Born to the alpha pair of a small pack, Ralastor was the second son of a litter of four. Born bigger than the rest, he quickly learned to use his strength to his advantage to get what he wanted. Despite his clear superiority to his elder brother, however, his parents were traditionalists and declared the oldest would be the next in line to be alpha male.

At a very young age, Ralastor decided he would settle for nothing less than the highest position within the pack. The only requirement was that he be the oldest living son. One day when he and his siblings were left alone while his parents hunted, Ralastor tricked his older brother, Jurano, into walking with him near a cliff's edge. Unaware that the pack's omega was watching, he pushed Jurano off the edge to his death. When his parents returned from the hunt, he tearfully claimed it had been an accident - that his brother had slipped and fallen while they were exploring. The omega, however, who had always been suspicious of Ralastor's dark nature, came forward and told the alpha pair the true story.

His parents argued over his fate for three days, until finally his father conceded to his mother's demands - that Ralastor be killed to avenge the loss of the eldest son, and to keep the rest of the little safe. "He is a monster," his mother declared, "And I will not be responsible for what he could become as an adult." So his father took him on a journey to the place where his grandfather had died, killed defending the ancestral territory from invading wolves. He sat with Ralastor, endless tears rolling down his face, and told him the story of the wolf he'd been named after, of nobility and honour, of the joys of raising a family - and of the need to protect it.

"Your mother expects me to kill you here," he said at last, and was both relieved and ashamed to see fear in his son's face. "But I can't. You are my son, and I love you. You did a terrible thing, Ralastor. You can't stay with us anymore." He suddenly turned upon the young pup with his teeth, mauling and tearing his face, ripping his ear nearly to shreds. This done, he turned to leave. With his back to the second child he would lose in so short a time, he explained that Ralastor needed to remember forever that what he'd done was wrong - and that his ruined ear was a mark of that scar upon his honour. Of course, though Ralastor could not know this, his father also needed to come home smelling of the pup's blood in order to convince the alpha female that the job was done. "If we ever see you again, we will have to kill you," were his father's last words to him before he disappeared.

Abandoned far from familiar landmarks and banished from home, Ralastor set out with one thing in his mind - that one day he would return home with a pack behind him, and finish the job that the mysterious invaders had started with the murder of his grandfather.Wandering the wilds as a lone pup, it was only his sheer tenacity that kept Ralastor alive. Sometimes scrounging the kills of other predators, sometimes hunting small game like rodents and lizards, he managed to grow to adolescence in relative isolation, shying away from the company of other wolves and reacting with disdain whenever he did encounter them. All the while, he quietly broiled with ambition and dreams of conquest.

He knew he wanted a pack of well-trained, obedient warrior wolves. He also knew (reinforced by a few painful encounters) that strong wolves were not particularly interested in swearing obedience to a lone male adolescent. Eventually he concluded the best way to get the wolves he wanted would be to create his own: pups who would grow up loyal to him, who he could train from birth to be ruthless and fearless. As soon as he caught wind of a female in heat, he began to stalk her, waiting for the perfect moment. After days of following her, the female – an adolescent named Layla – struck out in a hunt and was wounded. Ralastor seized the opportunity and approached her, feigning concern. He stayed with her only long enough to earn enough of her trust to get what he wanted, and then left the pregnant Layla to fend for herself. While he waited for his progeny to enter the world, he wandered, picking fights and scoping out territory and allies. When at last he hunted down the mother of his first litter, he had gained his first follower and claimed a small area of forested land. Waiting until Layla was out of the den, Ralastor tricked the three pups he had sired into following him. Two sons, Brutus and Nox, and a daughter, Tasso, were the reward for his careful plotting. As soon as they were carefully hidden away, safe from any rescue attempts, he began training.

The ranks of the Warugaruga have begun to steadily swell, and the addition of three male warriors, Arcadius, Coal and Kumonryu, has rounded out their fighting force. The territory claimed by Ralastor has begun creeping outward bit by bit, and the shared borders with the IsraKaiya pack cause no small amount of tension. Although the IsraKaiya are much bigger than the Warugaruga, Ralastor remains confident that his pack's devotion to a warrior's lifestyle gives them enough of an advantage to stand their ground against them.

Ralastor's eventual goal is to run a pack of fighting machines so powerful that they can command food and obedience of entire other packs, spending their time fighting for more territory while the lesser packs do the hunting. Another goal is to find a worthier mate with which to create the ultimate in offspring, from which he hopes to raise an heir. His disappointment in the first batch of pups he blames on the weakness of the mother, and so he has set his eyes on Ember, a lone female who once defeated him in single combat and proved her worth. Having gained a few more members, he plans to turn his attention to some of the smaller other packs, and make his first attempt to turn another pack off their land with brute force.

Although IsraKaiya is still a dangerous enemy, Ralastor is planning for the day that he has the strength and the numbers to take them down and claim their territory. To this end, he will take any advantage over them he can get, and will seize upon opportunities to sabotage them.

The Warugaruga is a fairly roleplay intensive pack. Being highly plot driven, if you're looking for a pack that will give your wolf lots of intense storylines, dangerous enemies and awesome battle scars, the Warugaruga may be the right place for you! Like the header says, the driving ideals behind this pack are strength, ruthlessness, and ambition. If your wolf has at least one of those character traits, they'll fit right in!

For those interested, just fill out a form, and we'll do a scene between your wolf and a Warugaruga wolf to see if they gel. If you have a really cool plot in mind that will involve a slower process for joining the pack, I am absolutely 100% interested in it. Some wolves might naturally need a longer transition due to the way their personalities interact with the members of the pack - for example, one "meeting" scene, followed by a later "appealing to join" scene.

Personality:Coal..sends other wolves running, he is manipulative, dark and cruel. Yet he can act like your best friend before turning around and, ripping your throat out. Though joining a pack might help quell some of his more nasty tendencies, he will always stay strong and ready to kill if asked by those higher up than him. Basically Coal has no qualms attacking others..whether it be a pup who crosses him or a trespasser on his territory he will fight till his last breath.
Reasons for joining:He needs some kind of wolf to control him. Not rein him in but, someone stronger who can put some kind of purpose in his life.
Ambitions / Motivations:Motivation can be directed. Though he wants to be part of a strong pack that can take over others territory. He wants to be apart of something great. Ambition would be to become stronger and, find a place/purpose for his life.
Strengths: Fighting, Hunting, Killing uh.. stuff like that
Weaknesses:Patience, Silence, Pups (He really can't keep his cool around them especially if they are hyper)

Cool ideas you had for plots: UH well....He has a son I kind of wanted to do something like that where maybe he takes him from Divine Cure and brings him into the pack too. Since she's so young she would probably not want to but, would give in because she doesn't want him to hurt her.
Maybe he could have a run in with another pack member and, hurt them or fight them and, that could cause issues with said pack? It's something he would do since he really is a bit of a hot head when pushed.
I could see him plotting to take pups from weaker packs and handing them off to be raised in this one along with his son so they will have an impressionable little army -shot-

Awesome!! Coal sounds perfect for the Warugaruga, and exactly what Ralastor is looking for in a follower. Here's what I'm thinking in terms of how he winds up in the pack and taking his son with him:

Maybe he runs across Ralastor training his kids (however many of them, depending on which of the players feel like joining in!) and picks a fight, so Ralastor sets one of the kids on Coal - as adolescents, by this point, I think - and both Ralastor and Coal are impressed by one another's strength. So Ralastor invites him to join, and Coal asks about the kids, so Ralastor explains how he stole them from Layla and Coal mentions his pup. At that point he could suggest taking his son from Divine Cure, and Ralastor would decide not only would it be good for boosting numbers, it would be a great way for Coal to prove his loyalty.

I think it's safe to say IK and the Waru are aware of one another! I think Ralastor would see them as a pretty big challenge to "test" every now and then, and eventually work up to. So he wouldn't be above trespassing on their lands, just to push their buttons and see how tough they are. And yes, he remembers Istas - and not fondly!

As for familiars, I think Ralastor would be more likely to accept a predator familiar than a deer (just because they're both weaklings and dinner and nothing else, in his mind) - but as long as something can prove it's both strong and willing to submit to him, Ralastor will pretty much take anyone at this point. He'll be able to afford to be pickier once he's got better numbers.

Any time you wanted to set up inter-pack drama, I'd be so completely up for it! 8D
