Introduction Post



The night is wearing on as the moon's light is cast above you. In the distance lies a grand forest beckoning you to enter. The trees hold a dark aura and not many would dare to embark on their path, but you are no ordinary Star.

You set foot towards the wood, noticing that the ground is rising beneath you. You continue to walk and feel that the forest is more dark then you first perceived. You almost turn back once you see a strange dark mist flowing around your ankles, but something carries you on.

You walk further and further and needing rest, you place a palm upon the trunk of the nearest tree. Suddenly, images of mysterious beasts pour through your mind. Surprised, you take your hand from the bark and realize that the images stopped. A wind blows through and rattles the trees' branches, almost as if they were alive and laughing at your plight.

Now curiosity has struck you, any normal Star would have turned and ran, but again, you are not normal. You continue to hike the incline through the woods, the mist becoming thicker and now reaches to the height of a six foot man's knees. but you are now too consumed to take heed to it.

Your eyes widen when you see the darkness of the forest begin to lessen through it still hung in the air. Before you now stood a hill and upon the hill was a forest of white trees with silver and gold colored leaves. The mist had weaved itself through their trunks and was still haunting but it was also beautiful as the moon's light flickered like gems upon its surface.

Once you finish walking up the hill you hear the sound of running water. To the right you find a small brook. You follow its trail through the White Forest until it opens up into a large but calm river. Being so over taken with the dark beauty of the water you hardly notice that the wood had given way and you now stood under an open sky. [This is the place where the traditions are held.]

Ranks

Guardians: Guardians are as their name suggests. They guard and protect the members of their clan as well as the traditions their clan holds. They usually don't spring into action unless the way of their clan is under fire. Some take this to the extreme and protect all life and innocence that walks into the clan borders as long as it does no harm to their clan. Others claim to be more Guardians of the Moon itself and take the traditions and laws to complete heart. They keep the law of the clan.

Warriors: These are just as the name explains, the warriors of the clan. Less peace oriented than the guardians, though the clan would never permit needless violence. They are not above the law. They are the first to spring into action if something is amiss.

Tree Whisperer: These are the clan members who uphold nature. They take care of the plants in the lands of the Moonlight and are the reason that some say the vegetation in this land is the most beautiful. Their ways are to listen to the trees and see that no harm comes to the plants unneedlessly. Some might classify them as hippies. Some claim they can actually hear the trees/plants talk back to them.

Nannies: Nannies are rare. Most Nannies usually take up another job to keep themselves busy. The reason for this is because most of the Moonlight herd is made up of families who take care of their own, but on a rare occasion a mother or father may want help, or there may be a parentless foal that needs a guide.

Herbalist: Herbalists are those who create potions and help take care of the sick.

Diviners: Not just anyone can become a Diviner. The Diviners are those who take the traditions and reverence of the Moon the most seriously. These are the Priests and Priestesses of the Moonlight clan. They must prove themselves worthy of this title from Lady Khide herself as she is the head of the Diviners.

Gatherers: These are those who gather food (usually fruits or vegetables) or other goods for the clan. They try to do this with little to no harm to the earth.

Hunters: Yes, that's right HUNTERS. There are so many Alcors in the Moonlight Herd that hunters are needed. Half of the population eat meat afterall. There is a strict policy on no horses though.

Artisans: These are those who can make a variety of goods from things that the Gatherers bring back.

Bards: These are the storytellers and singers of the clan.

Omega: Its no secret that the Moonlight clan is mostly made up of those who fit no where else. Because of this there are those of the clan that refuse to socialize (though they are still required to uphold the traditions). These too are welcome in the clan, though they may not have as many benefits as the rest of the clan and usually have last pick of the food if there is anything left of the evening feast.

Patrons of the Family: These are the parents of children whose main objective is to take care of their family, however, they sometimes still take part in the clan when available. They must have a registered family name to be considered a Patron.

Offspring of the Family: These are the children of families who are accepted in the Moonlight clan who may not have a specific job title yet. They will always be welcomed since their family is prominent in the clan, however, they are still expected (or hoped) to help the clan when they can.
