Super Sailor Chaonis was staring out into space. He was supposed to be on patrol, but he often let himself get distracted. Or, rather, actively sought anything to drag his attention away from the menial, repetitive labor that was patrolling for baddies and not finding any. It was all fun and excitement when there was trouble.
But on quiet nights like this?
Chaonis felt like he was wasting his time. Time he could be spending asleep, or playing a video game. Time he could be out shooting things with his paint ball gun, or playing piano. Not practicing, because he didn't do that. But playing because he wanted to.
He stared at the stars, seeing nothing but dots. No shapes. No life. Nothing meaningful.
And yet he had proof, his own existence for one, that space was much more than a gaping black sheet with sparkling diamonds trapped in its inky glue. Did he care about that? Did he care about the past, about planets and stars far away? That one of them carried his name? He wasn't sure yet. He doubted he would ever be sure.
There were a lot of things he didn't understand. He had not yet gone to visit his 'planet', or whatever it was. He hadn't looked it up online, hadn't utilized the wondrous resource of his father's place of work to his advantage. He was mostly allergic to book work. He wasn't a senshi to do homework. He was a senshi to save lives, and beat up the bad guys.
His stomach grumbled and he sighed, sitting up. He needed to do some good so he could get home and make some terrible microwave meals and then go to sleep.

God, patrolling was getting boring. Petalite found herself running into civilians more than senshi lately, and civilians didn't put up much of a fight. She wanted to hit something. Her coccyx was healed and she was ready to get back into the never ending battle. Lucky enough for her she caught the power signature of a senshi, and changed her patrol, heading straight towards it, jumping rooftops till she was on his. Coming up on Chaonis she crossed her arms over her chest, arching a brow. "Sitting around? You senshi are lazier than I thought, at least the Negaverse gets s**t done even if we're so evil." Her tone was sarcastic on the last words, the Negaverse weren't evil. They just did what they had to do for the greater good.
Chaonis' spider sense tingled and he looked over at the source lazily. Well, inside he was sparking and keen to fight, but he was acting nonchalant about it in the moment. He grinned at her. Clenching his fists, he sat up and tilted his head. “Lazy? I was waiting for you to show up. You’re late to your own party.” He didn’t know her, and certainly had no idea that she would be coming around, but hey, she was a Nega and she was there. So he was waiting for her, and wasn’t lying. He bounced to his feet, rolling his shoulders and his neck, stretching languidly as he watched her keenly.
Petalite laughed at that, rolling her eyes. "I would've been here on time, but I guess my invitation got lost in the mail. Oh well, ripping your star seed out now or five minutes ago doesn't much make a difference to me."
Lifting a hand a yellow disc appeared in it, not exactly a lethal weapon but she did good enough with it. And her fists. Flicking orange locks over her shoulder she moved closer to him, keeping her eyes trained on him. She was ready to defend if he attacked, but it seemed like he was just getting loosened up before the festivities.
Usually this would be when she jumped right into the fight, ready to give the senshi hell, but she couldn't help but hesitate. His power signature was stronger than the other skirted avengers she had ran into. Could he do some real damage to her? After a moment she decided it didn't matter and she grinned, looking a little psychotic. "It's party time, baby." With that she flung the disc towards his face, rushing in after it, hoping to use it as a distraction so she could hit him.
“If you think you can get through my armor, or anywhere close to it, by all means.” He patted his chest hard, grinning broadly at the Nega. He didn’t sense her power to be greater than his own, which was good. Of course, that was probably because he was of the mind that no one was stronger than him, and his sensing things was a bit skewed by his impossible ego. When she summoned her weapon he started laughing. He loved their weapons sometimes: what was the point of having a toy? “What is this, college? You want to play some ultimate Frisbee?” The physical brawler loved it when he was charged. He loved it when he could fight hand to hand. Negas, save those with long weapons, were good for that. They ran right in and took fists to the face or gut or where ever he wished to bestow the favor of his attacks. He didn’t use his magic just yet, wanting to see how strong she was physically against him before he gave himself an edge. He didn’t love Frisbees flying at his face. His arm moved up to block it, and gave her enough time to get close. He hurried to try and swing with his other hand, less dominate than the one he had blocked with, but it was better than not fighting back at all.
Petalite rolled her eyes at the senshi's bravado. With the Negaverse's power her hand could reach through anybodies chest, armored or not. She didn't bother telling him this. Better to let him be overconfident, he was more likely to screw up that way.
Her reaction to his reaction to her weapon was much the same, only with the addition of a sigh. Yeah, she got it. Her weapon was downright hilarious. It was time like this she wished she had the kind of weapon her cousin had gotten as a Lieutenant. A giant squeaky hammer was still a joke, but at least it could bring some pain. A Frisbee? Not so much. She ignored the jab at her weapon, she would retaliate with her fists.
Secretly she was surprised that her Frisbee to the face trick worked, it was the first time she had tried it. This close to him she took the opportunity to haul her fist back and attempt to hit him in the stomach. Whatever plating that was on his torso looked like it would hurt, but she was a Nega she could take it.
And then she was being slugged in the face. Her head snapped to the side, but she just laughed through the pain. "Is that it? My little sister hits harder than you!" Trying to keep him off balance she continued her attack, throwing another punch, this one in the direction of his face.
Chaonis would have to size her up properly once he had a moment to punch her harder. Which would get her away from him. And give him a moment to size her up, of course. “Nope,” he answered her question, taking his turn to charge now. He grinned at her broadly, liking her, and this fight, already. He pulled his fist back, the other clenched and ready, this time striking with his lead hand. The tactic was to let her hit him, holding his ground and swinging immediately while she expected him to recoil. He lashed out hard and without holding anything back. Why should he? Just because she was a girl? She was a Nega: they didn’t count. Anyway, he had hit her once already, hitting her again wasn’t going to make the sin any more sintastic, right? He didn’t think so, and he didn’t care either way. He was here to fight, and anyone who offered him that was a prime target.
Her fist definitely connected with the white plating, a backlash of pain being sent up her arm. Note to self: Hit him in the face next time. She was shaking her arm out when his fist made contact with her face. Again. This punch split her lip, sending blood running down her chin. Jumping back she spit, her saliva bloody. "That's more like it! I guess not all of you senshi are pussies in skirts." She was still grinning, her blood pumping. This was a real fight, just what she had been looking for.
When she attacked this time, it was with her entire body, attempting to jump on him. Maybe if she could get him on the ground she'd be able to pin him down and get a good opening to hit him in the face. She was still grinning, her blood pumping. This was a real fight, just what she had been looking for.
When she attacked this time, it was with her entire body, attempting to jump on him. Maybe if she could get him on the ground she'd be able to pin him down and get a good opening to hit him in the face. She was stronger than she looked, both from the boost the Negaverse gave her, and from growing up doing farm work most of her life.
Chaonis felt the hit, the power behind it transferring into his armor and then into the muscle and flesh beneath, but it wasn’t enough to stop him. No where near it, now that he was going for it. This was what he was built for: he welcomed bruises and injuries. They just told him he had a good fight under his belt, when all was said and down. Be cause he was already counting this one as a win, even before it started. Wasn’t that what people were always harping on? Believing in yourself. He might take it a bit too far, sometimes. “No p***y or skirt here, but you’re welcome to check if you’d like. I see you’ve got one of the two, right?” He said, nodding to her dress. And then he had a Nega bug clinging to him like some kind of leech. He stumbled and hit the ground, but wasn’t about to be that easy to beat. His fists flew, both working in rapid succession to punch her, rather than swat, off of him.
"Oh, I'd love to check, baby. Just drop your pants and I'll give you a real close examine." With her fist. Her slightly manic smile conveyed the unspoken part of her sentence, lest he get the wrong idea. She was all for meaningless sex, but not with a senshi. Senshi were meant for beating on, their only good use was as an energy source.
She didn't have a chance to respond to his last words, too busy throwing herself at him. Legs wrapped around his waist, and her left arm wrapped around his body, while her right lashed out attempting to hit him.
Petalite couldn't help but wince as they hit the ground, her legs becoming trapped underneath him. She did her best to dodge his fists, pulling her arm out from under him so she could try and beat his face in. Her swings were wild though, a result of trying to dodge the senshi's fists. She couldn't dodge them all though, and more than one made contact with her torso. When one of his fists hit her in the chin she was knocked off him, rolling away. ********, her face was going to be a bruised mess by the time this fight was over.
Pushing herself to her feet, her fists clenched, ready to defend herself against his next attack.
“Oo la la.” Chaonis had to admit, he liked her approach. “Warning! Earthquake zone!!” He called, thinking it was time to show her what a senshi could do. She had showed him what her weapon was capable of, which amounted to being annoying, so now it was time to return the favor. Except his attack was a little bit more than annoying. It gave him a power boost, fueling his punches and kicks with more power and speed. Each hit stored energy, which he could then release and kind of control in what amounted to a localized earthquake. On a rooftop, however, that might not be the best idea. When she was up and off him he was quick to get to his feet. He moved to swing at her gut immediately, then lash out with his foot to knock her leg out from under her. Hell, if he could smash her leg by stomping on it once she fell, that might be pretty cool. He wondered if she would be so quick to make jokes with him then.
"Don't get too excited, big boy, I don't think you could handle me." She smirked, the words tumbling from her mouth without thought. She liked to think of herself as the Queen of comebacks. Yeah, somebodies ego was a little big.
His next words had her confused though. Earthquake what? ********. Was this some of that magic nonsense senshi did? It was stupid, senshi got magic, and she got a plastic toy. It wasn't really a fair fight there was it? It wasn't like she was going to take her complaint to Beryl though, she knew better than to piss off the boss lady.
Sapphire eyes stay trained on him, she didn't want to be caught off her guard, not with this senshi. She had the feeling he would kill her given the chance. Or at least beat her pretty badly. Petalite wasn't fast enough though, the fist connecting with her gut, and then the foot with her leg. Gasping for breath she rolled to the side, trying to get away from him while she caught her breath. Pushing herself up onto her hands and knees, her breathing was still shaky. She coughed, then laughed looking up at him. "Baby, if you wanted me on my knees so bad you just had to ask."
Chaonis laughed loudly, watching her as she rolled away from him. He followed her closely, not about to let her get back up now that he had her on the run. As was the way with his brand of street fighting, he didn’t exactly care about fighting fair. He was simply fighting for the fun of it, and to win. Always to win. “But asking takes all the fun out of it,” Chaonis laughed. He moved to stomp on her back while she was getting to her knees, planting his cleated foot onto her back. That was probably going to sting, unless she got up and away from him before he could land the hit. Either way, he was ready to follow up with some other attack. He was ready to beat her to a pulp, and all because she had popped up on his roof when he was spacing out. It might have been a little more than that, but it really didn’t matter in the end. “Say goodnight, Nega!”
Petalite wasn't fast enough to move away from his stomp. Her brain was scrambling to come up with some witty comment, slowing her reaction time. She really needed to focus more on fighting and less on the verbal sparring. The redhead cried out as she felt his cleat dig into her back through her dress. The force of the blow knocked her back down until she was flat on the rooftop, scraping her hands on the way down.
Doing her best to ignore the pain, she twisted and reached out grabbing the foot that wasn't planted in the middle of her back. She tried her best to pull it out from under him, she needed to regain the upper hand. Petalite ignored his taunts now, focused solely on beating him. He was more dangerous than she thought and if she wasn't careful she was going to lose this fight.
If she didn't managed to knock him over she wasn't sure how she was going to get back up. His foot was planted firmly in her back, and she had the feeling he wasn't going to willingly move it anytime soon.
Chaonis grinned as the Nega fell. Nothing felt better than that. He couldn’t imagine a better feeling, in fact. Kicking the s**t out of these cocky a** holes was a thrill and a hoot, on top of actually being useful. Killing three birds with one stone, and one Nega with a shoe, as it were. “Hey now,” he said, when she grabbed onto his shoe. He pulled his leg back, not wanting to give her a chance to topple him. Of course, she tugged on his leg, just as he had tried to avoid, and his own actions to avoid it only knocked his balance from him even more. s**t. He stumbled back, granting her the chance to get up, though he was struggling to keep himself upright. He managed not to fall, but at the cost of some time. Still, he didn’t look nervous, reacting on impulse. He let his fists protect him, swinging for her immediately.
The redhead was surprised that her plan actually worked, not aware of the luck that helped it along. The moment she felt the weight leave her back she scrambled to her feet even though her entire back was screaming at her to just stay on the ground. She couldn't do that though, the ground meant death.
She was starting to lose this fight, as much as she hated to admit it. She had taken on someone stronger than her and Petalite was getting the s**t beaten out of her as a result. Losing her grip on the fight, she looked around for an escape. She could always run, but would he follow? Her thoughts were interrupted by a fist clipping her in the shoulder. Jumping back she gound herself on the edge of the rooftop, holding the shoulder that had just been hit. She spit again, blood mixed with her saliva.
It was time to get off the roof, she was bloody, brusied, and almost broken. This senshi was stronger than her, and without some back up there was no way she was going to get the upper hand. "I had so much fun at my party, whoever you are, but it's time for me to leave now. Don't worry though, I'll be back to steal your star seed another day." With those words she turned and jumped to the next roof top, and then the next before dropping down into an alley and powering down. Victoria Collins had a lot of cleaning up to do.
The Senshi of Danger planted his feet on the ground, righting himself. He glared at the Nega, fists clenched, expression serious though his eyes still flashed with amusement. Thrill, as it were. This was why people jumped out of planes, he imagined. This kind of a high. “Leaving early, huh?” he grunted, growling. He wasn’t surprised to hear she was going to run away. Just like all the other pitiful excuses for fighters in the Negaverse. He wasn’t keen on letting her escape, however. Still she was a good enough distance from him and by the time he reached the edge of the roof she had dropped down and was out of view. He couldn’t feel her energy, which meant she must have powered down. Slamming his hands into the edge of the roof, breaking off chunks of it in his irritation, he made sure to shuffle the mental image of her into the back of his mind. Someone he was going to need to meet again, certainly. For now, he had to get off the roof and away from the area so he could dispel his energy without hurting anyone. Or maybe he would find a store worth breaking into, and use the last of his magic spell to get himself some payment for a battle hard fought, and that had ended in disappointment. Why not?
