Today was a beautiful day to be out. While she loved her family dearly and adored her two sons with all her heart Synestra still felt the pull of wanderlust and that was something she just couldn't ignore. Her own father and adopted sister were wonderful to help watch the boys while she went out now and then, but her adventures did not last that long now, a few hours instead of a few days. She could only hope that her one son behaved, Syrrin was a bit of a trouble maker at time and he would not doubt try to get away with something during her absence.
While she did dearly miss her sons while she was away Synestra knew that these times were good for all of them. Constantly being watched over by their mother would only make the foals more rebellious, and it was good for them to interact with and be watched by several other members of the herd. Stopping at a small lake to take a drink Synestra wondered just what today would have in store for her. With the warm sun keeping any morning chill at bay this was a perfect time to be out. With her thist slacked Synestra lifted her head and looked about the land. The meadow was full of spring grass, flowers bloomed everywhere, birds sang their springtime songs from trees while some flew over head. Letting out a content sigh Synestra began to walk around the edge of the small lake looking for anything of interest that she might bring back to show her sons.

Uhra's soft hoof fall moved quietly along the small woods. She smiled, loving the smell of the spring air. Her ears swiveled toward the sound of some birds, before watching them fly off quietly. She let out a small laugh of happiness, before moving quietly forward and out of the brush, toward the meadows she almost always went to for her morning meals. Her eyes flickered lightly around some, before locking on something gray in the distance. She blinked curiously, before slowly walking toward the creature.
It ended up being another female Usdia. She was pretty, though she had to admit that she also almost seemed sort of... gloomy. But that could have been from her markings. Uhra tried not to judge a book by their cover, and this female looked happy, so she put that thought out of her head, ears flickering lightly. "Excuse me... I don't mean to but in, Miss, but I just have to say that you are a very lovely Usdia! I've never met another female before..." She said, eyes gentle.

Seeing another mare approaching Synestra brought her hooves to a stop and smiled warmly at the other. "Why thank you." Her eyes swept over the mares white hide and landed upon that marking on her back for a moment. "You are very lovely looking as well." The blue of the mares mane and tail, as well as the marking, complimented her white hide quite well. "You have the most interesting marking on you there." Pointing with her muzzle towards the mares mark. "I don't think I have ever seen anything like it before." Pulling her eyes away from the mark she met the mares eyes, which were an almost golden brown.
"I am Synestra, though some simple call me Syn. What's your name?" Oh it was so good to converse with new faces. Synestra had been growing tired of the same old faces from her herd each day and she really needed to make friends outside that small circle of usida. Perhaps this mare could become her friend. She wondered if the mare was an adventurer like herself or a stay in one place type. Either way Synestra was open to having a nice conversation at the very minimum. "Do you live around here or are you passing through?" She asked curiously.

Uhra smiled toward the other mare, her eyes light as she watched the woman shift from walking, to a complete stop, to a very warm smile. It was like the sun had just rose and was gracing Uhra with it's presence! It was so lovely, and so well. She smiled gently, eyes light, watching her quietly, her ears flickering gently atop her head. "Oh! Thank you so much. My father had markings like this all over his body." She said, eyes soft, watching her for a few moments before wiggling her nose some.
She shifted her weight from one side to the other, before looking toward her quietly. The name was pretty! Uhra smiled, golden eyes bright from the knowledge. "What a lovely name! Mine is Uhra... Oh, I wonder most of the time, but this is where I come usually for my meals. The grass here is just so good!" She said, eyes closing as she let out a soft laugh, that sounded somewhat like a whinny. Her tail swished a bit, before she shifted her hooves again, watching Synestra once more. "And yourself? Why are you wondering about here?"

She cast one last admiring glance at the marking before giving a small nod. Now she wanted to see this mares father just to see and entire body covered in such markings. Another day, she told herself and focused on the now. "Well it is very nice to meet you Uhra." Ah so another wanderer, they would have much to talk about then, different places each had visited, perhaps stories about funny or dangerous encounters. While Syn enjoyed talking to those within the herd they rarely traveled and so had little of great interest to talk about.
Letting a smile cross her lips once more Synestra glanced around the area. "Oh I live not far from here, though I often wander wherever my hooves take me. Usually I'm gone for days on end before returning." Sweeping her gaze back to Uhra she continued. "Lately I have had the need to stay closer to home, to take care of my two sons. They are with their grandfather and aunt at the moment so it gave me a chance to stretch my legs and have some alone time." She adored her sons greatly but even mothers needed a break every now and then. Soon enough she would head back and see to them.

Uhra's ears flickered some, watching Synestra quietly, smiling. She liked this female. She seemed very sweet. And fun to be around thus far. She tossed her head some, hair falling about her body, before she pawed lightly at the ground, and stared toward her for several seconds more. Her ears swiveled a bit, pointing toward the other mare, before she nodded her agreement to the statement. It definitely was a pleasure! And she thought so very much.
Shifting her stance, Uhra let her eyes flicker up toward the female, before down in light thought, before she smiled, and looked back up. She shifted, pawing the ground again, before letting out a little trill of a laugh, before her eyes brightened, and she smiled big. "Babies? Sons? Oh how adorable~ I don't have a family myself... but I'm sure they are lovely children~!" She said, her tail wiggling some before she tilted her head, eyes light.

Tossing her head in a light laugh Synestra had to agree that yes her sons were adorable. "Adorable yes, but they can be quite the handful. Well one of them is. Syrrin is quite the little trouble maker, I swear he is more outgoing and adventurous than I was at that age. Oloneric is the complete opposite of his brother, quiet and well-behaved, it's a wonder they are related some days." She had also noticed Syrrin's affinity for dragging his quieter brother along on all kinds of adventures that Oloneric would normally avoid.
A smile was plastered upon her maw as she spoke of her children. Really for all the stress they sometimes caused her Synestra loved her children deeply and honestly could not imagine life without them. Oh yes they would grow up and perhaps leave the herd but for now she kept them close and enjoyed every moment of it. Looking at Uhra with a smile she said. "Families have a way of sneaking up on you. I had never imagined I would have a family and then after a single night with a stallion I found myself set down a new path."

Uhra listened quietly, her eyes sparkling from the information. She'd heard about all these families, seen the little foals roaming around. And she continued to dream of a family of her own. For months now she had been wanting to settle down with a stallion that could take care of her and her babies, if she ever had any. But lately she was starting to lose that hope. She so wanted to just have children of her own. Children she could worry over, and love. But for now, she had to wait, until the right stallion came to her, and until she was granted with the babes.
She nodded her head toward the female, her eyes closing. Uhra flicked her ears a bit, her body muscles rippling some, before she lifted a hoof just to set it down again, get a better feel. "I see... I can't imagine in. I don't have a family yet, but I oh so want one.. Do you regret it at all? That may seem very harsh... but I've heard of some mothers having regretted having children at all." She said. She didn't mean to doubt the other mare, she fully believed of the love for her children. She was just curious.

A gentle smile crossed Synestra's lips. "I'm sure you will have a family some day. Fate has a way of making some wait, but when the time comes you will be a great mother." Being gifted children was probably one of the best things to happen to most mares. Yes, there were some out there that should never produce offspring nor raise them but sadly not everyone could be mother material. Synestra nodded slowly as Uhra asked her question.
"I don't regret it. Though I will admit there were times at the beginning when I did question my decisions, but looking upon their little faces I could never regret bringing sometimes that sweet into the world." It took a bit of time for her to get used to staying at home, to tend to them, but now that they were getting older she had a bit more freedom. "Some are just more adept at being a mother than others. I never saw myself the type until I had my boys, but I think that I learned how to be a good mother. Though granted I had plenty of help." Synestra was grateful that she had her father and the herd to help and show her how to do things and when she thought about it now motherhood was probably by far one of the best adventures she had ever experienced to this day.

Uhra listened quietly, her ears flicking. She loved the conversation going. Children were her dream. She was going to age again soon, and honestly, that would be the best birthday present for her. She smiled at the thought, her eyes flickering some, before she dismissed the thought, and looked back over toward Synestra, listening quietly to her talk of the children she was gifted with. her eyes softened, listening, before she nodded her head.
"I do not doubt it... I bet they are precious boys. I have only just recently found the stallion I wish to spend my life with... But I know I would love to have little children of my own to watch after." Uhra smiled at the thought, eyes softening, her long tail flicking, causing the hairs to shift and drag slightly on the ground.

Giving her head a shack Synestra couldn't help but agree, yes her sons were quite precious. "Even little devils can be precious at times." She said with a slight laugh. For all the headaches Syrrin occasionally cause her he was precious and adorable in his own way. Besides what mother couldn't call their own children adorable? Well one that clearly didn't appreciate the gifts that they were. Her sons were her life right now and one day she would have more children to love, or so she hoped.
When Uhra mentioned finding a a stallion to spend her life with Synestra's smile grew. "Well that's great." Her tail swished happily. "Finding a stallion is the first step to getting the family you have wanted. I'm sure you two will make great parents when the time does come." She could see by the way Uhra's face changed when talking about foals how much the mare truly wanted a family of her own and Synestra hoped that one day Uhra's hopes would come true.

Uhra's eyes flickered, focusing back and basically come back to the real world. She smiled gently, her white body shifting stance again to gain a better position, not wanting her muscles to lock up. With a soft noise, she shook out her mane, then focused once more on the other mare. With a smile, she nodded her head in agreement. She was so looking forward to the family she would have in the future. Maybe a little boy, full of spunk, or a little girl who would be loving toward every creature she met!
"Little devils? They can't be so bad! Unless they decided to do something like play with skinwalkers! But that seems foolish to me." She mused, her head tilting to the side in thought. One of her legs lifted, pawing at the earth for a second, before just dropping onto the ground, her eyes flickering some to the other mare.

Letting out a hearty laugh Synestra shook her head. "Little devils. Well perhaps that wasn't the right way to put it." Of course she could only hope that her sons weren't so foolish to go attempt to do anything with Skinwalkers. Oloneric certainly would never do so, however the same could not be said about Syrrin. Now she would need to make extra sure that he didn't go and do just that. Giving her head another shake she tried to rid herself of such a thought Syn focused on the present. "Well lets hope they are smarter than that."
Tail flicked about in thought. "So what are your plans now?" She asked curiously but not wanting to invade too much of Uhra's privacy. Syn was simply trying to hold some friendly chatter with her new friend.

Uhra let her body shift quietly from one foot to another, before she watched Synestra quietly. She tilted her head, listening quietly, before her own mind started to think. She thought for several seconds, before nodding her head in agreement. Any foal should be smart enough not to mess with a skin walker. It only seemed like a natural thing, right?
Blinking at the question, Uhra pursed her lips, thinking for a few minutes, before shrugging her small shoulders. "I don't know... I'll probably head back to Adom soon. Go curl up and sleep before we travel tomorrow to head toward his herd." She said, nodding her head at the thought.

Nodding her head Synestra thought that sounded like a good enough plan. As much as she wished to stay and talk with Uhra a small glance towards the sky told her how long she had been away from home herself and it really was time to start heading back. "Well, I hate to cut htis short but I really should be heading back to my family now. Don't need them worrying about me." She smiled, because they all knew she was the adventuresome type and did get into trouble every now and then. "It was really nice meeting you Uhra. If you are in the area again be sure to look for me."
She cast a look in the direction of her home and then back to Uhra. "Have a safe trip." Then dipping her head in a polite goodbye Synestra turned and began to walk away, heading back to her home and her lovely foals - who hopefully behaved during her absence.
