Yofiel glared at the damn meerkat. She had a feeling it was the same one she had encountered when she was sleep and food deprived. It looked the same, and she was pretty sure it was laughing at her. She had to chuckle at herself. It had been funny before when she was trying to catch it and could not because of lack of sleep. She thought perhaps it was pay back time.
The meerkat had had a grand old time baiting her and not letting her catch it, perhaps it was time to play with the meerkat. She could certainly chase it and make it seem like she was trying to catch it only to let it go and do so again. It would let the meerkat know what it felt like to be on the receiving end of such humor. Yofiel's mood lifted up considerably and she pounced at the meerkat, catching it's tail, but letting it get away again before pouncing again.
Yofiel kept at it and after a while the meerkat seemed to realize that she was not really trying to eat it, and got into the game as well. It was a lot of fun, that really as unusual for the two creatures to have together. But the lioness had decided after the first encounter the creature had earned his life, so now, she was going to have a game of it. If he enjoyed the game as well, all the better, because it would last longer that way! The lioness was not aware that she was being watched, though.

_______________ Re-Capillago_________________RC watched from the security of shade, trees surrounding and shrubbery in the oasis he liked to call home. A leopard ocssionaly nested above him, but it was of little consequence and he knew he could easily stomp out such a threat if it existed. For the moment, he was alone... sort of. He watched a lioness, a meerkat...an what seemedto be a game? Did she let the creature know she did not intend to eat it? A log lie not too far from their playing area...and he began to stalk toward it. If nothing else, she was not hungry, he could use a snack. His patroling, looking for a tree to better shade himself had lead him here... this small place in the far reaches of the rogue lands. He knew no one else was near... no one could bother him. One female was hardly a threat either way. He stalked closer... almost upon the log now.

Yofiel sat back on her hunches as the meerkat finally dove into it's tunnel again. Her little 'friend' must have decided he was tired. Oh well, a shame. It popped its head up and appeared to be looking behind her. The lioness blinked at that. Had something scared the meerkat? She hoped it was not something she should worry about as well. She turned herself slowly to face behind her.
Yofiel had not been expecting to see anyone around here after her friend Athena had moved on last night. Then again, he had been a bit away from this oasis last night too. Yofiel sat back on her haunches and watched the male. "Good afternoon, handsome! What brings you into my beautiful company today?" She gave him a winning grin.
The lioness had her tail wrapped around her paws and a smile on her face because she did not figure she would run into any problems. If she did, well she could fight, but she would rather not. This was the best way to try to deal with such things. Kill them with kindness first, then if they proved a threat, kick them around after they had underestimated you. "It is a beautiful day." She just wondered how much of the embarrassing game with the meerkat he had seen.

Re-Capillago could not help but grin as she spoke....She looked unflustered and rather graceful for having been romping through the dirt.
"Oh, just watching you...and your little friend."
RC let himself relax as well, no longer in stalking mode, but not entirely relaxed. Keeping his eye on her, he simply walked, sauntering really, into her midst before he could speak again.
"I see that..." Rc looked at the hole the small animal darted into and wanted to dig it out and eat it. His mane fell over his face, obscuring the eyes and most of his kinder features. The smile seemed menacing without the eyes visible, but he was merely keeping out the sun. He did not posture or roar threat at all and stopped when he reached the closest shady area to her, a large rock and group of shrubs.

Yofiel returned the grin brightly. It looked like she had nothing to fear on the getting attacked part of things. That was always a nice realization with new company. Well, more like with any company, but new company was usually where one had to question such a thing in the first place. "Not actually my friend... it and I had a round last night at one of its other tunnel openings and I figured a pay back for being messed with was in order..."
She probably should have worded that differently, but hopefully the male would not get too curious about it. Maybe he was more interested in actually eating the meerkat and would not notice her comment about pay back. She could always hope. And when hope did not pan out, she could always try to distract him. She looked over her shoulder when the male addressed the meerkat. "I doubt he is going to come back out while you are around. He has figured out I am not about to eat him today."
"You on the other hand, I do not think he trusts." Yofiel grinned at the male. "Not that I can blame him... such a big tough lion looming over every thing his little eyes can see. I think I would be scared in his place too." She stood up and walked over to the male looking up under his mane to see his eyes. She liked being able to get a good look in the eyes of someone just so she knew for sure if she could trust them. "Would you like to be the one I play with instead of the meerkat?"

RC lifted his mane and looked at her with eyes of a depth astounding for someone so young.
"I understand---" he nodded, wanting to attack the thing, btu figured making a fool of himself in front of strangers was a bit odd and decided against it, knocking some dirt into the thing's hole. If it was nearby listening it would be scattered away and probably not come back in the comign days... He did not adress her revenge comment, but he did wonder why she did not eat him. Most were busy huntign at this time... Rc's head turned to her, not wanting to leave her out of sight for too long.
Would you like to...play with me? he shrugged, shuffling over to her side.
"You have time to play? You must be a good hunter." he smiled, sitting down, relaxed int he shade.

Yofiel chuckled at the rather kill joy question. "Well, usually I am, yes... but this morning a friend insisted on hunting for me... left me with a bit more energy than if I had to hunt for myself. Have you eaten yet? I certainly could hunt for you, handsome." She loved taking care of others, so it would be nice if he said yes. Even hunting with him would be nice if it got him food when he was hungry. She rubbed against the male and flicked his nose with her tail tip.
"Or we could play if you are not hungry and have the energy." Of course, the way she meant playing might or might not be the way he thought it. She sat again, right beside him this time and about half leaned on him for a moment, purring softly in his ear. She liked this male. He avoided the questions she really did not want to answer, and seemed rather friendly besides.
The fact that he was good looking and not very threatening helped too, along with those handsome eyes. She wondered how much he had been through to get eyes so deep. Yofiel thought it might be worth sticking around to find out too. "So what do you say, handsome? Want a good strong woman to hunt, or at least help you hunt today? Or are you going to take my offer to play."

His silence extended a little too long and just before he was sure she was going to speak. "I could help hunt," he gestured to the pasture nearby. RC was not entirely sure how he would fare; he had a large breakfast and his stomach was still a little bloated, making him look larger than he really was.
He did not regard her other comments, wanting to leave the missed opportunity for another meal alone. Obviously her confidence with hunting skills was enough to keep him interested and he wished to see if she had any skills he could pick up on or catch to use. RC stretched in the shady spot, his eyes scannignt he horizon for possible food...
"You wat to lead or should I?"

Yofiel watched the other lion waiting for his reply. She was eager to know if he wanted her to hunt for him. She was not really expecting him to offer to hunt with her, but she knew some others got touchy about another hunting for them. Of course if he was not hungry, it would not matter as there would be no reason to hunt in the first place. The longer he was silent the longer it would take for her to know what she was going to be doing.
Yofiel could have walked away. She really could have. She did not have to stay. She did not owe the male anything. Yet, she was enjoying his company and he made her curious. She was used to flirty or charming males, this one was neither of those things. It peeked her interest and made her want to know more about him. What kind of male so clearly ignored being flirted with? Was he chaste? She had heard of such things, but well, they usually applied to females.
When he finally spoke, she grinned at him. "I think I saw some hares back where I came from, but if you know where there is something bigger, you are welcome to lead!" She stood up and stretched, shaking to rid herself of any dust she had gotten on her playing with the meerkat. "Unless you would like to go digging in the hole after the meerkat?" She was teasing him now. She had seen how he eyed up the meerkat. It had been quite amusing, barring the fact that she had only gotten to see that because he had seen her playing with it.
That was so very embarrassing really. She licked his cheek and nuzzled his neck before leaving his side and listening for his answer to her question of if he knew where there was something better. She also wanted his reaction to her teasing about the meerkat in the hole. He was just so interesting, kind and... well, his good looks did not hurt at all. Come to think of it, his colors might not bee so bad to mix with hers for breeding. Not that she had any luck so far getting cubs out of any of the males she had been with, but she still tried to avoid males that the cubs would likely turn out as eyesores.
