 Theluji spotted a lizard crawling through the underbush. She knew this lizard, he'd lead her on many adventures before, and she couldn't help but stalk the azure colored lizard. He knew Theluji followed him, no matter how quietly she stalked and Theluji knew it. She also knew that he expected to be pounced once she got close enough, but he'd never let her get close without showing her something new. And thankfully the lizard never had her wandering far from mommy's side, always keeping Theluji close enough to hear mommy's voice, just not her words.
Theluji wondered where Mr. Azure would lead her today. A mud pit? A oddly shaped tree stump perfect to climb and pretend she was on a mountain. The Queen of the Mountain. Or maybe it would be a hunting adventure. Just not bitey-bugs. She didn't like the taste of bitey-bugs, since she tried it out with Dugi. The possiblities abound before her as Theluji followed Mr. Azure's bright colored tail through the dark shadows of shrubs and tall wet grassy and twisted trees and hanging vines.
Mr. Azure started to slow when mommy's voice could barely be heard, and Theluji was straining to hear her. This was the farthest she had explored from mommy's side, and she was concerned. Theluji saw Mr. Azure flick his tail. Well, she could still hear mommy.
She pounce Mr. Azure, but the lizard Azure zipped away before Theluji landed on him, disappearing into the swamps too far away to even want to follow. Theluji landed in a small fishing puddle, where the waters had shifted before all the fish could get out. They were stuck. Prefect hunting ground. They couldn't get away. Theluji would have a present for mommy when she got back. The biggest fish she could catch!
She splashed into the small puddle of a pond dropping and drenching the area in water, including herself. Finally she caught a fish in her mouth and it stuggled once she lifted it, proud to be bringing mommy a meal. Mommy would be very happy. She straightened with the fish still dangling in her mouth and pranced proudly out of the fishing pond and through the muddy banks. Then she froze. She'd heard something coming. Hopefully it wasn't a fluffy male, but just in case, Theluji quickly buried her trophy in the dirt under a bush as well as she could and turned to where the noise was coming from.((OOC: don't mind the cert, it hasn't been changed yet redface ))

 The splashing noise had caught his attention. Ande wasn't about to admit that he had gotten bored and wandered away from his mother, looking for something (no matter how small it was) to catch his attention. But the sight of a soaked cub made him raise an eyebrow (or try, since he was still looking into doing that. Yes, he had practiced with his reflection, but only when no one was watching.) "Did you fall in?" he asked the girl as he sauntered (as well as his short little legs could manage) towards her. "Or did you jump in?"

Theluji bit her tongue. It looked like he was in pain. And like he was trying to be big and fluffy. In her experience, boys were unpredictable, and any boy that thought he was a big and fluffy male was even more so. She remained standing, just in case she had to abandon her trophy for mommy and run. After all, big fluffies were scary and if he wasnted to be like a big fluffy, he was probably scary too.
Quietly, looking around at her options, Theluji answered him. "No. I jumped around in it. There was a blue lizard." She said as if that explained everything.

He turned, looking for the lizard without thinking. He'd never seen a blue lizard--oh, wait, he was supposed to be acting cool, he thought, looking back to the female. "Where is it now?" he asked, completely ruining it. Not that he wanted to get his paws dirty chasing after a stupid lizard or anything!
He just liked the color blue. "Did you chase it off?"

Theluji gave him an awkward shrug. Boys were really weird. Of course she had chased it off, it was a lizard!
But she didn't say that. She really didn't know him to say that so she flicked her tail to the far side of the puddle and said, "Mr. Azure went into the trees and vines back to his family. He didn't want to be pounced today."

"You named your lizard. Your lizard told you he didn't want to be pounced?" he said, trying to get his mind around the strange thinking and failing. "Did he talk or something? Maybe it wasn't that he didn't want to be pounced, maybe you just weren't good enough at pouncing to do it!"
He sat down, his tail flicking in the air behind him, since he was quite certain on his conclusion and wanted to gloat.

Theluji flicked her tail in irritation. He was mean. But she wasn't going to tell him that she was a good pounce so good of a pounce that fish couldn't swim to get away fast enough. But that would reveal she had a secret trophy to show mommy. So she shrugged again. "Mr. Azure doesn't speak. He lures. He likes to lure and show secret places for new adventures. And he is Mr. Azure because he is BLUE."

"Then why isn't he named Mr. Blue?" Ande asked her. Although secretly he was rather impressed with her naming skills. "Since he's blue." Which was ridiculous because HE was partly blue and he wasn't named Mr. Blue. But he was out to pick a fight.
Why? Because he was bored and she had seen something he hadn't, and frankly, that made him jealous!

She wanted him to go away. Theluji wanted him to go away so that way she could take her catch to mommy. But he wasn't going. He was being mean. "Because he's BRIGHT, not some dull ordinary blue. And azure is a bright word." She didn't really realize that she was being mean, after all, Theluji didn't really know that he had blue in his fur. She rarely noticed things like that unless someone pointed it out to her. Or they were bright colored. Like Dugi's bright purple. She liked bright.

He scowled, wincing at the "dull ordinary blue" comment. So that's how she saw him? Well she was--she was-- "White," he said, as if it were a terrible thing. "At least he's not boring white," he said. "White just gets brown and yucky around here, don't you think," he said, attacking back, or at least believing he was attacking back.
This girl was definitely NOT friend material!

Theluji tilted her head. "No, you're right. White isn't good around here. The lizard wouldn't be white anymore if he was white." She finally sat down, thinking. In fact she didn't remember seeing very many things that were white, expect for flowers. And flowers smelled nice. But a white animal wouldn't smell nice from all the dirt it would have on it. She didn't realize that he was talking about her, so she wasn't hurt by it. She didn't see herself as white. Light light green, yes, but not white.
"In fact it's hard to be light here in the swamps." She admitted, still thinking about it. Her other friends were either bright or spotted or something, but Theluji was light. It didn't bother her as long as the big fluffy males didn't notice her.

He looked at her, wondering at that reaction. Then he asked, almost hesitantly, still quite confused, "What color, exactly, are you?" Because she was pretty soaked and muddy looking, so maybe he was wrong about her being white. Maybe that dingy color was her natural color?
His paws were sinking into the ground and he absently moved them, trying not to get any dirtier than he already was.

Theluji frowned what color was she. Couldn't he tell? She looked down at herself and her shoulders slumped. Mommy was definitely going to need that trophy. She wasn't just wet, but muddy and had bits of things on her that she didn't even want to know what they were, so Theluji ignored them. "Mommy says I'm crystal sea green. I just think I'm light. I like your pattern though." It kind of looked like some colored rain and been dumped on him and dried that way. It was pretty cool. She only had freckles.

That mollified him. At least there was something she thought was good looking, except for his dull, ordinary blue, he thought darkly. He wasn't dull OR ordinary! He was handsome! His reflection told him so! But maybe she was so busy rolling around in muddy water that she didn't know what handsome was.
"Hmm... you look like mud green, not crystal," he told her. "And twigs."

Theluji gave a small huff. "Of course, I look muddy; I was just splashing around in the fishing puddle." She bit her tongue. She was getting close to revealing her secret trophy. If he wanted to pounce the fishes like she had that was fine. Another time. She really needed to get her fish trophy back to mommy. Before it got really bad-stinky.
