better, because giving a reply like you did is just easier & quicker. Same deal with your doctors. You say you behave around them in a way that you know causes them to think that you're making everything up, but you still behave that way because it's fun for you at that particular point in time. ... & you wonder why your doctors haven't been able to help you? You have to HELP them help you, you have to cooperate, & give them all the info you can, & basically do ANYTHING besides knowledgeably propel their belief that you're faking everything. Also... 1) What on earth do you mean you've "tried all the painkillers that are legal for your age"? There's absolutely no such thing as age limits regarding painkillers! The fact that you didn't even know that makes me wonder if you've really bothered trying much pain killers at all. 2) You say your symptoms are severe stomach pain, headaches, & fibromyalgia... Fibromyalgia is a diagnosis, not a symptom! If your symptoms are THAT much in line with Fibromyalgia that you'd describe the condition as one of your symptoms, maybe its actually the CAUSE of your symptoms. So where the hell have your parents been at while you've been going through all of this, & what have they been doing to help you (I can't imagine they're not worried as hell about you!) I DON'T mean this in a condescending or mean way, but quite honestly, it definitely seems like you're not in a well enough state &/or not able to effectively resolve some of your own problems without things like parental guidance at this point in your life.

What kind of stomach pain are you having, if you can describe it? When did this start? Is it possible that you have something acidic, like acid reflux? Another possibility is Appendicitis. Doctor's will tell you that theres "one place" that you'd feel pain in that situation, but I had it in my side and it took a month to diagnose. Good luck~
