Arden was tending his herb garden again. It was something he did as often as he could, despite the herbs being able to fend for themselves for the most part. It was something to do, to keep himself busy. He liked to work with the earth, to relax...to feel the essence of nature seeping into his being. He was one with it. Painful memories floated into his mind for a moment, nature...Mother Nature...Nokomis. It was, in truth, what he was avoiding. He didn't want to think of her, but here he was tending nature...everything would remind him of her. Casting down a weed from his mouth, he walked to the stream. Taking a long drought, he breathed. He had to put her behind him, and all the things that had happened. Far behind... He lifted his head, thinking he'd heard a sound.

The young mare frowned as she looked at the cumbled earth before her hooves. She had planted a rose upon that mound only a couple weeks ago. Of course then the earth was flourished and rich, perfect material for a plant to grow in.
But now weeds have overgrown what was suppose to become her rose garden and the ground was dry. Florian snorted as she pulled her head back and tossled her mane. "I did everything that Mother told me to do," she muttered. It was true. Florian came to this special spot each and every day just to make sure her rose would grow into a beautiful one. Clearly her attempts were pronounced as a failure. Her tail flicked in irritation as she snorted and dug at the small dried up earth with her hooves. "Fine. Don't grow," she blinked away with her snout pointed upwards. "See if I care," she added before turning around with a proudful grimace.
"Humph," Florian tossed back her mane and swayed her tassel before walking away. Clearly she didn't have the 'green hoof', but the young mare dreamt of having her own garden flourished with roses of all colors.
Pink. Red. Orange. And even White roses! They would grow by the bunches or whatever a group of roses were called. Florian would always return to her special garden hidden deep within the forests and sing to her special flowers.
It was a dream. But that's all this dream was going to be... She glanced over her shoulder at the destroyed ground that had been dug up by her hooves. Florian sighed, closing her eyes as she turned her head away. Maybe she should stop pretending becoming something she wasn't.
Florian wasn't a gardender. She couldn't grow anything, except weeds. But there was still a hopeful determined smile on her lips. It was faint, but was clearly there. She remembered an old tale that her Mother spoke of. Maybe just maybe Florian would be able to have her special garden. She breathed in deeply, puffing out her chest a bit and nodded. Yes, yes! Florian would have a rose garden. She just had to find it...
A bright smile blossomed on her lips as she galloped ahead. "Huh? Hey lookout---!" she hollared out, taking a quick notice of stallion she was about to run into--literally. The young mare came to a slidding stop. Her legs becoming intertwined with one another before she fell onto the ground making a large 'thud' noise. She had avoided running straight into the male but still had ended up falling down.
Florian winced in pain as she raised her head, blinking a couple times as everything was a blur. Well this wasn't a good way to start any quest. Not at all.

Arden was, once again, enraptured in his own thoughts. Completely oblivious of anything that wasn't concerning his garden. His irrigation ditch was working well, the garden was pretty much self-supplying. He would now be able to finish tending his flower garden closer to home. He had neglected it a bit, to make these herb gardens he had scattered around more self-sustaining. But now, they could flourish if he couldn't make it there every few days. He would be free to wonder again for awhile, to enjoy his solitude and hunt for the herbs he could not grow. He would find those mushrooms he'd been needing for a fortnight. Yes, yes he would.
He heard a voice, call out and turning he looked. There was no one there. No on there at all. "That's strange, I thought I heard someone." Looking in a complete circle, he saw no one. Finally, he looked down. A maiden bedecked with black roses was twisted into a heap. "Oh dear, are you okay? I'm always getting in the way. Can I help you up?"
Why was it that he was always stumbling or knocking people over? He was always accident prone, but his cultivation skills flourished. It was a fair trade for sure. At least, he always tripped over lovely ladies. Her white hair, was crowned with roses of black. And despite his causing her to fall, she didn't appear to be too irritated. Perhaps today, he would have someone pleasant to socialize with.

Florian winced in pain as she lifted her head. Her flowery crown tilting on an axis on her head as she took gander of the stallion whom seemed worried about the fall she had just taken.
"A little bit bruised I am sure," she responded with a soft smile. "But you should know that this isn't anything new to me. I am quite clumsy," she admitted as she tossed her head back to straighten the crown and move a couple stands of hair from her eyes.
The young mare breathed deeply and held her breath for a quick moment as she stood. Her knees wobbled underneath her frame as she tried to maintain her balance. Florian exhaled loudly and snorted at the pain that traveled up and down her legs.
"Either way," she cleaned herself off by pulling a couple dry leaves from her coat. "I was the who bumped into you. I should be asking if you're all right," she smiled and turned to the stallion.
Florian shook off the rest of the leaves and debree that had decided to scatter onto her coat when she had fallen. She blinked and stepped lightly to the stallion with a warm-hearted smile. "Are you all right?" she asked with a tilt of her head.

"I'm okay. I didn't fall, why shouldn't I be?" He smiled largely at her. "What happened?" He watched as she tilted her roses back in place, "Are you sure it's not my fault. It usually is in these situations. I'm always running into others, so to say."
